Thanks Bud yours is coming along nicely too

First have to see what you have going to your main. Then that is going to be your limiting factor. The path from your Main panel to where the sub panel is going what does that look like? Is the garage connected to the house ? Or detached ? I would say a 100 amp panel would be a good starting point for a 6k watt. A rule of thumb with electrical it's better to have more power than no enough. Interested in your layout. Have any plans/prints drawn up yet? Or is it all in the head still ?

Thanks!! all I have to do is get that power ran. My back is killing me time to medicate. :joint:

Yea I hear digging trenches is great for the back. haha.

Everything is still completely in my head. But if I get a chance this weekend I will draw out some basic blueprints and throw them up here.. I am actually not even living in a place where I could pull it off currently, so that really limits my planning. Plus anything is at least six months off. I recently got a new job that will allow for a change of scenery, so I figured more space why not more watts? Seemed logical. haha.

But with that little amount of detail, when you say I would have to see what is running to your main, that is your limiting factor, what do you mean? I'm guessing that my main panel only has so many amps running to it?

I will try and snap a picture of the main panel of where I live now just so that I can get an idea of what to be looking for/what I am looking at..

Right now I have the system filled with water/bleach solution about how long would you recommend I run this before doing a few flushes ?

Shouldn't have to run it longer than having it touch the surfaces a few times. That will kill whatever is there.

I run an ebb and flow and actually run a sterile reservoir with a little less than .25ml of bleach per gallon. Works amazingly. Brightest white roots you will ever see and not enough bleach to do any harm to the plants

Stussy, if you want your pics to be upright just right-click & select "Preview" (windows). Then click on the rotate gif & close it - it saves it with the correct orientation automatically.

Let me start off. :joint:

No more digging for me going to be sleeping good tonight.

Was under the house for the better part of an hour pulling cable. End up running 200' of cable. about half that was under ground 24" deep in PVC conduit. HA.

Just need to make my final tie ins to the sub panel and I'm ready to go. Thanks everyone for stopping by.

Taking a picture is a start. What I mean by the phase "running to your main" are the wires that tie your panel to your electrical meter. The size of these wires (big or small) will allow only a specific amperage based on its size. Finding what size of these wires are require a confidence in and respect for electricity. I should throw in some disclaimer here to contact a certified electrician to do this for you.

I am running a recipe that uses zone so no bacterial beneficials for me. I was temped to try a little bleach too. But I wont to do a few grows to see if it needs it.

When download them to my lap top the are the correct way. Once i upload them to website it rotates them. I guess I have to open everything in photo shop to check. idk.

In all honesty having an electrician do it was my plan in the first place.. But after reading about everyone doing their own electric I was tempted. But I'm over it. I have the money, might as well do it right..

What is a good reason for me needing a 100 amp sub panel in my garage though;)

I have been growing/breeding for years and never gave DWC a go, i have just took out a 50 littre aqua farm DWC bucket i had baught for mums years ago and never used, i have a question for you if youd be so kind, do you let DWC run constant on low ec and work up or staggered on timer through the day with feeds???, i typed DWC and you were the first thread i found lol, peace and looking like a cool room dude, i run a 240 tent and a 120 tent the now, plus a mimi 60 tent for bonzi mums, allways loved tent growing and those HYDROHUTS look the buizness!! peace PJ

Bro wht the hell happened up on your roof????? The base of that vent that you rubbed tar all over.....is supposed to go in under the top and side shingles........its going to leak...and could ruin or at the least cost money in damage later. And the tar should be on the under side of it all..to seal.....then shingles fold back down around and over it...and allows water to flow over....

Cool grow Id like to try this....

Good call. Reason could be you are going to run a lot of machinery setting up a wood/tool shop with a few radiant heaters. That sounds like a lot of power.

Ya searches here work weird. I think it tends to search the most recent active post. This will be my first run at a RDWC my self. I know you want to start out with a low PPM and slowly work your way up off what the plant is telling you what it likes. Feeding to much will cause the leaves to burn. Always running the pump in a recirculating DWC as well as the air pump to an air stone. Hope this helps.

you are right, totally forgot about this part..I went crazy on the tar though and has rained a few times already. No leaks but thanks for reminding and pointing out my mistake :tiphat:

cant wait to blow this thing up.

waiting again

waiting again

Well washed hydroton flushed out tap water have RO in there now. Was unable to get all the tap water out. So I picked up a 6 gallon shop vac from home depot to get that last little bit left. With the remaining of the tap water PPM is 200. The RO its self is 10 PPM :D

My buddy said clones are looking good this time around. Just waiting them now.

So I picked up a 6 gallon shop vac

Looking real nice and clean. It's unbelievable how much a shop vac can make life easier when draining buckets. Took me over a year to figure out that trick.

What's that extra black hose hovering above the lower left bucket?

That tent looks great man. Shouldnt expect less then full environmental control from an HVAC pro. That wiring looks pretty good too.

Did you think about running your UC epicenter out side of the tent? Cutting holes in the tent would probably be hard to seal but maybe add a few elbows and some extra pvc and pipe it through the duct holes on the bottom of the tent? That way you can check and make sure everything is copacetic while the lights are off. Maybe I'm just neurotic.....

I have a question for you regarding your profession. I am currently venting an can100--->8" Vortex into my house furnace's return air. You think theres any chance of damaging the furnace doing this? Its been running find for the past few weeks. Just thought Id ask.

Ya just sucked out the rest of everything I had left in there and filled it up willy. PPM is sitting around 30. I'm fine with that.

I ment to put what that hose was in my description. That is my drain hose that runs to my condensate pump. I close the 3/4 ball valve disconnect the line that goes to the chiller throw the drain hose on. Crack open the ball valve about 1/2 way and the rez drains in about 15 mins. Good eye

Thank you for the kind words.

As far as moving the epicenter out of the tent yes that crossed my mine a few times. And did a lot of thinking on it. I at first wanted all of my control and display equipment to be out side the tent. So I could walk up and easily see where everything was at with out opening the tent. Also when I went shopping for the UC system {UC lay outs} The UC4XL was designed for a 5x5x7 tent. Plus being short on over room to run the epicenter outside of tent. I just accepted it was going to be inside. So no you are not being neurotic cause great minds think alike.

Now when you say venting you are air from your inline fan this is from your grow area? My only concern about venting this into the return air is that there might be something in the air that is corrosive. This might cause the furnace heat exchanger start to rust. Now it is sucking the air through the carbon filter and through the fan and these show no sign of corrosion. It might be fine to do I just want to give you the disclaimer of what might happen. If the heat exchanger starts to rust and corrode the combustable gases could leak into the air stream and into the house. The main worry here is carbon monoxide poisoning. If you continue to vent through to the return air I would recommend picking up a carbon monoxide detector for a few dollars it will save your life and loved ones.

Hey stussy, I appreciate the disclaimer. I posted a thread about it in the Growroom section and did not get many replies. That is what I needed to know. I have not been doing it for very long and will not for more then 6 more months. Carbon Monoxide detector is on the shopping list thanks again!

As far as your tent goes, you are using horizontal lighting correct? I just set up a scrog on my current setup and I don't think I will ever go back. It gives you total control on your canopy height as well as support for those heavy colas. I have run a tent before and I think a scrog in a tent is the perfect situation. Check out http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=157358 Selfhemployed's tents. He's who inspired me to go to the scrog net.

Green Thumbs: I just got word getting the young ones in late tonight or tomorrow.

InlineMax: I don't really see any harm in doing this. Although I am not sure the exact metal the furnace is made of and what elements might be left in the air that is coming through the carbon filter.

I just got done making one out of 1" sch 40 PVC. Took this stuff from home depot i think it is poultry fence. It has 1" squares just clipped them out to make 2" heres a pic.

Looking forward to eating some good mexican food tonight and hopefully get these kids going! :dance013::dance013:

Sweet scrog screen! Looks nice and sturdy. I may make a similar one for my upcoming coco cab creation starting after the new year. What base nutrients (and additives) you gonna be using throughout the grow? Also, what air pump does cc give you with the 4xl?

stussy22

Tonka: Thanks screen is as strong as a ton of bricks.
Nutes I will be using are

base nutes
Heavy 16 Veg and Bloom (Hvy16 is a local company where I'm near. The shop I goto says good things about them figured I would give them a try. Plus nutes are made for RO water and does not require to add Calmag)

additive will be

Zone
Liquid Karma
FloraNectur
PreBloom
Big Bud
Over Drive
Final Phase

The air pump they gave me was a 40 I believe. Will check when I go out to the room again.

But wait theres more.

But wait theres more.

Decided to put up another tent for moms and cuttings. Check it out.

Secret Jardin 90T (It looks likes ICmag does not recognize pictures being taken vertically on my iphone.)

Opened up.

Veg booth. (1) 24 Sun Blaze T5 2' 4 bulb, Venting is a 175 cfm 4" oracle fan on speed control.

smaller box up top have a single sun blaze florescent 2' humidity dome and a heat mat.

fans finally came in 6" air king with a clip. I'm second guessing myself but do I need fans inside circulating the air around if I'm going to be running a sealed system with Co2?

Well just waiting on those young ones. Sucks having everything ready to blow things up and you don't have anything to grow. :biglaugh:
