Cheers. Those were test runs under glass.. be interesting to see what happens to them under hps.

Regardless... you folks keep producing dank Kush lines like you have been.. even if they aren't geographically specific,, they are usually all enjoyable to smoke

Nice to see some peace and sensibility has come to this thread via doc.

I am one that plays with words and concepts. I don't usually call bullshit every time I see it, but sometimes I do. Kind of the way I play poker.

I will say I seen some great ass weed in NorCali and I am one to also say that is the center of our universe. I have been everywhere and I think I can say that. However, this kush word.. You all say you can spot it a mile away but I have been sold Kush in Humboldt County from multiple sources and it didn't match. How could a street dealer get away with calling something it ain't in the heart of mj country? But damn, I got some good stuff and the price was a fraction of what you would see in the Dam.

I am just holding out to be the first one to have a Bobble Head Rez

seems to me like 'Kush' the word is used in the USA just like the word 'Skunk' is used in the U.K. amongst those that don't have much of an understanding of the lineage of the cannabis plant...so denote the higher strength herbal cannabis as such....

This is just my research, dont kill the messenger if im wrong..

"OG Kush is a mostly Cannabis Sativa hybrid, clone-only cultivar found widely in Greater Los Angeles (Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura Counties), California, USA. The species is rumored to be another name for the legendary Chemdog (a.k.a. "Chemdawg" or "Chem") cultivar of Colorado/Wyoming, USA. In this widespread rumor, a 'cutting' (clone) of the "'91 Chemdog" made its way to Lake Tahoe, California early in the 1990's and that OG Kush is an 'S1' (1st generation offspring of a self-pollinated hermaphrodite) of this crop but it is only privately available in clone form and not in seed. Although not a "Kush," OG Kush does possess some Indica (Cannabis Sativa, Supspecies Indica) traits and it is rumored that it may have some Kush bred in its genetic heritage. However, it is mostly a Sativa in both phenotype and psychoactive effects when consumed. Some have described its effects as both cerebrally and physically stimulating and it's smell as "lemony pine-sol."

The reasoning behind OG kush possibly having kush is a passed down rumor:
"og kush is a hermi seed from the
chem dog from back in 96 their were only two people in the day to
take the chem dog to the west coast it first hit lake tahoe. My
friends chem dog got stressed and hermi a little so he decide to try
the few seeds and the buddy who gave the chem dog seeds to us said
the old farmer said it had kush in it so my buddy to this day thinks
its a strain of the orig kush and said if the ny kids can change the
name from chem dog lets call the west coast version OG kUSH that is
the truth. If anybody ever smoked the chem dog back in the day early
90s it taste like the sour but fifty times more The chem dog is the
mom of the sour so basicly the og kush is a newer seed of the orig
chem dog."

SO EVEN IF IT DOES HAVE SOME REAL KUSH IN IT, IT IS A HYBRIDIZED VERSION. Once the OG kush hit the streets, the meaning of the name kush changed/bastardized to accommodate the characteristics of the OG kush.. So now, at least for people in the US- if you get something specified as a kush, you expect it to have the qualities of OG Kush, and have OG Kush in the genetics, unless otherwise specified as hindu kush, master kush or afghani kush..
(I would give my sources, but I dont think gypsy would appreciate directing to other boards..)

thats pretty much my understanding of the lineage of OG kush, and why i refered to it coming from seeds in brought back in the 60s and 70s. those closet breeders in norcal, oregon, colorado and washington back in the day spread all of this great product around the country on Grateful Dead Tour. we all know thats how the Chemdog came about in '91.
I'd say the chem line is probably closer to the affy/paki kush side of the genes, it's whatever that hit the chem that made the OG kush so sativa dominant in growth.

I dont think the chemdog was hit with anything, accidental or otherwise, . I think it just got stressed and popped beans, and one of those beans got popped and named OG because the seed popping origin was grown ocean side, and kush because they had heard that the original CD had kush in it.. It prob should have been called OG Chem or OG Diesel at the time, but they decided on OG Kush..
This is Kinda like how right now I have a ton of chemdog D seeds that I got in a bag of AMAZING hermed chemD herb that I got from a dispensary.. I popped 3 phenos, and they are turning out all different and all amazing! one being purple! They are shooting out banana's, but I dont care cause the smell is outta this world, looks amazing, finishing fast, dense, and im sure will be potent.. And if it wern't for CD having some sort of hermie/banana prob in the first place, I wouldnt have got these free seeds that is producing some of the dankest herb in my entire grow spot
