Z, I'm glad to hear you'll be joining the March! Find a good hotel nearby yet?

I'm stoked about the whole thing and can't wait till July! I've even recruited a few from work to go. Hopefully by the time July gets here we can have many more people to attend. If everyone here could just get ONE person to go...

I'm gonna try and get a few friends to come with us, but I think they're gonna be scared away by the thought of spending $$$. My girlfriend was only receptive to the idea when I agreed that it would be a mini vacation for the two of us at the same time, I wonder what she'd say if I told her a few other people were coming with us, hahaha.

I havn't figured out which hotel yet, so if anyone has any suggestions or ideas, i'm all ears!

I'm gonna see what I can do about getting the word out through my local NORML chapter, hopefully some people from there will come.

I wish my schedule wasn't so busy, I'd volunteer to be the Massachusetts rep for the event...

Sure is good to hear others joining the March! Anyone found a reasonable hotel/motel? I've checked a few places thru priceline and a couple of other such sites, but maybe someone living in/near the area could suggest a place from experience? Seems the 4th is a bad weekend for checking into hotels if you're a spendthrift like moi... lol I'm such a tightwad... But then it's not like money is falling from the clouds these days either.

I'm still hotel-less and not really sure whats going on as far as who's going down... I'll be there as well as my girlfriend most likely, I know a few other people I know are interested too but not sure who's actually gonna come with us.

SrPlantManager, let me know when you find a hotel... I'm used to forking over hotel $$$ for the 4th, though usually its for the Summer Nationals in Worcester not a "smoke-out" in front of the white house, but like you, I don't wanna put a ton of $$$ into a hotel when we're only really gonna be there to sleep...

DC has a real good subway system and has a train that runs from the Va suburbs so you guys looking for hotels/motels might want to look outside of DC. IIRC the train runs from Fredricksburg, Va to DC. Staying in DC for the 4th will probably cost you an arm and a leg. I'm thankful I got a relative up that way.
Traffic in and around DC is a mother.

Also, I can't take that website seriously at all. Would have been better off with a twitter page or something that doesn't look like turd.

You are right about that. But I will be there and am lucky that my new hubs is from Baltimore so his relatives are putting us up that week....I need to meet his relatives anyway. SOOOOOI will go fo sho!

Yeah, fireman22, most of Congress will be out of town. I like it when they take breaks...they aren't spending tax dollars nor passing more laws that we don't need. But if this is like the smoke-in's back in '76 and '77 then it will be right across the street from the White House. I gotta tell you...getting stoned and looking across the street at the center of the free world is a trip that has to be experienced. Talk about a "Whoa! Momma!" moment. Getting stoned at the epicenter is a high in and of itself.

It is good they will be out of town, then there will be less reason for the authories to be paraniod about officials getting hurt or shot at. It will be easier.

Hey from what i hear and what i read you guys in the USA get it real hard when it comes to tokin some GANJA!! I think its brutal how they treat you!
