The fucking flu. It came on last night and in 2 hours I was ruined. 102 degree temp, and my whole body aches.

No smoking, no eating, nothing stays down. I feel like deep fried shit.

Anyone else a big baby when they get sick? I got it from my girlfriend and she takes it like a champ...... I just keep whining.

Yup just got over that horror. Took me out for over a week. Starts with fever sweating then body aches so bad its almost too much. turns into a horrible cough then runny nose and then gone..

eat chicken soup when you can
lots of caffine free tea, echinacea chamomile
kombucha tea
lots of water get throat drops=you will need them
lots of advil works great for body aches
advil cold medicine is my favorite taste amazing and works quick.
most important rest and dont smoke anything because this flu attacks the lungs.

just getting to the end of that shit. Had it for about a week now with the coughing that just feels like being stabbed in the chest. Then came the body aches from head to toe. Could barely stand up, my balance was so messed up had to hold onto whatever was in my path so I wouldn't fall over. Blew my nose about 4,000 times the past few days. Nose as red as can be while it constantly runs non stop. It was on the news around here how many people have seen there doctor over it. About half the people at work have it. Some gas stations I have gone to had to shut down because all the people who worked in them were sick. haha pretty bad stuff going around. Worst I ever felt in my life. Smoking doesnt help at all so looking forward to it this weekend when I should be rid of this for good.

i've had lymes disease
mono
strept
whatever
flu is a joke
although i havent gotten really sick in like 2 years....a few months ago i spent ~2 days in bed for some wacky shit but that was about it

echinaceae also only really works before you get horribly sick, it doesnt improve recovery time much. only staying hydrated, properly fed and well rested will help you heal now, that and maybe some meditation

That is the flu that I have.... these body aches are the worst I've had with a flu. I hope I sleep better tonight. Can't seem to regulate body temperature at all....... freezing cold and then break out in a sweat.

Girlfriend has it and I think I'm already starting to feel a little fatigued and nauseous. I'm probably next. Sucks.

Back in the 80's I lived in Mazatlan, Sinaloa Mexico and got Dengue Fever and thought I was going to die. Whats strange is that I really havent had the flu or any kind of illness since then other than the occasional self-inflicted hangover. If you live through Dengue nothing seems to bother you again.

Now watch me come down with the flu tomorrow after saying that.

Hope you feel better you big baby!

Take care.

And...... I'm better except for the cough. 7 days. Now my doctor has it. I felt better quicker than my girl and the only thing I did different was 3 hot showers a day.

I tried smoking and now the hack is back.

Sounds like something we refer to over here as... Man flu.

From the urban dictionary:

Man Flu
266 up, 107 down

A rare strain of flu so powerful and so deadly it can only be matched by the Bubonic Plague and Aids. A incurable virus which has adapted to only effect the "XY" gene found in men. The virus attacks the immune system 10,000 times harder than the average flu virus, causing excruciating pain for the victim. Man Flu has no cure and prayers can save the forsaken life of the infected. The often deadly virus is mostly laughed at by women who sadly cannot contract "Man Flu"

Woman: Is he ok?
Doctor: I'm afraid not, I'm sad to say he has Man Flu

I hope you survive mate, I had a nasty battle with it last year. :D

I had a cough starting 2 days ago and I was hacking and dying all day yesterday and come home from work running a fever.

Before bedtime I made up a garlic hot toddy with a whole head of garlic crushed with a garlic press into a glass. I added a couple of tsp of olive oil and 1/4 cup or so of red wine. Zapped it in the microwave for a minute then gagged it down.

I wrapped up tight in bed and sweated out the fever all night. This morning my chest is pretty clear and the fever broke. My nose is running like a tap and I'm still sick so took the day off work. I'm prone to getting bronchitis so I'm really happy my chest is clear today.

Anyone else do the garlic hot toddy?

Never heard of the garlic thing but hey if you shaved 2 high fever days off with it then it must be something. My 102 temp lasted 3 days. My mom starting talking about mustard plasters and I changed the locks so she cant get in :D :D

Hope anyone that gets this has someone to take care of you, it sure helped me.

oooh 3 days fever, that's nasty. I'd take something like hot lemon + honey + rum or my hot red wine + garlic + olive oil. These home remedies open up your pores and let your body sweat out the cold/flu and will break a fever in a few hours.

I've been experimenting with the healing power of garlic for a little while now. I've got chronic sinus problems and have been so blocked up since November that I've lost the hearing in one ear and haven't smelled shit all fall. I've known for a while that garlic is a natural antibiotic and I've noticed that everytime I make a Caesar salad or eat something with garlic my sinus is better the next day. I've been taking garlic pills everyday for about 2 weeks now and within a week my sense of smell and hearing have returned to normal.

I just tangled with the flu's 'big brother'.......

I just survived a bout of intestinal virus, it had me
down for the better part of a month. I felt fine, 100%
OK when I'd decided to rip a fart, instead of filling the
room with gas I filled my socks with you know what.
Three plus weeks of toast and gingerale and I began
to feel well enough for solid food and coffee. I'm glad I
had no respiratory ailments as weed was my only fun
based distraction.

Glad to hear you're feeling better Smiley, keep the shiny side up.
