Tikal doesn't contain PCK, the indica influence in Tikal comes from the NL/Haze used in the very first outcross that produced Tikal around 2002-2004, after that it was backcrossed again to Guatemala and then inbred by itself, without adding any other genetics

My bad! Must have been the NL influence then but whatever the case it had a berry-ish smell and kush like characteristics (sorry for the mistake, it’s been a while!)

Not always, perhaps you just want something to fill joints for light daytime smoke...or you just get a kick out of gigantic buds..

I think big bud could add a lot to the Hondo...

Be a great easy smoke for occasional smokers..

And bud porn,,,don't forget the porn:moon:

Is it just me , or does anyone else want to breed Honduras to classic big bud?

Size matters?

Hi Jammal,

Honduras is already a big yielding pure sativa, although her flowers are not very dense (it's a real and 'wild' tropical sativa) her final yields are usually very big, especially when Honduras is grown outdoors in a warm climate.

It's very easy to increase bud density by hybridizing the tropical sativa with a commercial indoor indica dominant with dense buds, ie skunk or big bud. These kind of hybrids have the potential to produce huge yields although i'm more interested in exploring other routes with Honduras.... especially with other sativas, it's where the Honduras' super clean and uplifting effect will shine better with the hybrid vigor.

Hi led05,

We have already produced Haze x Honduras hybrids ;) :

Purple Haze x Honduras regular
Green Haze x Honduras regular

they are not officially released yet (probably next year) but you can get them through the R+D section of our website.

Kaskadian (a very kind member, here at ICMag) finished the Purple Haze Honduras indoors with outstanding results and did a grow diary here in this room, really worth to check it in case you didnt see it.

thanks for the heads up Dubi!

I must say though I quite like the ones I've been working on myself (haze as the Male) and will continue pursuing this path, I have seen Kaskadian around, very talented

Update on my honduras

No pre-flowers yet.

Tallest are 3m+ now.

Honduras (left) and Ethiopian (Right) are easily discernible by the growing structure; on Honduras the typical "chandelier like" side branching exits main stem at 90 degrees, then curves up; whereas on Ethiopian side branching is 45 degrees vs the vertical stem.

Ethiopian, specially the tallest, is the one giving off most "green" smell when you are close or brush against it, Honduras barely smell at all.

Honduras, the thinnest leaved of the group, this is a top seen from above:

Sprouts are the thinnest hairs I've ever seen on cannabis, and the reason I confused them by preflowers  they're thinner! than preflower hairs.

Seeing also the smallest true leaves I've ever seen: the two top center leaves fit inside an 1 1/2 inch...

They have started yellowing, I know repotting time is coming, but would like to save by not repotting males, hope preflowers should pop by any day now... so gave them a leonardite tea with the watering, and added about 150gr of leonardite per pot.

leonardite es basically fossilized humus, you can't overdose and is ready available for the plant, let's see on following days.

Cannot say... but those look like "balls"... could be a male?

Honduras Stout

Impossible to say.For me, cannot tell if that's an immature female preflower or a leaf sprout...

I find that in the axils of the leaves, you'll usually see a leaf bud first, followed by a flower between the leaf/branch bud and the spur on the side of the stem.

How far down from the apical bud is that little cluster in your 2nd pic? The overall shape of the largest flower in the cluster looks female to me in that it tapers to a fine point, but the fact that they're clustering so densely makes me wonder if they're male.

That's the apical bud of a side branch exiting main stem around two thirds of its height... now I realize of course will have a lot of sprouts... agree with you those preflowers look female...

I'd be very surprised if those weren't balls, that's a Man baby, always easier to tell in person but soon we'll know :0

Yep, Honduras Tall was a boy!

Tips I extract from this experience to early-sex Honduras:

1.- Look for preflowers on the higher top apical sprouts, not axils.

This is a high top on Honduras Stout:

2.- Honduras males groth is vertically focused on early preflowering stage; growth on females is more balanced, with a noticeable trait: she starts to "fill-in": sprouting tons of new fan leaves and sub-branching on previous axils.

Early pre-flowering stage (now) :biggrin::

Really hard light (midday), will take better ones.

What a shy girl! I Will be repotting her this afternoon. :woohoo:

Hi repuk,

A pity the taller one was finally male, because she was showing some purpling in the stems, usually an indicative of being the 'colombian pheno': the strongest one and with more and better terpenes in the Honduras strain.

But i'm glad you have a confirmed female so you can experience this central american sativa line, the female looks like the 'green mexican' pheno to me.
Best wishes for the flowering! ;)

I'm keeping him, will try getting some pollen...

:woohoo: :thank you:

It's a blast having all that breeding information! I'll love a old mexican, no doubt. No problem with harsher woody/sandalwood Old School tastes at all!!!!

Started smoking to fight migraines, I am all for the effects!
