I used two 6x 3/4 inches x 7ft , held together with 1x4" boards. All ceder from local mill. Then I dug out and level ground and placed planter into the ground. With footing going into dirt only a couple inches. Clay was to hard to pound into the ground. So we pick axed out a spot for each footing am then burried into ground. Was labor intensive. I wouldn't recommend unless u are passionate about growing. Then held each box from sliding downhill with 1/2 inch rebar. More work. I use the farmer john boards from the mill and cut the good wood out to make nice boards at half the cost. I little more work but worth the savings.
Backyard farmer: I will be using an orchard ladder for harvest. Is what there made for, hillside work conditions. No nightmares for me
Oh, I thought you were using the 1x4's to keep the boxes from sliding downhill. How long of a rebar and how far deep? How many per box?
I'm starting to have some issues keeping dirt at the bottom before roots completely fill it. Thinking maybe two short T-posts with chicken wire might work to hold it in. Maybe some weed stop fabric if the holes are too big.

But it's pretty bad ass once all the trimming is done and your pockets are fat and your eyes are red and you're somewhere tropical.

Lol... Those are my helpers muscles, which is a hippie dude with long hair. Just busted him and his own gorrilla garden here. Looks like jealousy had started to take over, so we parted ways. Vibes are much better around here. Running the show solo for a lil bit. Been very busy here. Hope everyone is having a great summer. Keep it green!Look at the muscles on that old lady.
