I've got mantis eggs/cucoon in an aquarium and it will hatch out any day now. I've been looking for a source of fruitflies to feed them but no luck. Any ideas.

I've used insect frass in the soil mix on a reamend, several cups so it went through 10cuf of soil or so, initially - its a good thing in the soil considering it adds another dimension from the outdoors that we are missing indoors.
With that said, I certainly wouldn't pay for it as you're getting plenty of the said benefits (chitin etc.) from other amendments i.e. crab/crustacean meal that I already use.
I use to keep reptiles & various insects as well - if I still did then all the natural reptile/insect byproducts would get tossed in the compost, and then ran through the worms.
What's the history on the spacecheese mom? Not familiar with the genetics used...

You'll probably find more information on using frass from the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) folks.
Since you have reptiles you're probably already familiar with these insects from that perspective.

Well...the mother 'Space Cheese' was an interesting plant. Very frosty and decent smoke,yet horribly PM susceptible and just lanky sativa dominant thin stemmed mess.
Lesson learned...so I hit it with a BMR male and it seems to have at least improved structure from the females I've seen so far. Still gets PM.
This one found favor in some gardens.
When Oregon finally banned Superthrive many of the secret ingredients were identified and it confirmed what many already believed (already knew) that it was basically Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) which is what got this product banned in the first place, chelated Iron and Vitamin B-1. You can't hide the smell on this one.
Even at that the NAA level is only 0.04% and the Vitamin B-1 is around 0.08% - 1 drop per gallon, right? Or something like that.
Sounds pretty super to me......

I was all super-dooper w/it at one point....we watched our parents dump that stuff in the water and use it on everything,and the Dr. Bronner's ranting type label which was some official US Government studies mumbo jumbo really sucked me in for years. Never really knowing if it was organic or not...lesson learned.

Thanks for the links and your input W89, it's appreciated. Looking forward to reading those threads and seeing some more methods. As far as ACT teas go, unfortunately a necessary evil for us is running them through pumps -- we know we're slicing and dicing the hyphae but unless we got a troup of oompa loompas out on the hill there's really no other way besides gravity to hit an outdoor plot with teas.
Same idea applies inside as well, it's just not realistic or practical for my methods to hand water 100 gallons of tea by hand. I need more helpers!!!

..here's a couple that are a little more Orca looking...they stay fairly short.

All BO x NLH are pretty uniform out of the seed and through flower. Some are more frosty,but every single one is twice as frosty as the original NL#5 Haze...I've ran 13 different females so far. All still have plenty of NLH flavor and smell,yield on some looks to be pretty freeking nice.
This cycle is going to kick ass.
Yes..tea tree oil is in constant use for something around the household. Why not bugs and PM huh?
