No problems with heat up here  .. maybe you should move up here in summer to keep the temps down ... lol

I know what its like trying to keep the the temps down but since i moved from the loft to the spare bedroom temps are much easier to control ... good luck anyways RIL :)

hi guys

first summer with this room so was expecting some changes had to be done

the td200 silent cant shift air as good as a rvk l1 thats for sure

this new setup is quieter than the old one...alot quieter which is odd as i thought the rvk's would be way more noisey

old setup.. 8"rhino>>>td200silent>>> blockbuster shades>>>>chimney.... inlet is td150 silent

ive added two 6" rvk l1's on the extraction set up like this

6"filter>>> 6"rvk l1 >>>>>blockbuster shades>>>> out through chimney

8" rhino filter>>> 8"to6" reducer>>>6" rvk l1>>> into the house

the 8" rhino is more suited to the l1 thats alot quiter even with the shades off(if your going for an l1 get an 8" rhino and reducer)

inlet to flower room is a td150 silent(problems here al explain further on)

lights on temps 28 10pm -10am
lights off temps 31 lol

the lights out temps are high due to the inlet not being sourced from the house im still trying to figure a way round this

does anyone know what higher lights out temps will do to plants in flower?

what happens to stretch etc?

if a had 32 rooted cuts these that are in now would have been tossed and i would have started again thats for sure but al just have to suck eggs and see what happens(i say this to myself all the time next run will be better lol)

You get less stretch when the light out temps do not drop too much. I prefer to keep it at almost 0 deg differential. This helps keep stretchy plants more compact helping the plants lowers get more light due to being closer.

Also the higher temps at night help control humidity as they tend to sweat out less when the differential is near 0 deg or even a positive differential.

thanks mate that should actually work in my favour then ,these are way too big

should help the rot on the schnapps too as that's where the humidity spikes were on the last run

My temps are at 84-86F. I had a fan failure the other night and the max temps were 107F! Looking forward to the end of this grow.

Just to note I have had every successful grows where the temps have reached to upper 38 - 40 deg for long periods. All was fine. I just installed a lot of extraction and intake so as the plants were never sitting in stale air. We are talking 3000cmh extract on a 4 Light room. Lol.

But yeah summer is a bitch. I am down to just the one 600pro the plasma and a 250w. Gets far too hot with the 2 600w. used to run aircon in hot summers but I wuld rather just lower the wattage these days as I hardly smoke compared to what I used to so therefore do not need grow so much.

Looks like the heat ain't gonna last. Daytime temps around here are set to drop 10 degrees by saturday, think it's the same for the rest of the UK

think it's sorted now the rvk fans are doing the job for me and if the outside temps drop I should be able to crank the watts up

Wow i think i spoke too soon my temps are raging out of control 27c lowest - 31c highest thats day temps i dont use cool hoods or anything so the lights do radiate heat like crazy ....my 8 inch rvk is at full chat ,but that can peel the wall paper off the walls if your not handy with push tacks lol.

Got some PM nutes for soft water ...so i'll start the schedule with my cut's ive got in the propagator. How weak are the nutes RIL ?

Cheers RIL .. i just bought the 1l to test but when it gets to the 120l rez it will soon disappear lol
Ill ease them in gently with 0.4 ec/PH 5.5 me thinks .(off topic but). i miss my truncheon so much as you can take it anywhere with ease ... but ive got this bloody BL combi now and its a pta it only gives one reading at a time ...that's annoying to say the least .

any pics RIL?

I also looked at the tri-meter but it just looks too Chinese to fork out that kind of money for...but at least you can see all displays at a glance. As you say the truncheon is brill at stirring ..oh i miss that .

Im just running rockwool cubes NFT style RIL ,till i get the funds together for the slabs and trays, ive got a classic moped im restoring so spare time is hard to come by but i'll have the rockwool slabs in place come October time probably. Well that's the plan anyways .

Looking forward to the pics ;)

well that's this grow finished looked in this morning and they are virtually dead, just when things couldn't get any worse

timer had packed in and didn't realise, I gave them loads of water this morning to try and bring em round but I've checked on them an they still look the same

need to source another more reliable timer

gutted is all I can say but the worst thing is I've got no mothers big enough to take cuts for another run, gunna be at least 4wk before I can take cuts

I shall revive this thread once I'm back on track

thanks for following guys and I'm sorry it didn't turn out too well

al be back
