it looks like you need one LED fixture per plant..... that could get pricey! They look like they do not cover too much area...

I ordered a second one...one just wasn't enough but the area that was being covered is going crazy compared to the flourescent tubes...

Have a few sour d seedlings going and they instantly started side shoots once that led was on em...and real tight spacing compared to without also...

Overrall I'm very impressed with what its doing to my 2x4 veg area...just need to get that other one hooked up and I'm set...

If my setup was a 3x3 I'm sure it would do the 9sq foot but in the 2x4 there is just a little missing on the sides...

15% green LEDs...

They do look nice though. Some of their specs don't make much sense though- I'm looking at the smallest, UFO style ones- they have 21 LEDS- the 1W model says estimated power consumption 21 W- OK the fans have to add something to that- but then the 3W model says 36W power consumption.
Maybe they meant 63W ?

Putting together a 1+ sq ft tent, and the 21X Pro looks like it might be the one...

Here's the official answer:

"3W LED's when driven at full power consume about 2W each. Our 3W LED's are driven at 550mA, rather than 700mA. This operates the chip at a lower temperature improving lumen per watt performance, and increasing lifespan. So our 21X-PRO with 21x3W LED's consumes about 36W of power. The use of green LED's is to satisfy the requirements of quantum efficiency, which speeds up the entire growth cycle as much as 30% while simultaneously increasing yields as much as 30% over other wavelength combinations without green. "

More hokum from the Queen of Hokum. While green has been shown to have a positive impact, it is only after red and blue have hit saturation. I find it hard to believe that a 36w fixture is going to saturate anything.

LEDs are definitely the future. People who oppose LEDs are just set in their ways which is a perfectly human response.

I think that the technology needs another year or two before maturing.

I will certainly keep an eye on this technology, within 10 years HID will be dead. Mark my words, and everyone will be wondering what all the fuss was about...

You mean adding 3 green LEDs won't speed up my grow and increase my yield by 30% ??

Darn....

Someone got that 30% mixed up with CO2 supplementation. I can confidently say I have seen increases in that range when you have a high growth environment already and add CO2 at 1200 - 1500 ppm :tiphat:

It might be nice to say that was just an honest mix-up...
...but then I did more research on the company.

Probably old news to most people though.

I fully agree..

It got exciting for the first lamps, then they were in the first state, then alot of people called them off.. but with the advancement of LED manufacture it will turn around soon

there is many positives

-more light for less power
-less heat
-can come in many options of power range
-dimming capability
-suppose to last a long time
-excellent veg lamps for watts used

So a little update....

I now have 2 of the bloom boss 90w ufo's in my cab and the light coverage is better than perfect...

Got the lights about 12-16 inches from canopy and they are thriving...

Topped some sour d seedlings and within 3 days they had two new sets of leaves completely popped out...plants are probably growing at double the rate they were with my flouro tubes and much much bushier..

I'm sold for veg atleast....not ready to give up my 1000w hps just yet for flower...

i think its great that lights that are 80 percent overpriced with bulbs that last 3 hindu lifetimes are mostly only garenteed a year from the manufacture. htg garden supply has a 90 watter for 130$ which seems kind of reasonable, but paying 1000 for a 300 watt led that might yeild close to a pound is bad finance, will see what the future brings.

The whole so many dollars for so much ONE TIME yield thing you keep trotting out every couple of days is getting tiresome...

Yep, it became obvious quite a while back that he's just another wearisome troll.

Wayne, dude, you need to get back in bed and get out on the other side. Too many people have had far too much success for that sort of statement.

Look to grows by sleepy, hazy, verdant green, blazeoneup and others to see what leds can do.

there are many others...
