EDIT prices wont drop MUCH if you want to go the cheep rout then just get some brick $200lb wholesale.

Yeah makes perfect sense. Look at what happened to the quality of liquor post-prohibition. Quality just dropped right off.

Sometimes I wonder if people use their brain before posting. But who needs a brain when you're using scare-tactics.:tiphat:

I've smoked with my mom (kinda) and dad... I smoked with a 19 year old girl once (amoung other things lol), so I can see why someone wouldn't like that part of the bill. You could in theory pass a joint to a 19/20 year old at a concert or something of the sort, although unlikely to be caught...

These are the posts from yesterday that started this discussion.

(a) Every person 18 years of age or over who hires, employs, or uses a minor in transporting, carrying, selling, giving away, preparing for sale, or peddling any marijuana, who unlawfully sells, or offers to sell, any marijuana to a minor, or who furnishes, administers, or gives, or offers to furnish, administer, or give any marijuana to a minor under 14 years of age, or who induces a minor to use marijuana in violation of law shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison for a period of three, five, or seven years.

Ok, so you can't use a minor in your pot business or sell to a minor. The way I read it, the penalties ramp up for providing it to a minor under 14. I can live with that.

I see what you're saying, but seven years though? When the kid is making money, learning. there is a reason he isn't with his family. His family probably sucks. A good family with a strong parental unit would never allow such a thing to happen. A third party (government) putting one of the original parties in prison for seven years, for an event in which both parties were in agreement consensually, is obnoxious. Even three or five years.
Maybe they should be given community service, something to give back.
It would cost too much money, but the parents should have to enroll in parent school as well, because they obviously suck (considering the majority of cases this situation would fall under).

It is s'pose to be for personal use...wanna grow more?? Be an Outlaw...just like the rest of us--:tiphat:

Well since I still say that getting a pound per square foot isn't truly possible, I think that five by five is too small.

No matter how your circus concludes in California I will still be an outlaw.... along with many other people in many other states.

but imagine what you could do in a 6x4 indoors ;) then outdoors for the season.

if you are smoking more than this, you are more than a rec user. you are probably a medical user. which there are tons of medical uses. TONS. So in all honesty, i can understand the no vote, as Medical marijuana is valid. its medicine, not a drug to get high on.

also remember, EVERYONE can grow a 5x5 area. so that means no more having to share with your friends. they can grow their own too. and everyone compare ! whoohooo

In reality, they would maybe throw you out of the Venue..but would not be using those charges-- Seriously--

Come on, this is just more propaganda.

You will see it more and more in the coming weeks before elections.

This is just their way of saying that legalization won't really bring all that much tax revenue (not the billions expected), so is it really the right thing to do?

I'm in Arizona, and it's really bad because we are trying to get Medical passed through this year (again!). Every crime having to do with marijuana is getting front page press - here are two stories from the last couple days.

be polite and im condescending
be blunt and im a prick...
Yeah, its rude and unnecessary, but you have a right to act the way you want.

Um, ok lol. Yeah I remember using that to show people how you can keep ulimited amounts essentially because of the results of your harvest part. But it says "where grown". On the premises (the house) where grown (the garden).
Specified here:
(b) living and harvested cannabis plants shall be assessed by square footage, not by weight in determining the amounts set forth in section 11300(a);
I have read this bill many times over.

http://yeson19.com/node/6

it leaves regulation of recreational sales to municipalities.
reason dictates government is more easily changed at a local level.
do you contend it is easier to effect change on a state level?
I'm saying, clearly, what I've said many times, it needs to be a direct vote by the people. Not mayors, or governors or representatives. The people. Like they will be in November, there needs to be a special voting event in which people can vote to the legality of the sales of cannabis in their county.

so your saying that because 19 does not change contributing law it should not be passed?

are you for the repeal of 215?
did you write the GOV. and tell him not to sign the recent bill?
or are these morals only applied to 19?

First off, people call it legalizing when its not. Its regulating and taxing. Secondly, yes, if you are legalizing something, that should include adjusting harsh sentences to more appropriate ones.

why would one grow something low yeilding like OG when they can grow Powerplant get more than 2X the quantity for the same price? And for the Outlaws in the state, who is going to buy from them when up north in Oakland there will be 4 Monster grows that can crank out 50,000 + pounds per year EACH. Thats a lot to go around, and with that quantity they will have to resources to out source any small time grower! AND as for these BIG BOYS , when they open up WeedMart why would they grow 25,000 lbs of quality herb when they can double there pounds with something mediocre? Sorry to disappoint you all, but im just being real!

no offense, but that article is only speculation written by people who dont know what they are talking about; not even a little bit.

The weed market in california will become just like the fine cigar, wine, and spirits market.

You can buy a 50 cent swisher or you can spend over a hundred dollars easy on a fine cigar.

You can buy a bottle of 2 buck chuck or you can buy 1,200 dollar bottle of 1980's Chateau De Chem.

You can buy a cheap dollar shot of Remy Martin VSOP, or you can buy a shot of Louis XIII.

The difference between all these products is QUALITY. They are all legal, and come from all around the world, and people make tons of cash off of the cheap and/or expensive markets.

ITS' CAPITALISM BABY!!! a beautiful thing. The best part about it is PHILLIP MORRIS WILL NOT BE TAKING A PART AT ALL!!!!!!!! THEY WONT RISK THERE COMPANY BREAKING FEDERAL LAW!!!!!!! and if they do take part which is highly unlikely, then they have plenty of CASH and INFLUENCE to defend their actions IN THE SUPREME COURT, and when they win there will be a precedent set, which would force federal legalization, which would help Americans start ending the drug war. SEE. Prop 19 is good. If it passes WE WIN NO MATTER WHAT.

At the same time cali will draw all the pot tourism in the USA and Canada, and many other places, because the weather is WAY better than Amsterdam. Also The Dutch might exclude tourist from being able to take part in the coffee shop scene.

So if it passes we can do this.

Tobacco, alcohol, caffeine and even sugar now, are being called drugs. Their only purpose, save for sugar, is to get high off of.

The point of the matter is that cannabis is not a harmful manufactured substance, its a naturally occurring plant whose chemical defenses just happen to interact with our brains.

Come on vta, you're smarter than that.

A 14 year old getting high is not un common. For someone to go to prison up to seven years because of this is absurd. The consequence should be something far far less and more appropriate.

Just because these laws are current laws does not mean we can't change them. We are currently in a movement to legalize cannabis, and seven year prison terms for someone smoking out a 14 year old is jacked up. The 14 year old wanted it. Its like anyone forced anything onto anyone.

Again, there should be consequences, but not seven years, and prop19 fails to address this in an appropriate way.

Smarter than what??

Listen to what your saying.
Just because these laws are current laws does not mean we can't change them.
So...you think the Anti's need more ammo? Yeah...lets legalize pot and regulate it...oh and lets make it OK to smoke with kids under 14. The people will vote for that for sure.

I hear the No on 19 radio spot now..."Not only will this dangerous drug be legal...the dope heads are also repealing law that criminalizes smoking with kids under 14. That's right...not only do they want their pot and smoke it too...they want to smoke with your 13 year old kid."

Why do people think that if a restrictive prop is questionable on passing....that an all out free for all would be voted in no problem...or at all???

19 isn't about smoking pot with kids. Get real!

80% price drop? More lies, exaggerations and fear mongering...

80% price drop? More lies, exaggerations and fear mongering...

Then why does top notch herb in Amsterdam cost 13-18 euros per gram? To say prices for the best of the best will plummet to $3 per gram is BEYOND ridiculous. How many people would bother growing if a pound cost $1000 at a retail level? Nobody. Demand is going to skyrocket coupled with the liscensing, cost of production, excise, state and federal tax I hardly see price dropping more than 10-20%. Id imagine the farthest we'd see prices drop is $10-13 a gram for high quality and $5-7 a gram for commercial. Plenty of room for people to make a comfortable living without worrying about a bunch of LEO thugs kicking your doors in at the crack of dawn with assault rifles aimed at your face.
