great turnaround barth and impressive first scrog. I hope the yield is up as you hoped. It certainly doesn't look bad from here. K+

Right on barth! Way to get the mod scrog going VG style.

VG's thread's are very inspirational. They got me to give it a try. The investment to grow this style is so minimal i figured why not give it a go. I had most of the material to do it on hand. :ying: So far it looks like the yield is going to be similar to what he is getting.

Hey all,

Well ended up with 147 grams dry for the two screens of Super Lemon Haze. I think that is pretty good for a first time Mod scrog. It will lose a little more after it is cured but not much. It was pretty dry when i weighed it. :dance013::):jump:

The Blue Mystic is filling in now pretty fast. Here she is at day 24.

My Soma Lavender is kicking some ass. This thing is huge and really starting to smell spicy and kind of like uhhhh i cant explain it. daaaa. Here she is at day 31

Take care all and make sure to roll your Mom a fattie this weekend if she is into that type of thing. :thank you:

Hey Leon, I think you should give it a try. I have done LST a lot too and i always had a lot of "popcorn" buds at the bottom of colas. This go i didn't have anything smaller then a nickel and quite dense.

Ok everything is jarred up and curing. 1 put 140 grams of Super Lemon Haze into a 1 gallon jar. It is currently sitting at 64% RH after 18 hours in the jar. This is optimal curing humidity.

I got one of Caliber III hygrometers and hoping for a perfect cure this time. Curing was on part of my growing process that i was never really sure what was going on.

The thread below describes how to do it right every time. People have been having excellent results doing this.

A perfect cure every time

hey barth great harvest! - glad the mod.scrog is working out for you, and you'll only get better at it. it's worth keeping notes and trying to run cuttings of strains you like. you can really get the stretch and screen fill dialled in better then. the first time for a strain or even a plant of a strain is always going to be a bit of a lottery ;)
but you seemed to get it pretty much spot on with the SLH

Hey VG, You are correct things can only get better from here. I am very happy with this harvest as i was pulling a little more then 140 grams from my whole cabinet. This is only 2 screens and with a plant that is not know to be a heavy yielder.

The Blue Mystic and the Lavender should be much better then 140 grams. So far, I am very happy that i switched to MOD SCROG. :jump: :thank you:

ive managed to have the girls grow into a stadium style pattern with my lst as its no so much about height restricting in my case. also i have trimmed all growth that doesnt get light as you would in a scrog setup. kinda lst/scrog hybrid ha.

being this is my first grow i thought i would give my self the best chance of both decent yeild and ease of growth.

LST works great. The thing is i just got sick of all the tying down and saw VerdantGreen's setup and results and had to give it a try. Im sure i will change again.

I am always trying to find ways to simplify and streamline my growing process.

Hey 0v3r and Easygrowing, Thanks for taking a look at my grow. Glad you liked it. Come back soon.

Small update.

I change out the pots today. I decided to swap out my 3 gallon round pots for 4 gallon square buckets. I got the buckets from a resaruant. From the bottom of the bucket to the top of the screen it is 18.25 inches.

I also changed the screen from chicken wire to a plastic screen with 2 inch squares. It is pictured below with the newly transplanted Mandala Seeds Satori(spear pheno.) I will veg it for another week and then put it into flower.

A little bigger modular huh, hoping for bigger yeild?

Can I make one request? Would you consider doing one bucket of high quality coco as a side by side and and to get your feet wet if you have any interest. Same nutes etc, just pure coco in one. I'd bet you would be suprised with the growth difference.

Sure thing. I will get some coco next time i'm at the hydro shop. Canna coco good? I hand water and that is the only thing that has kept me from doing coco. I have a ph pen and tds meter so i can get technical if i want to but you know, lazy stoner syndrome.

How often would i have to water?

P.s. the screen isnt bigger just the pots.

Awesome. Canna Coco is my first choice or Bio-Bizz is just as good.
I'm not sure how much you follow us Coco heads, but the Coco forum here at ICMAG is the best on the net hands down so its a great resource for reading and conversing.

As growing MJ in coco is a new[ish] thing, there are people trying different things all the time, and plenty of different schools of thought.

For instance some don't pre-flush quality brands of coco assuming there good right out of the bag as an inert medium. I'm the opposite, and prefer to flush with 5.8 PH RO untill run-off reads reads the same. I can then plant my plants knowing that my medium has no nutes and the perfect PH. This gives me total control over the grow.

Another commom debate is over watering frequency. Some treat it like soil, some water much more aggressively like hydro. I prefer the later. More waterings equals more growth. The pots you run are pretty large and will hold a lot of interior moisture so every other day in veg and every day in flower should be plenty.

Hey barth,

I see the new squares pots n' I'm stoked for your next grow dude. Whats your reasoning for switching out the chicken wire? I'm using a plastic one aswell and its really more a preference for the hole size.
