Are Bubble Bags really made from Goretex?

have a read of the drug paraphermalia act again it explains quite clearly how a company like filterbags.com would never be in the firing range, it's a company selling all types of filtration equipment used for varied legitimate uses and so is a long way different than bubble bag clone sellers on Ebay, but if that is what you have in mind as your legal defense strategy ......hmmm, best of luck with your home biz! (let's hope those Cindys are long gone before selling those copy cat bubblebags from home)

and how about coming up with something that's actually new, unique and innovative? It would be way more profitable, a lot safer and way more satisfying..I'd suggest you start thinking along the lines of a bubble bag system with rigid meshes on hard containers instead of floppy meshes and fabric bags.

What Cindy stock you using? Mine turned out wonderful and have been some of my most enjoyable medicine so far. Good luck with her.. I crossed a nice vigorous pineapple male with LA Con and the same male with Hawaiian Purple Kush as well.

Mine were from GN C99 stock that I bought first hand overr the counter from Gypsy himself when he had his "Seed Boutique" shop in Amsterdam...this was in 2003(??..not sure as my passport is in a bank safety box at the mo) or whenever this particular cross was first sold. I bought a few other strains at the time and he gave me a free packet of GN C99 and also a packet or two of Zamal once he heard I was living in the tropics, so I had two packets of Cindy in total.....I seeded two nice femmes and have been giving these out to friends ever since, crossing with other hazes and landrace sativas, the resulting seedlings were a little different, one is smaller and faster and the other is taller and often takes 60 days, the latter has a nice kick to it..I always seed a few lower branches when I have a decent male ..the hard part is keeping track of it all, esp when there are several males...I'm down to about 3 or 4 beans each of the first Cindy crosses I made, but I made some more seed and I'm trying them out. But I haven't really been focusing on growing very much in the past year or so as the straight life has got in the way...just a few little-uns on the balcony.

I saw some pics of your Cindys a few days ago, I can tell you are a good grower!, those Cindys of yours look nice and compact..were you vegging them under fluorescents? Flowered and smoked them yet?

First breeding attempt.. hope to find some keepers. Shit man now that I think about it, I'm breaking Federal Law doing this..

smokers only are missing out the wonders of growing their own and those who grow only clones or only females are missing out on the wonders of creation and variety. I'm due to buy some more strains and .. the choice is mind boggling, but whatever I choose, I'll definitely seed a few lower branches so I can play Johnny Appleseed for a few more years! and you aren't really breaking any major Fed laws, only if you sell them.

Happy Seeding!

Was Bubble Man able to isolate a new, innovative unique idea himself?

And once again, I really appreciate your concern for my well being. My business and personal life are two separate entities legally and philosophically. I follow the California legal medical guidelines in my personal life.

If the DEA wants to put man hours and effort into an attempt against nylon bags it will just add to the absurdity and help form public opinion stronger in the positive direction it has been going lately. If that were to happen, not only would taxpayer dollars be spend fighting nylon, but it would also affect:

1) Port traffic is down ~30% year after year. I'm helping, albeit in an extremely small way, to contribute to port traffic.
2) Income tax, state sales tax, et al will be paid. With income tax collection down in CA and the nation I'd think they would like all they can get.
3) Contribute to exports. We need exports. I'm sure there will be many shipments to Canada, Europe, Asia, etc. Will they foil the evil nylon bags helping contribute to the export market? The ailing USPS could probably use the business too.

So what do you think? War on Nylon the new war on terror? In all seriousness, we could make a much bigger list of bad guys that need to go to jail right now (Enron style) than someone selling nylon bags. Public sentiment is getting stronger.. it's only a matter of time before this will be a non discussion. If they want to continue to galvanize public opinion by harassing a law abiding, tax paying family man well.... many in my family have martyr personalities. I'm well spoken enough the absurdity will be made clear to the public. It doesn't take a genius to realize the absurdity in arresting someone for selling fabric...

Thanks I got my medical card in October last year and it was only my second grow (my first from seed). Yeah they vegged under 2' 6-lamp T5.

Been curing for just two weeks I've sampled a bit and she's amazing..can't imagine what 2 months will be like.

Were GN C99 from Bro Grimm stock? Were they F2's?

I would love to have a set of Bubble bags, but cannot afford them.

I have been looking into making some of my own on the sewing machine.

Thanks for the informative thread.

I agree with Vorsprung that if Bubble Man's Bags were less expensive, I would just buy those instead of going to the trouble to DIY my own.

I feel there are probably 90% of interested bubble bag buyers out there NOT buying bubble bags due to the price alone.

Lowering the price of the BubbleBags would increase sales like wildfire, thus increasing profits! How bout it Bubbleman? Sounds like 180 IQ thinking to me.

haha smartypants, then why is pot illegal? its just a fabric too , essentially.. :D

the irony is hemp is illegal because DuPont wouldn't have been able to build a good market share for Nylon (one of the bigger reasons, along with Hearst, etc).

how about that..... :joint:

Hemp

It is often asserted in pro-cannabis publications that DuPont actively supported the criminalization of the production of hemp in the US in 1937 through private and government intermediates, and alleged that this was done to eliminate hemp as a source of fiber—one of DuPont's biggest markets at the time. Hemp paper threatened DuPont's monopoly on the necessary chemicals for paper from trees, and Nylon, a synthetic fiber, was patented the same year that hemp was made illegal. The company denies these allegations.[14][15]

I live in a country who's drug laws are heavily influenced by the USA as it's trade is strongly linked..it's kind of ironic that if I was living in Cali, I'd have a Medical Cannabis (aka a keep out jail free) card in about 3 seconds..but here, if caught with even one plant, one jay or even piss an essence of THC I'd be on the 7pm news, jailed for at least 6 months then deported forever. I just hope that the sensible change in USA cannabis laws flows onto the countries they forced to adopt their harsh drug laws.

I used to vegg under flo tubes, then CFLs (now I just grow longer flowering strains outdoors, so I just turn on the balcony light to extend the photoperiod. Tubes have a longer life (and are a lot sturdier when bumped) than compacts....flos are great for the first month or two of growth, a good way is to have CFLs above and vertical tubes on the side. Plants flowered under lots of fluorescents with be very resiny and the strong potency..it's best to keep the plants trained very close to the lights and have good ventilation.

Been curing for just two weeks I've sampled a bit and she's amazing..can't imagine what 2 months will be like.

all strains improve with curing, more so the longer flowering strains...I usually grind all my buds and run them over 3 or 4 flat screens....Cindy hash is brain piercing

Were GN C99 from Bro Grimm stock? Were they F2's?

I fairly sure they were. I get tropical fruit scents, a short sharp potent high and they finish in 54 ~ 60 days under lights..you know, the typical Cindy...but tolerance builds up fast, so it's best for me to alternate C99 with other strains or it's impact dulls. This strain has been hyped to the max, there are lots of strains with better, longer duration highs and higher yields, but Cindy is a pretty plant that finishes extremely fast with a get up and go for it type of high. My 4th and 5th generation Cindys are a little different from the original, but still very "Cindy" in looks and high, they just take longer. I've tried picking this strain early and late..but the high is not best when picked late imo, only bud hardness and weight. Your bud looks harvested just right

y i knew that eh, but my statement still stands. you are saying its absurd for the other fabric to be illegal, but i dont see how either illegality is more absurd really are they?

Sorry the laws are so strict where you are. I wouldn't belittle the great strides made with medical marijuana in the USA by calling it 'get out of jail free' cards. I was filling myself full of liver killing Tylenol, gut busting non-steroidal anti-inflammatories and addictive vicodin pills to mask the pain from lower back joint degeneration. I was golfing with some friends, complaining my back was getting sore and one offered me a puff said it would help. I hadn't smoked pot since college but figured what the hey I'm out on the course, it's a beautiful day, why not. Damned if I didn't forget about my back quick, get more turn in my swing and putt with some Chevy Chase 'na na na na na na' that day! I immediately looked into a medical card and haven't looked back. Being able to eat a pad of butter on toast (i prefer eating over smoking) on breakthrough pain nights, get to sleep easily and wake up refreshed is priceless. It's not a get out of jail free card. It's a 'this miracle plant is LEGITIMATE medicine that has been used for thousands of years and this is how it damn well should be' card.

Hmmm.. I had three Cindy females. The fastest one (pic above) I cut at 49 days she had about 10% amber. The other two were 10% at ~55 days. It's not a short duration for me tho.. just 2 weeks cure and she builds up over an hour and tapers down over two. I bought it to find out 'what the hype was about' (i'm impressed so far) and also because I wanted to get into breeding to make a strain that best suits my medical needs. I thought since C99 was making some amazing crosses (power house, etc) it wouldn't be a bad place to start.

My original set of bubblebags bought back in 2004 were made from a much thicker heavier canvas. When working with the bags they would stand up and hold themselves open. My new set of bubblebags are made with a much thinner canvas and it takes a second person to hold them open so they dont get a wrinkle when trying to scrape the hash out of the bag. I prefer the old thick bags much more and wish i could get another set like my originals.

wouldn't it be easier to turn it inside out and scrape off?

re : bad back......I suffered lower back pain for decades ..the last time I my back "went" I was house bound for a month with sciatica that was like a rusty knife of lightning from ass to ankle and my lower back pain had never been worse, I'd toss and turn all night, the pain would drop me to the floor like a sucker punch, my face would twist up in pain..it was a horror show, otc pain killers were useless, ganja I had at the time actually accentuated the pain....and Bubbleman, incidentally enough, recommended I try yoga and posted a link to a free beginner's yoga instruction video (www.yoga.org.nz) , I didn't put much faith in it, but I'd tried every thing previously (chiropractors, physiotherapists, Chi-Kung, acupuncture, etc etc) have been grateful of that advice ever since...that was 5 or 6 years ago, I haven't had more than a twinge of pain since.

Pot and other drugs don't fix the problem, they only mask the pain, yoga strengthens the mid section muscles that support the spine, lengthens the spine, corrects your posture, relieves stress and teaches you how to breathe correctly etc etc. I could rave on for paragraphs...yoga is alot more physical than I thought it would be and is ideal for those of us who spend way too much time pushing a keyboard...my advice is give yoga a try, the benefits are immediate and wonderful. Yoga is great if you have a little puff just before your session too!

Thanks for the link it sounds it is a must try. Funny I was doing Qigong for a while too and considered chiropractors but the way my back is I thought more harm than good would be done. Now I need to get over my fear of spandex and cutoff sweats.

Babba, I bought some heavy vinyl fabric to make the sides of mine. Is that what material you mean or was yours more of a burlap canvas fabric?

Still researchin how to make my own bags on the cheap! I have yet to find a good supplier for the 1680 nylon yet, but still looking.

Can't wait to get out my sewing machine and try to make some hash. Never thought Home Ec class would actually come in handy! LOL.

I would still rather buy a set of Bubblebags... maybe someday when I'm richer. :)

Here is a source for 1680 denier nylon with polyurethane coat. They might have material minimums but it might be worth a phone call or email:

Thanks, Vorsprung, I hit them up for a yard of both colors, for free samples, wonder if they will oblige me? That would pretty much take care of my needs.

Now onto finding the exactly right mesh. I been looking at some, but frankly it's hard to find!

thanks for the help.
