I have a feeling there will be MANY disillusioned People out there when reality sets in........ the price goes up and they realize...........They took it in the ass again.

there is no comparison to how many people are taking it up the ass now because of unfair laws. sure, you couldn't live recklessly selling drugs and being a gangster, you'd be broke. but you could be a farmer if you knew what you were doing...there's intrinsically going to be a good value to pot because of the demand, and the variety. i wonder what the break down is on how expensive it is to grow a gram of hydro is vs. tobacco....:joint::joint::joint:

I dont know the numbers and am wondering. Would not completely legalizing cannabis jeopardize the incomes and wealth created by the prison industrial complex which in Cali alone generates hundreds of thousands of petty marijuana arrests.

Also what would they do with all the people who are currently behind bars for cannabis offences if it were legalized? Would they all be let out? If so, it would cost a TON to sort out who all is in for only cannabis and no other more serious crimes in addition. If not, that would be a travesty. Also, being that this is America, I'm sure if it got legalized and they let people out of jail, many of those people who were let out would immediately try to sue the state, police, etc. for unjustly imprisoning them for the time they were in, clogging up the system and costing even more money. Many very complicated and costly issues will have to be dealt with when it eventually does become legal again.

Why does everyone keep saying it costs so much to grow an oz of weed? With a pair of 600's it costs me about 15 bucks to grow an ounce of bud. The first grow alone covers the cost of the lights, fans, pots and leaves a lot left over.

The biggest cost is freedom.....

You obviously have never grown HIGH QUALITY indoor hydroponic Pot. Otherwise you would know what it costs just to grow it. Labor time (full time+), nutrients, growing mediums, misc. supplies, ELECTRIC BILLS, water, CO2 / Propane, HUGE start up costs, facility rent, security, Ongoing equipment failures, Seeds, ..........Etc. That's just the grower.

The Club:
Add on transport costs to the club, middleman, utilities at the club, employees, taxes, other over head, advertising, Etc.

Bring in the new law and you can TACK on:
Work-mans comp, Disability Insurance, Liability Insurance, NEW Sate taxes, Bonding, Licensing fees, City and County permits, Transportation Insurance (just like any product of value being shipped) facility maintenance, Accountant, Lawyer, banking fees, State approved security (most likely armed or at least trained) State required TRACKING systems (read the law)..........ETC. I can think of a lot more but what's the point?

Your already getting it cheap.........Ya wanna add the state require expenses on top of the production costs already required for quality weed and then get it even cheaper???............:wallbash:

I have a feeling there will be MANY disillusioned People out there when reality sets in........ the price goes up and they realize...........They took it in the ass again.

Yeah your right it cost a lot but your only paying it once and you have the equipment for life, so add up all the profit you will be making.

I sure hope they legalize, but not commercialize marijuana, it will devestate me to see landrace genes gone in probably less than 10 years, and a lot of work that breeders have done to come up w/ unique strains will get lost and everything will probably be bland.

It's nice to see that the federal resources that would have been wasted under the bush administration to threaten anything medical marijuana, will now be used (hopefully) to tackle the real problem, METH! This country also has a very bad prescription painkiller addiction! I know directly & indirectly many people hooked on vicodin, or oxycotin.
I am born and raised in the same bay city, and I have seen cocaine become a huge problem in the past 15 years.
These drugs are singlehandedly ruining our country!

but prohibition is not the answer. IT DOESN'T WORK. spreading truth and helping the addicted is far more effective, and costs far less.

as sad as it is you guys it looks like the truth is it wont be legalized n e time soon just think about how much money the govt makes off of arresting sick innocent civilians who need marijuana its all about the prisons people just do some research privatized prisons stocks increase the more people get arrested and thrown in jail and all the pharmaceutical comps owners r the same people or r freinds with the jail owners and y would they legalize this miracle plant that helps so many different symptoms when they can have you pay for headache medicines chemo anti depressants and mood stabilizers etc all seperately
the united states is run buy a jail pharmeceutical and drug treatment money machine and as long as this exists pot will never be completely legal and will at best remain decriminalized
hmm i digress though and remain optomistic hopefully there is good in the world and president obama is the real deal and truly realizes that there r sick people out there who need this miracle plant:joint:

I think this is all promising except to me there's a huge gulf between what the fed does with respect to California med clubs and the possibility of state by state measures. At the risk of offending some people I'll say that a lot of people and states look at California as too progressive with the results of many of their policies to be unsustainable debt. Even though California's issues have little relationship to their being MJ tolerant what basis would Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana for instance consider decriminalization and permissiveness an appropriate step to take? Really, I'm disappointed, not because Obama and the States haven't outright legalized MJ, just that I still see it as a long way down the road.
