The remarkable vitality of the males who were transplanted to larger containers and are finishing outside has me ready to give that a try with the maturing girl in the back. Depending on her demeanor, this will become the new standard which will provide a little wiggle room between waterings. A new wrinkly to improve germination and sprouting of fresh faces started today as well - a thin slice of Aloe for the seed to lay on before adding an inch of soil. Should take a week to ten days to judge whether this helps with my dismal track record. Ten new starts today with eight more to go in a week or so.

A bit longer in veg than my normal pattern but a look at how weak and puny it was on the last day of October compared against its current silhouette proves that persistence is key.

A solitary sprout behind this and a likely male in another veg cabinet rise out of the desert that is my on deck circle.

The strong showing from the mature girl in the main space who got the cruel upgrade has me leaning in on the strategy of moving to the larger container once sex is confirmed.

With the mature gal centered under the SP3000, the younger pair aren't situated to take full advantage of the sweet spot for the TSL2000 but given their countenance at this point they are marching ahead at full speed and will get the bump this weekend to the larger pots.
Plans for the advance of either of the two next in line are on hold until the end of the month which will see them close to three months on long hours and a bit more developed than anything since I began the experiment with these coffee canisters. Having harvested over a dozen from the smaller pots I've managed to increase my reserves to nearly seven quarts of the main heavy tops while working through the lower foliage to allow for a more complex character for the bigger buds by a longer curing process. Still have nearly two quarts of the fluffy stuff so I don't even sample the prime colas except to treat myself.
Nothing but good things to say about these Mars Hydro units for handling flowering but I'm sensing their intensity has as much to do with the newfound challenges of feeding as the smaller root mass in these pots.

I would have liked to give the TSL2000 a trial as a veg light as well but my current configurations offer enough (if not too much) horsepower to handle those duties. The two next in line will be forced to start short hours where they are and should be able to slip into the main space when the older girl comes down (likely the middle of next month).

Currently the only other fish in the pond was sprouted around the first of this month and topped about a week ago; should be good on long hours until the middle of Feb. The unviability of my stash of seed has me seriously considering trying my hand at cloning to at least have some activity until something pops.

Upgraded ahead of schedule; despite my misgivings about cloning undetermined individuals this is

going to provide cuttings to secure my next season regardless of the continuing failure to sprout fresh beans.

Posting issues on the other site make the arrangement to review this new light in here a blessing so that I don't grow frustrated while they sort out the problem. Clones are being pulled in the next week or so to get another wave under way while I continue to struggle sprouting anything from my undependable stash of seeds.

The selected mother for my upcoming series of cuttings and the next in line who will bump to 5 gal and offer it's own wave since it will be on long hours until at least the end of next month.

The Midnight Madness - been contemplating this strategy for a little while now and finally have the luxury and courage to put it to the task. 1/2 banana with the cutting skinned and slid into the center then covered by a plastic jug to help retain moisture; if it proves successful, the next batch will be set up in about two weeks.

The gentle reshuffle pulled the eldest to the foreground in order to situate the Wicked Thicket over her shoulder. To the left are the more recent entries who will shift to the rear when the older girl falls in a few more weeks.

A character sketch from several years ago vs a candid moment this past week perfectly captured Dog Benson's essence.

I appreciate the encouragement; due to reps who've reached out to trust my minimal presence as a platform to motivate others, I've been able to step my game up far more than I could have dreamed. I ventured into entry level fixtures and plodded along with outdated technology with a dogged determination but since taking possession of the two units handling flowering and shifting others to extended veg I feel like I might actually be able to produce some studio quality buds.

Despite earlier regrets about committing so much real estate to an individual effort I decided to go big on this one after realizing how much easier it is to regulate water and nutes in the larger containers.

The younger start in the 5 gal has a healthier profile than the next at bat in another 3 gal.

Harvest time is almost here for the specimen on the left which will give the sprawling Wicked Thicket in the center a bit more elbow room.
