it's not really a wound.

it's simply Physics - when skin gets too thick, it cracks.

been treating a spot on my foot with Neosporin for 3 years. wound has been open/bleeding intermittently for 10. going in to see specialists for weekly treatment starting tomorrow. it partially heals, but skin rips right back if i walk far at all. work sucks. too many stairs...

I suppose you´ve tried to remove dead skin cells and moisturizing etc by now. Have you tried applying emu oil ? that stuff can work wonders in healing wounds amongst other things.

docs are going to (try to) treat with the same drugs as they use on bed sores/other hard to heal wounds. myself, i suspect it is a skin cancer. looks just like 2 others i had removed years ago. getting old sucks...:petting:

I had to go to a foot specialist a few years ago to have my heels ground down...they really did a good job. Then I had prescription ointment to put on my heels. They were cracked bad and the cuts I had were deep. Doctor ground down all the way to the cuts and cracks.

As the dominant parent I inherited the pet cats as the kids grew up and out.

One of them attacked my foot through a bedsheet and tore a good hole in my ankle.

Three years later and there is still a 1/2" line on my ankle that will seep blood if agitated.
I have type II diabetes and this is one of the symptoms. The nerve damage has reached to the kneecaps, usually just numbness but the occasional hot pliers squeezing the bone make an appearance.
Two counts of impact scrapes on the back of my hands several months back are still scabbing over without the underlying skin bonding. More than just a seep.
Lots of sparkles when my eyes are closed. Text is on a 55" 4K monitor and the browser set at 175%.

Yeah, getting old would suck if I could not drift off into the vivid memories of youthful indiscretions.

None of the above hurts or even matters after a certain point. It forces me to sharpen my focus, which frees me from the discomfort age attacks with.

Time for another dose of Green Crack before switching to a bowl Jack Herer. Not absolutely necessary but definitely makes transitions more pleasant.

It's normal that skin gets thin as you get older and there are specialists. How about a dermatologist? Getting old does suck. There's allot of payback for too much fun in the early years.

Soak in water and hydrogen peroxide for an hour. Then scrape the dead skin off. Repeat. I had the same thing (not so bad thought, but it still cracked and hurt) and had it fixed in a month. 2 Months later it was invisible.

Reminds me of a Ron White line where he is getting arrested for DWI.
