Uncle Bob's closet special can grow some of the best pot you have ever smoked. It does not take 1000's of dollars to grow good pot. It will take 1000's to grow 500 ponds of good pot

This is a list of what I can think of, because I am using mostly everything listed. I have two large storage totes overflowing with extra shit. I still will be building a veg. room in November, estimated cost around $2000.00. Also in the coming few weeks a carbon filtered dry chamber will be built, estimated cost around $400.00. January will be going sealed, estimated cost for co2 + air conditioner and other hidden cost, $2000.00 I spend around $400.00 a month on electricity, each crop need about $300.00 in nutrients, every 90 Days over $650.00 on bulbs.
I use a lot of gas running errands for my room, and I live offsite so I must drive there when working. You have no idea how much problem solving goes into building a room like this and making it work. My flower room alone took 2 people 13 days 12-18 hours a day non-stop. Try wet vacuuming 120 gallons of water out, and lugging it all to the drain. Or wait until harvest; ever see 24 5 gallon sized root balls and how messy that can be? Let’s not even get into how much waste there is, trying to dispose of it properly. Ever wash 200 liters of hydroton, it’s one of my least favorite things to do? Trimming 24 plants is a bitch to.
I don’t work 40 hours a week on growing, but when I do have to work it can get dirty, long, and hard. I am at risk doing my job, safety and by federal law. My vacations get shortened because I must tend to my ladies needs, and sometimes I have to cancel plans or not make them because I am on my ladies schedule. I invested a lot of money and time into building my rooms, which also is a large risk. I would never have the money for all this at once, I worked my way up and it took 3.5 years to get where I am, indoors. Let’s not forget the years spent outside in the bugs and mud but that’s a whole different story.
There are so many other cost not covered here, years of trial and error and old equipment.
This is one reason why medical marijuana is so expensive.
If that list and the prices weren't so stupid it would be funny. But for shits and giggles I'll play along with your attempt at justifying what some of you charge the sick and dying.
So you say all that is needed for a succesful 24 plant grow? I call bullshit. But I'll go along with it and we'll get a laugh together. I think you'll admit that most everything on that list is a one time buy every few years, except for the bulbs, soils, ferts etc. So on a 24 plant grow, times 3 ounces per plant, at the prices people are charging you grossed a grand total of 37,500 dollars on one 2 month grow. We'll use an avg price of 500 an ounce which some of you shits can justify charging someone that's dying of cancer, aids and whatever else. Multiply that times 6 grows per year and you gross a total of just short of a quarter of a million dollars. And I got news for you son, you better be growing twice the number of 24 that you gave with that amount of lights.
I've been growing pot since before some of you were born, and for you to post something this stupid to justify the prices you charge sick people does nothing but make me want to puke.
I'm done with this fucking conversation. The more I listen to some of you, the more you make pharmacutical companiies look like Mother Theresa.

I can only grow 6 plants so sometimes it's more sometimes it's less Ave 1lb. My PGE averaged about 290$ for the whole house. I was using 1 600 plus all the fans. The veg room used 400w of t5. I would get 6-10 oz on 100$.I reuse all of medium in my compost pile so no expense. I lived in Or I just moved to Ca and it's more expensive here for sure. My last harvest of SLH was the worst I have ever got 5 plants all where 4-5 feet tall. I got 5 oz. On the other hand the smoke was some of my best I have grown. Im not in it for yield im in in for quality of the med the less I use the longer it lasts.

So what if Bill Gates is dying? Do you disapprove of him paying 500 dollars an ounce? If someone legitimately has a debilitating or fatal illness and they can't pay over the counter prices there are programs to help them within the dispensaries or they can shop caregivers. If they are getting it directly from the grower I doubt they are paying any more than 200-250 an oz. Not to mention that if they don't like the prices they can always say no. No one is forcing them to pay 500 an oz.

You are taking the most meager funds for cultivation and applying the highest possible retail to them to make it seem like these growers are living on six figure incomes, when the fact is most growers I know live comfortablely, but by no means are they living high on the hog... I understand manys frustration, but until the law clears up and the risks recede, it will be hard to convince people to put their freedom on the line for little reward.

Nope I reuse as much as I can. The only thing I chage is bulbs and thats 1x per year. After ea harvest the room is cleaned very well including all inlines fans scrubbers. I buy bulk carbon and reill them works great im still using the 200lb bags I got 3 years ago. ime you dont need to buy new scrubers every year or ever

I've gotten the answer to my question. And the answer is greed. Some people will try and get as much money as they can from someone, regardless of the circumstances. I just don't think it's cool to charge someone over the cost of black market prices because someone's sick and they have no other outlet. I guess to some it doesn't matter. It's nice to know who those people are.

Yes the answer is greed. Greed by the many special interests that keep cannabis illegal. Not by the growers or dispensary owners. The illegality controls the supply and the supply dictates the price. Until you remove the penalties, you will never see the huge influx needed in supply that would be adequate to sufficently squelch the market demand.
