I thought it was only 1.8 Billion in cuts. Which overall is a paltry sum of money when it comes to their budget. Which can easily be made up for in later budgets. That 87.000 "new" agents were to replace 50,000 retiring over the next 10 years.

It's for a modernization fund for the IRS, not the total budget. There are far more people that are OK with Trump doing that and pretty much anything he wants regardless of the Constitution or laws. It says more about the people who live here. The USA has lost any credible rhetoric about democracy.

So I again heard "under 2 billion" so I went looking and it turns out we were both right.
It's cutting funding by roughly 2 billion per year over the next 10 years. Or 20 Billion out of a projected 80 billion. Which can still be changed by the next session of Congress.
