Donald Trump is already facing a handful of criminal charges, but he might soon have to add one more to that list: racketeering. According to sources interviewed by The Washington Post with knowledge of the matter, the Georgia investigation into Trump’s efforts to overturn its 2020 election results is expanding across state lines. For instance, investigators have reportedly requested information from two firms hired by the Trump campaign to probe election fraud in Georgia as well as other states. Both firms found no proof of widespread fraud so the campaign buried the findings. The Post reported that the move may signal the district attorney leading the case, Fani Willis of Fulton County, may try to pin Trump on RICO charges, characterizing his efforts to overturn Georgia’s election as a multi-state criminal enterprise. The state’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations, or RICO, statute—one of the most expansive in the country—can land a defendant found guilty in jail for up to 20 years.

his lawyers went and said "pretty please" and got laughed out of the building apparently. Garland was busy dicking around playing golf or something, so Mr. Smith got to tell them "see you in court, assholes!" The Chump knows he's in real trouble now. latest news is that he is hunting for a real lawyer with trial experience in federal courthouses. several on his team have those qualifications, but they were the defendants...

Pomp and circumstance doesn't really mean a lot at the end of the day though. The American justice system is flawed at very best, and built to protect itself at the very worst. The Hells Angels and LAPD have both gotten out of RICO charges. OJ fucking Simpson got away with murdering his wife and her lover and those are just the first three miscarriages of justice that spring to mind. I want to see this guy go away too, but if he does, so should the Bushes, at least one of the Clintons, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Obama, Putin, Tony Blair, Netanyahu, Kissenger, MBS, etc... All of these men committed or oversaw global atrocities yet the only one who is standing trial is the one who also attacked your ego. That is telling of where we are at as a society. Trump will never get his comeuppance, pomp and circumstance...
it's more about the journey than the destination
maybe he doesn't end in up in prison, but he is going to trial and all the humiliation that goes with it
it's the modern equivalent of being dragged naked through the streets in a nail lined barrel

Yeah, but you recover from bumps and bruises. His type need to be pulled out at the root so they never come back, but that won't happen because they're all cut from the same cloth, Trump just became the sacrificial lamb because he wasn't smart enough to run with the big dogs. He did fuck your supreme court though, stupid fucking system that it is, that shit will live well past his legacy...
Actually McConnell is the one that gets the credit for the Supreme Court, all Trump did was pick a couple of names off a list he was handed. Oh and it wasn't just the left's supreme court he fucked up it was everyone's which is demonstrated by all the Republican women who still want control over whether they carry a baby to full term or not or by all the Republican members who are actually LGBTQ+ members that are still hiding their secret. Of course this current version of the Supreme Court is just getting started just wait until they get to some right you care about that you thought was constitutionally protected.
As far as Trump and Jail I for one am not that pressed, Trump is old and with the way he lives his life he'll be dead before long. If they just prevent him from ever becoming President again and make hm stay in his Gilded cage at Mar-A-Lardo I'll be happy.

Yeah, even if convicted there will be years of appeals until he dies.
I'm really curious how 2024 is going to play out. Will Trump win the nomination while being on trial? Will the GOP do what the DNC did to Bernie and give Ron DeSalestax the nod? Will that drive Trump to run 3rd party and really screw the GOP? How will that effect the Democratic nomination or nominee?
