OHHHH yeah. Powdered koolaid itself is not a source of carbohydrates, and the plant isn't going to take it up.

why not? plenty of serious growers use cane sugar. does the plant know, metabolically, the difference between the white sugar in the koolaid and the cane sugar?

and if the flavinoids in Advanced Nutrinet's Bud Candy from the grape and cranberry extracts make it into the final flowers, why not artificial flavinoids in the koolaid.

This is not so much of a dumb question but a dumb act.

Buddy of mine back in college and I were up late smoking and watching a pot documentary where they mentioned that in Ky there are lots of towns where everybody and their dog are growing 1/4 acre gardens to support their poor families..... apparently up in the full on hill billy areas from the way they were making it sound.

Now I had spent a fair amount of time in Ky and knew there was plenty growing there but not really the way that the show made it sound. But I pop off about how if you had the harvest out of one of those gardens you could pay tuition for years and stay high all through to graduation.
Well apparently this touched a nerve with my none too bright buddy and he must of put it in deep storage.

Well a couple weeks later on a monday afternoon my buddy comes screeching up in his car and jumps out all messed up looking and freaked.
He showes me several huge bin bags in his trunk that are full to the point of bursting and I think OH SHIT! The silly little dumbass went and ripped off someones garden.
he opens the bag and yea there it is he had stolen someones plants. I dont mean the buds. I mean the plants. As in pulled them up by hand and stuffed them all into bags, root ball, dirt and all. And the somebitches were not even in flower yet!
Haaaaaaa haaaaa ha!

he had been shot at and chased and even pulled over twice on the long drive back home and got nothing for his trouble.

I felt sorry for the guy that he ripped off but still, funny as hell. He thought he had a hundred pounds or more of saleable weed. Haaaaaa haaa haa!!!!

Well........there are ppl (not me, of course),that would say that AN is a ripoff company, run by retired pornstars (so I hear), who are only out to sell gimmicky, overpriced products to the same people who buy GHSC beans.

I agree that the original intention of this thread was to also provide answers to the dumb questions, so let me answer this question:

No, adding carbs to your soil will not sweeten your buds. Plants do not take up carbs through their root system; they synthesize them internally from nutrients. Even if they could, most people smoke weed, not eat it. Try burning sugar-nothing sweet about it.

The color question is a little trickier. First, the dye would have to be absorbed through the roots. Second, the dye would have to be something that isn't broken down by the plant. Its possible.

Someone mentioned earlier that celery turns blue if you put it in water with food coloring. This bypasses the root system and sucks the dye into the plant. I think that its possible to change the color of a cut mj plant with the right dye by putting the stem in water, but I've never tried it because I really don't give a fuck if my buds are purple or not. This is more likely to work if the plant is light green or gold in color because chlorophyll blocks accessory pigments.

$80 for a 5 strains 2 of each feminized, how is that a worse deal then paying $200 a pack for 1 strain non-feminized like the other breeders do? To coat the seeds / manufacture that packaging probably knocks $10 off their profits, they prolly give at least that to gypsy, theyre netting like $20 profit off a mixed strain feminized 10 pack

Yeah... there are dozens of companies selling products with boosts of simple and complex carbs... they are all full of shit? How bout the millions of farmers who just use molasses to boost carbs to their crops just before harvest?

I'm no plant biologist, but I do grow decent ganja... What is it that I don't understand? Even if your plants don't consume them, the beneficial micro-herd that should be colonizing your rhyzosphere needs it to thrive.

Doesn't seem like BS to me at all... (especially in light of what i just pulled down using it in a forced flower project- first grow ever) just a possible case of not looking at the whole picture. Bud Candy is the only AN product I use and my homies who own and work at shops talk nothing but smack about these guys as a company... Not to defend these particular individuals without a real basis to do so- but just cuz they used to be pornstars, doesn't make them bad people. When I first moved out to L.A. for a stint many years ago, I crashed on the couch of a couple that were in porn. They are some good people.

@ nomaad-I don't have an issue with adding carbs to the soil to boost microbial growth. I use molasses myself. I do have an issue with claiming that it will change the flavor of the buds and will boost yield and charging top dollar for it. Bud Candy is $20 a liter(marked down from $30) molasses is less than $5 a bottle and is loaded with micronutes.

I don't have a problem with porn stars. I've always wanted to grow a cheesy mustache and bang sluts(bow chicka bow wow). But WTF do they know about nutes, bro?

depends how much weed they have grown.

i dig the budcandy for its fruit extracts. i feel like they come thru in the final product. smoked ounces my homegirl's OGK pre bud candy with a 2 month jar cure and with bud candy and no cure (albeit from different grow paradigms, so its not like this is science) and the stuff with bud candy was danker... i know. not science. but its enough to spend a few hundred bucks on it until I have scientifically proven or disproven whether the stuff works. This winter and spring I will be putting a lot of it to the test in my greenhouse. Trust me- bud candy vs blackstrap is on the list.
