What's new

heath inspired test prototype (aero)

system is full and runnin smooth. Just got back from a 4 day road trip with the wifey. Went to the grand canyon and it sure is grand, then hit vegas and paid for the trip at the blackjack table. I was a little worried about the system runnin its own. But when i got back everything was perfect.

Stretch is over 3 weeks in today. i will do some thinning and post some pics tonight.

Automated setups are the shit....For you ta be ableta leave a fast hydro setup like aero for 4 days and come back to no issues shows homework done to keep shit hoonin and....

Respect.......48-1.5 oz plants ain`t a bad thingy.....but I`d liketa see more...and you`ll get there....

What happens in Vegas...well....blackjack table paid for your trip ?.....Cool.....

Fortune favors the prepared mind.....Remember that Bro....I like your style..keep up the standard of excellence.....

Peace....DHF....:ying:.......

Nice, looks like you have that room packed in, also nice to hear you won some money at the casino, Im ready to go to vegas, never been!

Im sure this next run will be more what you would expect.

Thanks skyhigh, mega, AOD, mister d. ekomsi..and of course DHF!

Spent a couple hours in the room last night trimming, tying and arranging the canopy. It looks great! Some of the corner plants were hiding, but after some trimming and tying back, they showed there beautiful faces again.
The girls are drinking up a storm. And the PH is rock solid, rising from 5.8- 5.9 over a 24 hour period. I cant get over the fast growth..its only 3 weeks in and the roots are already creepin down the raingutters.

I pulled a bucket lid to inspect the roots and wow! a nice fuzzball !
Instead of changing the res every 10 days , im down to once a week. With 48 plants in there they eat a ton. PPMs go from 750 down to 550 in just a couple days.
I didnt want to have to add nutrients to a half eaten res, but rather just let them eat what they do before the next changout...but it looks like i will have to. Or they will have to live with a 500ppm res for over a week. Di that make sense?

anyway heres the after trim pics 3 weeks in. Its super hard to get any decent pictures now!! these dont do any justice...trust me.

Makes perfect sense to me Bro.....ppm`s droppin over a couple days and ph risin couple points sounds like that "circadian rythym" for dialed results......

Since aero`s the fastest hydro setup there is as far as increased metabolisms and supposedly faster finishes , then the accelerated growth at 3 weeks in oughta be right on track for swellage once stretch is over....

Make sure you keep the plants opened up and breathing/transpiring/absorbing lumens ftw , and don`t let em choke each other out where they`ll compete for light and environment......sideways canopy is EVERYTHING......

With my ebb and flow buckets I had a topoff rez R/O and full strength juice that alternated since I only went to each setup once a week and it would keep nutrient concentrations steady to a certain extent and ph levels in the mid 5`s to the low 6`s week to week.....

You might wanna consider doin the same thing since your plants are suckin so much juice and droppin ppm`s.so fast....

Once stretch was over I kept close to 750 ppm`s and by the time I got back a week later , they`d be in the mid 600`s from adding the topoff juice....

Just something to consider and make your life easier.....and.....the bitches don`t like bein jacked up with ppm`s and let down couple days later....so.....figure somethin out my buddy...

6-750 ppm`s across the board will make yas happy.....guaranteed.....ran em for too many yrs ....

Good luck Bro....DHF....:ying:......

I second the above...
My system is different than yours, but I do what Freds is talking about. My control units are topped off with float valves, so when the water level drops in the system, R/O water replaces it. Ideally, if you did not have top off, your ppms would stay the same. My ppms drop between 30-50 points every 24 hours due to the R/O top off. When it stops dropping I know something is wrong...

nice setup!
Plants look very happy

You will pull over 4# this time...

I gradually swing the PH up over a week period ... 5.6-6.4 in pro-mix...feeding 1000-1100ppm every other watering. Keeps everything nice and healthy...

Hey 250......Do you feed , plain water , feed , water etc.....as in feed , flush , feed , flush so on and so forth ?......if so.....

You`re actually feeding 5-600 ppm`s across the board on average since you`re diluting the nutrient concentration in the rootzone/medium every other feed , so why not just feed at lower concentrations and feed , feed , feed every watering/feed sequence.......if not....

Well then there`s lotta strains/hybrids that can take higher juice levels but why give more than they can use and risk toxicity and ph issues at some point in the game.........

Heath taught me waaaaaay back that over 750 ppm`s is a waste and constant feeds at that level keep things hoonin without any deficiency signs whatsoever , or at least it did for me with all kinds of hybrids including that whore ass Chem D that I hadta keep shovin cal/mag up her ass till she was satisfied and adjust my micro accordingly cuz 5 ml`s of cal/mag equals 2-250 ppm`s and once dialed I was runnin right at 7.5-10 ml`s per gal so you do the math in what was left for base nutes.....lol..........anyways....

Not preachin to yas but rather tryin ta save yas cash in the long run on juice expenditures......believe me......less is more.....but....

Change comes hard with growers when shit`s lookin good and they wanna keep it there , so I understand where you`re comin from in your promix setup....

Just tryin ta help....

Peace.....DHF....:ying:......

NEVER had I EVER run up on a hybrid I couldn`t dial within a couple runs till I was gifted with "Clone only Chem D" from the original plant.....but....

It`s highly possible my problems stemmed from runnin her ass in coco and having to dial in my medium/substrate`s "cation exchange capacity" till she was happy and hoonin..but again....

Whore wouldn`t root fer shit and I`ve got as green a damn thumb as there is with dope cultivars.... bet on it....so...

That`s pretty much the only reason I cuss her ass on a reg basis AOD....she mighta done fine in my old ebb and flow buckets , but we`ll never know , and then there`s the rooting issues so here we go again....

Hey DHF...Im lookin down the road for a new strain to work with. I live in SOCAL, so i have plenty of strains available to choose from. The OGs are high in demand, and i can pick up any of them. (fire og, tahoe og, diablo og etc, ) but will they do well in my system?

Never grew any kush plants except gifted Bubba S-1`s several yrs ago , so can`t comment on the OG`s Bro.....but.....

It`s worth it to find out and run them bitches since they payin top dollar ya heard?....but again....

Yas gotta run em ta see , and make sure you can fill in the sideways canopy as deep as the lights will penetrate by end of stretch for max bottomline yields come harvey...so....

Get ta work FHC.....I KNOW you`re gonna be killin it with any strain/hybrid yas dial as long as yas don`t catch root rot and kill the whole crop cuz fast hydro setup`s are dangerous like that....

Been around em and ran em for yrs cuz I knew the rules , but never ran or attempted to do aero from all the failed attempts and total crop failures late in flower from root rot ......

Last I talked with Heath , he was in the process of settin up an aero grow or already had it hoonin and hadn`t posted the thread yet , but that`s been months ago...anyways.....

You da man , and make sure yas dot all the i`s and cross all yer t`s cuz I wanna see how hard yas can squeeze this bitch and make her pump out da gpw`s....

Peace....Freds....:ying:.....

Thanks Fred. Yea, so many strains around that it makes it hard to pick the next one. Im gonna get a list of whats available to me, and post it up here. Maybe the crew can help me pick a good one.

Damm right about root rot in fast aero...gotta watch out for that. So far so good here, with the chiller and keepin flower room temps in check.

It would be cool to see Heaths aero grow!

Picked up some new strains to test out and find that keeper.

Aliendawg x Sour Double... Is supposed to be the dankest of the dank, its an elite strain and has alot of stretch. I picked up 2 different phenos of it. adub1, and dubtech7.

Alos picked up:

Louis XIII OG dank!

and Whitefire OG .

Its gonna be interesting to see how these will do in the vortex.

whitefire OG... If it's the real deal.

Sour Dub is low on yield... If it's the one I'm thinking of. IDK what aliendawg brings to the cross though.

are you gonna try and monocrop the separate walls?
