just so were all on the same page....blumats freakin ROCK! hello free time!
Don't forget your sunglasses bro! For real, my one vert attempt had me seeing spots after peeping in during lights one.
no kidding bro, Iswear when I do have to go in there with the lights on I come out seeing stripes/bars/1000w bulb filaments for a while even with the shades.
One thing i stole from checking out Red's vert garden, get a green cfl in there so you can work at night (for the plants). Save your eyes and you don't sweat as much. just my humble opinion.
right on, I did the same thing...screwed a green cfl into the light fixture already installed on the cieling of the room, and the switch is on the outside of the sectioned off part of the room i can turn it on or of before ever unzipping the room. damn good tip bro
Anyways, your set up looks dope. How is that A/C doing on keeping that room cool? I was using the CHHC-1 and my canopy temps were 80 - 86. I had to upgrade A/Cs to do that though. Sucked. $400 on the A/C but it was the biggest you could get and still run it off one 15 amp breaker. Anyways, my point is.. it gets hot as fu*k around here in the summer.
I hear ya bro and from where I'm at it's nice and HOT, when I come around to your neck of the woods it's a relief we've been in the 100's for the last couple weeks. so far the little 10k btu window banger's been workin out really good, much better than it was working last summer actually, I spent some time sealing it all up a little better and I switched all of the ducting from the conversion from 6" to 8" and put an 8" inline fan dedicated to the a/c only. I went for the 10k btu because I wanted something that would use around the same amount of juice as a 1000w light just to try and keep my bill about the same all year(irrelevant now with the smart meter and all) it's an LG and i got it on sale last summer for 179 or something. As of right now temps are @ 72 w/ lights off and 81 w/ lights on, I could also turn the a/c down about another 15 degrees so I'm sure i can get it even cooler in there without too much trouble.
Love the variety as well. I can never bring myself to mono-crop even though i know it would help yields.
you and me both bro, closest thing I've done to a monocrop is 2 strains at once and i was pretty bored with that as well, gotta love the spice of life.
So i am no expert (but there are a bunch of experts in the forum) but for me my vert could have benefited from a lot more training. Ideally i would have used chicken wire or something like that to make a wall of bud. My lower stuff didn't really turn into much so i would get rid of anything that didn't make it to the 'wall o' bud'
thanks I've been really on the fence about removing lower growth and whatnot, the horizontal grower in me tells me to take off any branch with a small b/s stem, anything that just looks weak in general, but a lot of the advice floating in the vert forum say to trim up the back of the plant as if it were the lower stuff, I guess that makes sense although I've pretty much pulled all branches on all plants forward towards the light and used bamboo and garden wire to train them all in that way. I'll probably get the trellis put in today the ECSD is a straight up 6'6" monster probably 4 ft wide and really needs to get put under control as well as many of the others.
I'll be 'tagging' along... if i can help with anything give me a shout
btw, i'm stoked to see some examples of your SFV
EDIT: ALSO, ha ha.. if you guys are loving these blumats so much i might have to get em a shot. Do they keep the perfect moisture level in the coco?
thanks for stopping in glad to hear that the raspberry stood out, i've seen it grown out by an amateur (not that im much more than) i was teachin a while back it showed potential for sure, he moved his happy ass back to texas and passed the cut my way before he left this is the first time i will have ran it. my mango haze cut was gifted to me and is a verified CF cut also a first in my garden so i can't really comment on variation. i was told the jack was a bit more of a mersh cut but it's one of the frostiest at this point. i smoked the sensi star at the vegas cup but quite honestly with over 100 varieties of some of the best grown herb it was hard to remember much about it other than it had bag appeal out the yin yang and could have potentially been a cup winner but there wasn't enough to make an entry. i too am very excited for this run... I plan on takin my og's to at least 70 days and the east coast and mango will go at least 80, thanks again for stoppin in pics will go up in the next couple daysYours mom's seduced me to check out the page....but it's good to be here. Everything look real nice. I love the variety and set up. I saw some raspberry kush at the high times med cup a few weeks ago. It definitely was the strain at a particular booth that really stood out...The other selections...well, they are pretty much as good as it get...it's about time the I put in an order for the mango and nevilles haze...did you make the selection or did you get the cut...I was wondering if there was much variation in the pack.
Sensi Star and Jack don't get the most of attention these days but you are definitely holding on to two gems that should never be tossed. It has honestly been years since I have smoked real good the sensi star (although I smoked some decent commersh/despens product a few weeks ago)...would you describe the flavor as more complex than most other strains? Maybe not compared to your moms but you know, the A-AA, not the AAA. AAA in my mind must possess a good long finish...good og's usually have this which of course you have many. Much respect and I cannot wait to see the finished product.

thanks for stoppin in GS. I totally hear ya about being on the fence, hell...i'm still on it lol I've definitely learned not to count my chickens...and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works out, I got the trellis put up today and things are lookin like there is some potential so hopefully it'll work out lol. dealing with a mild infestation of root aphids at the moment but i have some bayer tree & shrub on hand ready to go tomorow after lights out. a/c w/ co2 is the only possible way i can keep my room in operation through summer...livin in the desert blows this time of year. Finally tagging in
Looks amazing. I was really on the fence whether or not I would do vert when I built my room. I see this thread and I'm still on the damn fence lol I do think I may be heading towards A/C and C02 soon so, glad you're covering it for me
Impressive genetics list, winners, all of em.
Enjoy your garden
