it's not like i have any actual test results to show the extra blue and red really helps anything,but from what i see and smoke tells me they're on to something...

I believe the new diablo boards address that but I'm not certain. Also the qb96 has a lot of blue. Some folks claim the extra blue kills their stretch but who knows.
And yes unreg is correct. There is the bspec but it's more for veg than flower.
i don't see plants stretching as being a good thing when using leds,i want them to stay compact...but then again i kinda suck at growing so i'm probably wrong about all of it!

i forgot the doggos were coming over...got them for like 6 days this time...the longer visits are almost better since it gives them a better chance to get used to how i like them to act...i.e. which part of the bed is for them!

Morning fellas, stoked to hear about the HLG sale time to count all of my pennies! Why not grab another 60 for your other 550, Unc? That should be enough blue and red, I would imagine. Funny we just got rid of the blurple only to find out they were beneficial, lol! I liked my old UFO for veg, but hated the way the spectrum skewed the way I perceived the actual plant colors. Sometimes it made it harder to diagnose or even recognize a problem. I'm still getting great results with my vert cab though, and those are only a mix of 3000k and 3500k with no reds or blues. I think they might take slightly longer to finish up, but that kind of helps with the higher plant count.

I did some sifting and some hash pressing over the weekend...
I've certainly gotten better at sifting over the past few years...
On my initial sifts now, I am able to get some very white stuff that just melts together from the heat of my thumbs...
I've also realized parchment paper packets are the way to go when storing sift for a few weeks..
After pressing it into hash, I store it in little "food saver" vacuum packs
Because of the humidity here, I can't keep sift dry powdery for extended periods, so I just press it into hash...
Here's some of my hash.. Some is a bit green tinted, but it still smokes great..
But the clean sift I'm getting now just melts into beautiful brown or black balls.
I'm gonna take the crumbly looking stuff at the bottom right of the picture and sprinkle it in some cookie dough this week..
i figure about 1/4 gram in some of the cookies and 1/3 gram in the rest...

My main tent had 2 315 cmh and the HLG 320 in the center of the tent. Both 315 where on a 18/6 schedule. HLG 320 would stay on for 6 hrs while the others were off. I had the 320 6' above the plants. I did this because some of my A5hbx out crosses would start flowering under 18/6. I had to keep a light on for that 6hr off time. I noticed all the plants in the center where not doing well. It started when I changed the schedule to have the led 320 on and the CMH off.
Im using the 3 board. I have 3 boards lol. Im using the same thing that would be included in HLG 320 kit. Only difference is I added 1 4k board. No clue what the spectrum is with this custom config.
Nice hash stash, Bud! It looks like you've gotten the technique down. I was always too aggressive with hand sifting, and got super green, crumbly hash. Now I throw it in a washing machine, beat it to death, and get a better result. Go figure, lol!
Hammer- were the plants super young? 6' should be far enough away from seedlings, even at full blast, I would think. Hmm.... I have nuked mine a bunch of times with just an L.E.D. shop light too, though. It might take a little fiddling with the dimmer, as Joe mentioned. The good meters are pricey, and the "cheap" ones are pretty crappy, but they do take the hocus pocus guesswork out of it. Hydro stores should rent those and resin presses. Actually, Mars should make affordable versions of both. You heard it here first, folks
