I posted this in a seperate thread, but if anybody knows wtf this bug is please let me know! He shot out and landed on my hand while I was watering, flew with much intention, unlike the few fungus gnats hanging around!
Oh yeah, that thing coming out of its ass was some kind of long stinger / egg layer? that stayed alive after the thing was smushed, trying to get me!
Here are a few pics from day 20 12/12... as you can see Im still battling the jungle, Im running out of room! On the one hand, Im glad I have all these healthy girls, but this space would have been better off with half as many, half as big but thats just the way she goes i guess! Hopfully my new bulb has enough juice to cut through the jungle, if not Im gonna have a lot of fluffy buds!
this shot reminds me of apocalypse now for some reason
thanks! got motivated today and did some good tying down in there today (hopfully) the last of it, or close! Now only two of the plants can come out lol but I can still water the others, its just too crazy to be moving most of them, so their perminant tie downs have been established, plants weaved into plants, whatever it takes! Im running out of materials haha ive got the most random assortment of stuff that Im training with, Im just grabbin whatever I see around the house and workin with it! Heres a couple more bud shots from today before the camera took a crap!
ok, here we are.. due for a little update (day 31 12/12). Buds are frosting up nice, plants overall are doing pretty well... way too cramped, but whats a guy to do? Live and learn! I went into this round with no expectations really, just happy to finally do a summer grow, but then things were going so well, so I got expectations, but now Im back to just happy with whatever lol. Buds are frosting up pretty good for day 30 i think, cant really tell any difference between the satori girls.... which is not what I expected at all, but whatever, they are all pretty frosty and nice smelling. Right now my two problems are some buds/leaves bein too damn close to the bulb (2 or 3 inches) so they have some funky yellows, but the buds are doin fine, and I cant train anymore, so they are just gonna have to deal with it . Oh yeah, and night time humidity is creepin up a little too high for my tastes (high 60's) so I got a little damp rid b.s thing in there, see if that does anything, if not, looks like we'll just be wearin winter pj's to bed and crankin the ac! lol
well here are some pics, enjoy!
oh yeah, only two plants come out of there now, so I tried to take some 'internal pictures' of my beautiful disaster so you might be able to get a better idea of the jam ive got myself into haha
heres a c-99 bud I managed to identify among the tangled masses:
haha thanks guys, another month or so and I can chop this jungle down and move on to bigger prospects! I have some pretty good plans cookin for some deep strawberry diesel im itchin to pop!
also, suprised nobody noticed the knife clipped to a carabiner weighting the branch down in the pic above lol. whatever it takes is what i say!
ok, for the sake of completeness heres a little (day 43) 12/12 update. these pictures are becoming a little redundant because the fact of the matter is i cant even see a lot of the buds in the cab! haha strange situation, to grow something for months and not even see it, but it should make for some interesting harvest time fun. i had a recent fungus gnat outbreak, but its almost under control thanks to some mosquito dunks and peanut butter scented sticky traps lol dont knock it, couldnt find any of the yellow ones at the store! from what i can see so far all the satori x c99 plants except one have expressed themselves exactly how i was invisioning in my mind, less leaves, better bud structure, while maintaing the nice frost coverage and generally bigger calyx/buds of the satori.... strange, usually things dont work out so easy! anyway, enough yapping, on with the pics!
anybody who doubts the frostiness of this cross refer to the leaf stem here ~
heres a partial shot of one of the bud 'walls', hard to get any good perspective in there...some buds are uncomfortably close to the bare bulb (1-2") but they are putting up with it well!
heres an identifiable c-99 bud, probably yellowing up a bit soon, but thats just the way she goes:
last but not least heres a satori x bud, twisted and burned from mistreatment, but alive and well from good intentions!
thanks for tuning into my summer jungle experiment, more updates next week!
next round is in the works, should be more of a show : deep strawberry diesel in a 4 x 4 tent with a 600w stacked on a 400w vertical! i'll at least be able to get some decent pics not on my hands and knees!
thanks for checkin them out guys! labtec, your labs are very inspirational, i'm sure you'll nail the c-99 no problem... second time growing it out, and it's not been a problem either time.
although i must say, the crossed plants so far, using a c-99 male, seem superior in every way... i think i got lucky choosing a good male, i just used my biggest, best lookin one, didnt really let it flower at all...... but i'll take some dumb luck anytime!
Tagged. I've thought real hard about changing my homebox XL to going vert lately, this might help me make a decision. Not to mention the fact that the girls look awesome and I like the cross.
