The Rays have been been breaking hearts the last few days

swept the double header in Boston yesterday and beat the Yankmees tonight in 14.

We will see about Tanaka, Rays first time seeing him does not bode well.

hey 'nutz, we're up next!

you going to any of the games???

I'm scouting StubHub for Yankees@Twins tix for their visit here. :)

they meet over the 4th of July, going on the 4th means great seats as most folk do family stuff instead of ball games, always an excess of great seats & lower prices. And July 4th is Lou Gehrig bobblehead night.

We always get tickets for Legends seating, Legends Club.
Our seats would be to the left, other side of the windows.
16 sections, 1st deck enjoy Legends, eat inside & watch
or eat in your padded seat with waiter service, all amenities.

This is one of the upscale buffets available in the Legends.
The Delta Sky360, $23 for one pass; plate, salad, & soup.

The Rod Carew Buffet, was $20 for the same as above.

seating @ the Rod Carew buffet.

Food & drink prices! Folks should never be surprised @ the cost of food at ball games. The Twins built an awesome facility but they can mostly only cater to a sellout/near sellout crowd 81 days a year & for only 3 hours each of those days, so fuck yeah, you're paying $7 for a domestic beer! A decent steak sandwich is $11-12 there so spending $20/$23 on one of the buffets is a no brainer; a finer quality food, a good full plate, soup, salad, roll etc...

The rest of the Legends Club has all sorts of other food, each vendor having their own stand, it has an upscale ice cream & gelato stands, and there are Caribou Coffee kiosks here & there that also offer liqueurs to punch up your brew.

The bathrooms in the Legends section rival those in any of the nicest hotels or restaurants, clean spacious, private, only thing they'd be missing is a washroom attendant.

I usually sit in section H or J with the broadcast booth(s) to my back, right over home plate, beast seats in the house. Legends club is the first deck above field level, couldn't be nicer.

I can't friggin' wait.......

I dont even know if Ill be able to watch anymore of the games. The bullpen has been hard to watch!
If we dont start winning a few series its gonna be tough to catch anyone in the west...
Seatle is playing good ball too.
The Astros even beat up on the Angels! Its really unbearable!

we just had the Mariners in The Bronx, in was good to see Cano there too, I wondered if he'd show us some 'no hustle' on the base paths, he didn't disappoint.

he missed so many opportunities as a Yankee, he'd break out of the batters box real slow, only to see a bobbled ball beat him to 1st base where instead he should have been standing safe had he hustled from the start.

anyway, later innings in the 2nd game and Cano hits a chopper off the dirt in front of the plate that sails into the very short outfield where it's bobbled instead of being played cleanly, Cano though, after seeing/thinking it was going to be played as an easy out lowered his head right out of the box and kept it down as he trotted slowly toward first, then he turned on the afterburners when his teammates screamed for him to get moving, he never saw that the ball had been misplayed, he was too slow in getting to the bag....... :)

That game just wouldn't end! I thought that the Ray's closer was going to blow the tie anytime during the three consecutive innings where the Yanks had 2 on base with outs to spare. The rays offensive jams and how most of their runs seem to be earned in sporadic bursts often make for a dramatic game with this team :biglaugh: .

Baseball's instant replay - It can be good, bad and just plain ugly...

Baseball's instant replay - It can be good, bad and just plain ugly...

With the new replay system now in use, it was bound to happen. The first "walk off win' from a call reversal. Bottom of the 9th, Giants/Pirates tied 1-1, Pirate's Starling Marte called out at the plate, reviewed, and then called safe= Boom-bada-bing -A walk-off video replay win...

ironically, Buster Posey, Giant's catcher, couldnt fully block the plate because of another new rule (named after him- the Buster Posey rule) that prevents a catcher from doing so, to reduce collision injuries. And, insult to injury, Timmy Hudson, the Giants f'n awesome new pitcher, WENT the whole nine innings and comes away with an "L"..." Man, Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio...?" cc

he was out though,

You can blame that loss on the horrible, and uncalled for, throw to third by the inexperienced cutoff man. Clearly that is the reason you guys lost that game.

Wasnt the point of my post. Just that the "traditions of baseball' has lost something with the instant replay. As I said, it can be good, bad, and sometimes, just plain ugly...Just my opinion...cc

i agree,

my A's have been on the bad end of some of the new rules, was pretty bummed watching opponents bobble and drop the ball on purpose even though they obviously made a out catch.

Yeah I am going to miss all those terrible umpire calls:rolleyes:, at least they still got balls and strikes to blow.

We have seen this year how many calls get overturned this year, just imagine how many calls cost teams in the past

That game was tough to watch at the end cowboy, you got that right!! Not sure how I feel about the replay rule, it's deff changed the way the game flows.....whatshisname should never have thrown the ball to third, the game could have had a totally different outcome.
