wow! I never realized how many Yankees fans there are coast to coast.......
And so it shall be written...Giants win 12 to 10 in 12 innings. Hicks, Belt, Morris and Sanchez homer for the G-men. Morris and Sanchez each homer twice with Sanchez's homer in the 12th, a grannie and game winner...shweet! BTW, Kuiper's got the best home run call in baseball- "He hits it hiiiigh,,,he hits it deeeeep...and it's...OUTTA HERRRRE...Bye bye baby...!"
Did I tell ya, I like this Michael Morris dude? He's gonna be the next big thing in the bay. His swing is a thing of beauty. Every so often, his good swings remind me of that of Jose Canstinko...I mean Canseco, just without 'roid help. lol CC

The other day was a Duane Kieper bobblehead, I would love to get my hands on that.
and this one day at band camp I.......
ooops.
Back in NY I lived about 16 miles from Yankee Stadium, going to games was a common occurrence especially during the playoffs or world series. I either bought tickets from friendly sources nearby my home or I risked buying scalped, I never got bogus tickets nor ripped off flashing $$$ buying scalped and I/we never failed to find scalped tickets.
so to go to Game 3 of the 1999 World Series or not.
I had dibs on a box seat, field level for $150.
Skip my taxi shift costing me about $250.
Parking $25 & another $20 (tip) to park it close.
Souvenir jersey, the best jersey was $160 in '99
Food & beverage $30
Totaling $635 for the night.
So I worked instead, ran the Yankees game on the radio and as an out-of-town fare I had to pick up a father/son @ the Yankees game, it went to 10 innings as I waited up on the Grand Concourse and I got to hear the crack of the bat on the radio & then the cheer went up like crazy from the stadium 2 blocks away.
Chad Curtis had hit a walk off homer. The cheer from the stadium, the shouts from fellow drivers waiting and dozens & dozens of horns blasting was a cool experience for sure.
and now a game awaits my attention.......
