growing is trial and error and fuck loads of pepople here tellin all about there trial and error,
so a new dude can learn from others mistakes without making them himself.
still trial and error tho ccause diff methods of growing favor diff minds of growing..

I think alot of it has to do with age. From age 14-19 i had friends like you speak of.But the site and its owners, do set the tone.If you surround yourself with an intelligent learning enviroment ,and people as such ,well ...you know....:ying:

Snagglepuss ... you're right! the values within an organisation travel from top downwards. uncertainty at the top rots the organisation.

and the inquiring mind must get smarter even tho it often gets into trouble for asking too many questions!

I too don't think bad spelling/grammar makes you stupid

I would even say that, some people who stop themselves at that, might actually be looking for people's short-comings

so as to, accept their own/make them feel better about themselves

i'm not perfect either :)

I believe that our culture often uses the word smart as a substitution for the word memory. It's as though the more you can remember, the smarter you are. Are you smarter than a fifth grader, for instance. I always thought that smart was synonymous with intelligence?

Just a little something I wanted to throw out there. I agree with everyone mentioning spelling and other things as having nothing to do with intelligence. Those of us that went through the public schools in the states had to accept learning with a "left hemisphere brain" delivery. Public schools had me Placed as a C-B student. I'm Very right brain dominant and organized thought, math and memory are not my strong suits. Yet somehow, my IQ test scores imply that I could choose any carrier I wanted, which isn't the case in real life. We really can't have all that accurate of a measurement of ones intelligence, without better defined aspects of the mind for a clearer picture of ones overall mental abilities.

So are you saying that you don't understand the question?
Or that the question requires a narrower set of parameters before you are able to formulate a viable response which lacks camouflaging gibberish and rhetoric?

And that's why as a nation the US is fucked. Our leaders are all fucking lying scumbags...hence, we're a nation of fucking lying scumbags. Monkey see, monkey do!

We need LEADERS...not vote grovelers!

If I have to "decode" what you have to say...I'll just move on. There are a lot of people who THINK they are smart...few fit the bill. Spelling IS a sign of intelligence...you must however be smart enough to realize it.

"Smart" is being able to not only remember things...it's also the ability to relate seeming unrelated things. It's using what you remember in new situations. It's coming to solutions.

We don't have many "smart" people any more...not in my daily experiences. TPTB don't want "smart" people. They want fools who will fall for their advertisements and buy their products. Be it their candidate for president or some POS on some TV ad. Quiet and obedient...that's what they teach...from birth.

This site definitely aims to set a high standard for itself, but I've actually noticed quite a bit of foolhardy arrogance here and a group favoritism towards a more conspiracy-theory oriented takes on events.

Then I've also seen a number of people getting roasted when speaking about economic or political events when they were right on the money.

Just the 2c of a quiet observer.

well, for me smart means how quickly and how well one adapts to new circumstances ... like figuring out what to say in fifteen seconds when the man is thumping heavily on yr front door.

this is the problem ... the Irony even ... of politics and all leadership ... that to become a leader one must reflect the group's (nation's) viewpoint on most things ... which is a conservative position ... and that conservative position means the leader mostly regurgitates the old, the known, in order to maintain her/his leadership. so there is nothing new, there is not often anything smart, and things continue the way they have always been ...

The first is easy...you say nothing and hope they leave a note! Otherwise, use the time to destroy the evidence before they break down the door!

As to the second...politicians tell EVERY audience what THEY want to hear...even if it's the opposite of what they just told another group. You play to your audience.

I think every single grower or connoisseur i have met seemed to be of higher intelligence then those who are not. Maybe they just actually have common sense, as we all know its not that common. ;)

I know quite a few people who only smoke "mids"..and well, there is just something about them, the On switch isnt always On so to speak. Maybe its all the chemicals in the smoke, who knows.

disagree!!! that's not my experience! but what I wanted to say was that something 'smart' about this site is it's member msging service.
because everyone can read what you write then the site can't be used for private criminal business.
this is transparent communication. transparent communication is the root of democracy.
(I mean democracy, not what US and Brit politicians call 'democracy'. not what the west says it's is trying to do in the muslim world.)

Im on the east coast and know a couple people who grow for personal use and there is nothing unintelligent about them, one has his masters in statistics. You would never guess he smoked a day in his life looking at him. If your dumb and grow over here you dont last long.
