Really? What's the cross? I'm trying out this Mikado thing....thinking if it's based off the original that I could work it into the BS2.2 or any of the 2.2 outcrosses I've made.....or even the LUI.

I'm going to pollinate the Mikado I have in flower....probably with Satechism pollen (since that has the 2.2 in it....the pollen is vac sealed in the fridge...maybe still good)....but if the Satechism pollen is bunk...probably hit her with I-HOP Grape Krush.

The 2.2 is good stuff...I've had plenty of fun in there.

"These plants...no filter....no grow....they reek with that certain odor that automatically makes you know....'hey man that's some good dope'....there is no denying the smell of these lines. I fucking love the smell....I know it even when its buried under something else. Before seed germination....I knew that I was in for a great run....not even one concern or doubt. This stuff has potential... on any given run...to hit the Top Shelf.....a bank vault for keeping some funk in your garden...at $85 a pac ('08) a total score. Also probably the most skunky cross I've grown...old skool".

funny you say that about the filter, i used to vent thru the roof till i got a pack of DD for $80 in 2008. it was amusing smelling the skunk down the block, but it wasn't worth the risk. plenty of fresh carbon these days.

...I haven't checked into to that one...for some reason I thought (not sure why) she used a different version of Blue Satellite. I for sure like the 2.2 for outcrossing....can't figure anything put with C99 is going to suck either. I'll say....DG has access to some choice stock....I saw all the threads for her joint projects with Rez recently...having access to Gypsy's vault doesn't hurt either. Props to her dedication to getting out the juice.

...all the genetics are getting passed around....wasn't it just like 2yrs ago...peeps were super stoked just to have a shot at C99 again (on the commercial bean market)?....and now peeps are hyped on the re-release of Sweet Tooth....it's cool I think....all the availability....and all the recombos are at the same time...forcing change.

As long as shit keeps changing I'm pretty stoked....there are benefits to grower whims and genetic trends.

...I just read what you said in K+ (thanks)....you may have hit it on the head there.....saying the slight sweetness may in fact be a grapefruit slightness.....yup...that's it....coming from the Diesel side...that strikes me as correct....not quite sweet but more grapefruity under everything else....buried but there perfectly below the skunky fuel...a complex aroma..just choice.

and I think it was only $80 a pac I paid as well....I snagged 2 pacs at the time when all those troll rolling threads were going down on his forum.....2 pacs and a few yrs later...still rolling with DD. I'm more than happy to be in that club....

Chem DD (Chem line)....reminds me of old skool 80's weed that is always deep in the folds of my memory....it's the closet thing to that weed I've grown to date.

Some dude up in the hills (of CO?) is probably the master we've never seen on the internet boards....somebody was not lucky...but very skilled. That's my opinion....I don't think...poof...I think someone did some work....and is a mighty talent.

Well Monk....I heaven't been over to look at which Satellite DG used...but that's kind of how I was thinking...I'm sure she dug back into Gypsy's collection and used an older Satellite. My "no buy beans" rule....gets in my way there. What comes my way or what I make is how I roll....and I'm honestly beyond tired of C99 right now....though I wager $$$$$ that finding Satellite phenos will be simple and probably dominant.

Yup...I'm really fond of my Mikados....same thing....I had a pac of beans I bought more than a year ago...when I knew Federation was going tits up....looking for a more original Sweet Tooth...one way or the other...I'll come at it from multiple genetics and directions. I've found certain flavors in SWT outcrosses that make it worth while to run down....digging my way to that consistent sweet fruity gooey thick taste....

Calizahr....I ran 1 pac....yuppers...just like Chimera will tell you....you will find the Cali O....and you will find some Ortega leaners as well. In the F1....that's how they seemed to go....nothing really in between. I used multiple females of both phenotypes to make the F2. Easy plants...very mellow orange flavored smoke...not super potent....all about the "orange trait". I really like Calizahr for unlocking the orange....and I like the chill high. Good to have in the collection....I'll run some F2s some day.....probably with Red Eyed Bride f2s....for some reason I just want to keep mashing those two citrus lines....staying away from C99 citrus for now lol...

I'll say this....the ChemDD or the new version/name CDSD (same cross different dads I assume)....is a wealth of great genetics....made to incross and fine tune....you could make a living off what is in those beans....incross outcross just cross

....I can't keep up with all those two peeps are doing. Every few wks...I read about a new project. Cool by me...keep flooding that stuff out. The marketing is absurd....but it fires the buyers up....nothing wrong with that....the genetics obviously will back their play.

The thing I've found: after a while the mash of flavors/lines starts becoming generic....but it's great if you are in collecting mode. After a while or when you get deep in similar genetics...it becomes redundant....I enjoy watching the show however....bidding wars...specials....fuck it....2 for 1 today folks...step up step up

From my point of view....the F1 (introduction cross) is not the final product....just an ante into the game. Often I don't find much personality in "elite" mashes...just their routine expressions...jumping through hoops...

Until I can grow in a greenhouse....I resolve myself to 50-65 day hybrids...but DTC99 must be insane. I'm surprised the C99 didn't cut down the flower Xs. Is 13wks consistent?

not really,the keeper pheno was done at 72 days and these probably went a bit long because i gave them transitional nutes for a couple weeks rather than right to flowering nutes,have a second round of the keeper pheno going already and just started them right off on flowering nutes,so we shall see if that brings flower time down any.

i thought i might get bored with all the C99 crosses i grew last round but the smoke was varied enough that it didnt just become pineapple flavored bud#1 out of 5...so far i have been more than pleased with everything i have grown of DG's,free seeds are great and all,but its what goes into the jar that really matters,and i am very pleased in that regard...

...it is all about what goes into the jars....surely that is what it is all about....and the most direct/easy way to get it there. That's the bottom line....and if the bottom line was all it was about I'd be bored out of my mind.

It's the pathways as far as I'm concerned...every cultivator finding their own way to excellence....and perhaps...creating something in between. It ain't a race....it ain't power trips...and it ain't a business to me...just hobby questing. The other stuff I admit to finding funny...

I hold nothing against the peeps making it their livelihood....why would I? I use them...they use me...payed for. What a pita of a biz to be in for those involved.

It's no rocket science though....I mean...what are the prerequisites for being a bean breeder again?...just a fine unregulated market...a few key/popular genetics...and a market strategy....thank the gods....nobody needs to reinvent the wheel.

the pablos homie i'll admit the DD has caught my gaze, especially grown vertically her long legs respond well to side lighting. this has kept me engaged and fascinated for a few years since 2008, previous to that it was 51 day indica creeper grown sog in 1 gal buckets that I repeated from clone for 14 years. changes to my genetics and methods come slowly so i can't fully immerse myself in the seed purchasing community.

My DD has put out a few herm seed, and i mean like a seed or two per lb. growing and testing those few seeds took me better part of a year. the seeds turned out well, femmed copies of the DD mom. i mainly get the nanner by pushing the plants within inches of a bare 430w.

pablos if you dont mind me asking, are you feeling the sweet tooth love? the tooth fairy doesn't have the pull on me like some old skool 80s funk! i can share some pics here if you'd like sometime.

Man...that's the thing. I'm not about anything all the way balls deep. I do pay attention to peeps grows...pay attention to my friends and elders and what they have in their gardens...do my research...source out (mostly just make it) what I want at the moment...and give it a turn. Some stuff measures up.....some stuff is imagination and propaganda/hype....however...

by outcrossing into my own concepts....I sometimes find what I'm looking for. Sweet Tooth....famous for some flavorful phenotypes...can yield...has favorable structure in a lot of phenotypes....sure man I'm interested but not unrealistic. There is good and poor in every cross....some need to be heavily sorted...some do not.. when looking for Shiners.

Sweet Tooth seems to like to show through in outcrosses...and I'll tell you....the phenos that leaned that way in my Satechism cross (Casey x BS2.2) were all very very tasteful...very berry....very good. Do I need to have the new Sweet Tooth? Nope. Am I interested in seeing peeps grow it? Yup. Do I think it will be good? Yup....I'd look for the flavor that blends berry and grapefruit. Citrus over berry....balanced high...fat yielder...sure they are in there.

80's funk....that's why I'll continue my plight with the Chems. For some reason...it brings back memories of lime green,spongey (though Chem is not), golf ball flowers...that had red hair easily visible...hair diameter modest...hair coverage modest...I only had it once or a few Xs....circa mid 80's...never had a really fat sack either as it was pricey....and me young and po'.

Post up pix dude....I've grown selfs...but not from my DD....and found mostly...yup...semi accurate representation of the mom.

perfect description of my kalimist x g13haze...there was a kali sativa that had a bland high and taste, a dud. the shiner was a dense hard indica that reeked of kali mist spice! that 56 day cross gave me intense paranoia and grooming rage! a true poly poly hybrid!

Ingredients:

1. Kali Mist X ChemDKush F2(Kali Mist phenotype)

2. Original Haze X Skunk#1 (Haze phenotype)

3. Flo Highland= Flo X Highland Mex x Blueberry (floral sativa)

4. Strawberry Hill (Haze phenotype)




Get your work done...blaze a bone...crank some live Cream and some Circle Jerks....blazed out riding the Indo Board...walking the plank.

Here's a jar I needed to get into....to make my blend....



The loose buds are OH X SK#1 and Flo Highland....the petrified blue turd...is something I made last spring...

Some may remember from another thread (pet project) that after I harvested one of the TFlux Highland...I compressed a few of her tops together...intertwined them with string and wrapped them in brown paper bag to dry....then jar cured them...

...well that's what that turd looking thing is...and I damn sure do cut me off pieces from time to time. It gets you really high...lol...but the flavor is kind of tomb like...petrified flavor...no mold
