i am basiclly an illegal alien here, because i dont have my original birth certificate even if i ordered it today which is 50$ i dont have plus 20 $ in fees for the ID thats 70 bucks for a card with my picture on it,id have to wait 2 weeks for it to get here from the east coast, then id have to wait another 2 weeks for them to send me my ca state id in the mail... its too much bullshit by the time my months up ill have already harvested my bud and smoking on a few lbs of dank headband and purp barney.... i already paied 200$ for a doc's "consulatation" so lets say i did have 70 bucks to just throw away for a fancy holographic card with a RF chip in it. Im not big on the whole REAL ID act to be honest I don't want the government having my prints and my retina just laying around for them to search for anytime they damn well please.... as far as the "machine" knows im still back east... and i like it that way.

It sounds like you're more mad about having to get a Cali ID then MMJ by reading this post and thread. I understand where you are coming from, I moved here 4 years ago and had to get a new ID, but that is how it is anywhere you move..... They accepted my Social security card, non- original birth certificate and out of state (expired) DL.

As other have stated in this thread I am happy that steps are being taken in the right direction. It may be slower than we would like but change is happening none the less. There are bills in CA for legalization that are going through, as well as federal bills for decriminalization of small amounts.

i wish i could use my non original birth certificate and out of state id and social card to get my ca state id but i have already tried all that and they turned me down like i was an illegal alien....

it really sounds like your butthurt that you were denied admission into clubs because you refuse to get a California id and thats why you want it completely legal.
you have to have a California id with doctors recommendation, state card or ocbc card to get into any club in the bay area and most likely California, why do you think your the exception?

I bet there will always be something in your life your not satisfied with norcal get over it and go get a fucking id. This thread isn't to disrespect anyone I have friends who are very close with dennis peron and medical marijuana was made for CANCER AND AIDS PATIENTS so if your not dying you don't need MMJ medical marijauana might make your quality of life better but your not terminally ill don't try to claim that you need it. Tell Clayton Holton of Granite Staters for Medical Marijuana that you need medical marijuana.... then come talk to me about being "butthurt" because someone who is truely sick told you, that you don't need medical marijuana.....

If it had not been for medical marijuana, there would NOT be the current situation around the world where cannabis laws are changing. If it had been the rec users pushing for change, with no mention of medical, the laws would still be as they were 20 years ago.
This constant gripping by rec users that they are getting a hard deal out of this is quite sad. Med use has brought this issue to international prominence and I applaud that.
Given time, the law on rec use may be reviewed, but as was said earlier in this thread, there are some difficult issues with that.

I have serious pain, not just some fucking eye twitch. I have smoked cannabis for over 20 yrs, I first used it recreationally, illegally, but then my back broke, I was qualified for mmj coz I also have to take heavy meds, if cannabis is the only thing to help me keep the amount of shit I take daily , ,,.,. down, well then I would be kissin some ass to get my card, I would/have paid the fees ,nevertheless, even if I didn't have the card, my state doesn't prosecute personal possesion of an ounce or under, so I would surmise whether I get it illegally or legally I'm still gonna get it. the only difference is, my dispensary carries well known strains of high quality buds and hash, regardless, even they werent open here, I would still get it off the blakc market..
point is; i'm sure you have aquired thru black market, so , do it again.

MMJ cards and policies are just one tiney baby step for regulation, like alcohol and tobacco, it took prohibition to tell us alcohol was here to stay, it would be a shock to AMERICANS in the mainstream to all out legalize cannabis tomorrow just the same as the government telling us there are aliens tomorrow. AMerica is ALMOST ready for legal cannabis, there are still too many nay sayers. I thin kmmj policies area step in the right direction at least.

once again you tell me to get an ID , like i can just snap my fingers and get an ID like im in a normal state.... ive never had so much trouble in my life getting anything, even my passport was aquired easier than this famous "CA STATE ID"

there is nothing in my life that im not satisfied with that does that have to do with anything? im 100% satisfied with my life but im not satisfied with the 10000 holes i have dig up to get a state id....

Oh and please forgive me for thinking that a notarized copy of a birth certificate, social security card, and Drivers license is enough to get the name of the state on my ID card changed.... easier said than done, you obviously didn't move here from another state...

I would ask myself would I be better off spending the time and money jumping through the hoops to become a recognized California resident, or spending the money to move back to wherever and whatever you moved away from. Then decide and take action.

By the way, check out how long you can live in California before you must get a California drivers license. (It might be as little as 15 days, if you find out for sure let us know.)

Thanks for the constructive advice, its true it would be harder for me to move back to the east coast and more expensive than getting my ID but the thing is im out of bud now, and i have no problem ordering my original birth certificate and all that jazz but that takes weeks, and by then my harvest will be done. Not only do i have to wait for my original birth certificate but i have to wait for the CA dmv to send me my id card that alone they said will take 2-3 weeks....

i would also like to add i was polite to all the dispensarys that turned me down because i know they didn't write the laws and they have to cover their asses but id still like to see wher it says you must have a california id AND a doc's rec....im not saying its not a law id just like to see an excerpt from PROP 215 that states you must have ID and REC to get in....

also would like to mention that i am a CA resident just becuase i don' thave a CA id dosn't mean i dont live here
