hey basscadet, looks like you snuck in there while i was posting. gigabud doesn't really get that stinky at all, kind of a fuelly smell, but not a huge deal. it's pretty indica and so it doesnt have that skunk sativa sort of stank to it. hope that helps out. i'm going to swing over and check out your grow in a second.

hey hazy, glad to know you're always lurkin ... those smaller ones got tossed. I don't know what happened with them, they were happy clones, great roots, i put them in the hempys and they went to shit. oh well, they are gone now, there was actually no time for them to veg anyways.

high temps ... not really. The 78CFM fan on top of the box and the passive intakes keep it cool enough. Mostly my concern is keep the ambient temperature of the outside room / closet low enough so that it remains cool enough inside. I think the temp may be too high on occasion, but I am not overly concerned, especially since it will be coming down in the next 2.5 months or so.
The box dimensions are on the first page, but they are 20"Lx24"Wx40"H.

another little update after a crazy long weekend.
hope everyone had a great memorial day weekend ... i know i did. good friends, good food, good weather ... what more can i ask for ? i'm a lucky man.
things are goin well in the secretgarden. R5 is really blowing up and I had to LST them, which is causing even more space problems. Not sure how to handle that other than stay on top of them each day, try to get an even canopy workin out. I will survive, alas it is all a learning curve. Just to keep my numbers straight, we are at:
R3 = 49
R4 = 28
R5 = 6
anyways, i'm really tired now, so im just going to throw up a couple of pics. stay safe everyone,

this is R4 that is really blowin up. They had a lot of space their first 3 weeks and were all topped and LSTd so they are in great shape. should be some nice yields. also R4 is when I think I finally figured the secret to the PowerSkunk. Def best with multiple tops.
same crew, i'll try to get some closeups in the next week when they all get blown up nice.

i know there are tons of lurkers out there, gettin a lot of views so i will keep posting pics (probably every 3 days or so) and some quick updates as we go.
just got back from nyc after a couple of days and shit has really blown up. i am a little worried my R4 is rootbound, but they seem to be doing ok, just droppin some lower fan leaves here and there. I have one of the power skunks that is just a stunning plant at the moment. Everything is all packed tight and pretty much the entire plant is nugget, lots of multiple tops, so I am happy with that. Always learnin, ya know? Glad I figure out how to run her because everyone loves her. Always askin for the power skunk...
I dropped the R4 down a little lower tonight (i dont raise the lights, i lower the plants) and actually raised the R5 up. The R4 got lowered because they are pretty much done with their stretch right now. The R5 got LST'd to keep them away from the lights, but chances are I am going to have to drop them back down in a couple of days. The problem is a I dont really have an intermediate step. I have: floor, up 13", up 26". That's it. I will figure it out, always do.

i took down 2 power skunk and a duban poison. this was the last from the run that didn't get topped and didn't get the full veg experience. thus, the PS was real talk, but one of them def yielded a decent amount. as for all the other girls...

this round, i took her 59 days. i have taken her 70 before and don't see a huge weight difference ... they suggest 8-9 weeks and i think 10 weeks was too long, but oh well, it was still good smoke. i just wish she didn't stretch so much, it's too bad.

sorry i havent posted for a minute here ... been pretty damn busy. I got lucky tonight and we had some crazy thunderstorms so my game was rained out. All i've got to say is thank god for that because i am exhausted and I had been neglecting the girls.
Took care of everything tonight and things are lookin great. R4 is packin on the pounds and is only ~2 weeks away from being chopped which is exciting. R5 is lookin strong too with the GB mom puttin on some pounds. i've realized that after the stretch is controlled its good to keep them a bit further (than i have in the past) from the lights so that the temps stay a lot lower. i also put a little fan in there to move some extra air around. We are at:
R4 = 43 days
R5 = 21 days
on a future note ... i have decided to go with DWC for my next grow, HOPEFULLY recirculating. I realized I don't have the time for the upkeep of an aero grow and DWC still allows for some huge root mass and root mass is king with buds. Anyways, it should be exciting, I am hoping to have enough room for 6-8 5 gallon buckets. I will keep everyone updated as time goes on ...

what up to everyone on this gorgeous sunday afternoon ..
sorry i've been slackin lately. last week was completely nuts and i barely had time to breathe. partying like a rock star has its ups and downs
In fact, I almost neglected the ladies again. BUT in doing so i discovered a cycle that i think will work better. Feed every 2 days in veg (24 hr light) and every 4 days in flower (12/12). Thus far, everyone seems to be loving it.
I've got a big haul coming up. The R4 is looking big, fat and tasty. I have 3 power skunks in there with 4-6 tops each and they are getting too heavy for themselves. what a terrible thing, i know ... this week I should have time to stake everthing and make sure they are all properly secured. When they are all in the room, they are actually just fine because the canopy is so tight they kind of support each other. real group effort in there lol.
As for the outdoor plans, I basically have 6 random clones in soil that are 100% ready and 5 more that are pretty close to ready. Plus in the cloner I have 4 more with roots and 10 more about to pop some. It's strange ... it seems the longer i leave the bubble cloner without changing out the res, the better they do ... it's like the plants self-adjust? i dont really know. usually i just add straight tap water and on occasion a touch of super thrive. either way, it works, so i'm not touchin it.
Ok, so outdoors, those are going out on the next rainy night. I will continue to take a few more clones and work on some hempy bonsai moms to keep the genetics going. i know i am keeping the durban and the power skunk, and there is talk of keeping the afghani (although I haven't run it in a long time). I think the gigabud will be gone because in general people don't enjoy it as much.

Keeping the Durban eh? Good. Hmm, maybe that's what I need. A strain from Africa. I smoked some pot from South Africa back in the early 70s. It was really good, and i had to clean out my pipe after a couple bowls because resin was running down the stem and getting on our lips.
Maybe that was Durban? The guy didn't have a name other than south African, which is where he had just come from. Back when you could safely fly with an ounce bag of weed in your pocket with no worries of hassle.

quick update. things are going along great, R4 is getting real fat and beggin to get chopped down. they will come down at day 58 (wedensday) mostly because i need the room to put in all the rest of the GB and i'm already a week late on that. it is DEFINITELY going to be my largest yield of all time, that's for sure. I can't wait.
R5 is all crazy, there are only 5 in there, plus the GB mom, i have kinda been letting it slide with the training and such, so we'll see how it turns out.
anyways, tonight i'm going out into the wilderness to put 8 girls in the ground. i have spent the evening preparing everything i will need for my bag, so after a few more hours, i should be ok to head out and get things done. just a lot of gear to bring, kind of a pain in the ass, but i should be able to pull it off.

Ok, quick note. I just put 6 girls out in the forest ... PITA in my opinion, compared to indoors. I was wet, muddy, wet, smelly, tired, sweaty, and wet, but the reason for this note is this:

it's basically concentrated coyote urine or something and that is some nasty stuff. it really makes me nauseous. i started spraying it everywhere in hopes of keeping the critters away for a bit ... what a poor decision that is. now it's on my clothes, on my skin and on my bag. i'm not sure there is any amount of febreeze that can save me.

Tonight was a long night. Pulled down 4DP and 3PS. They were at day 57, which is a bit early, but I was running out of time for putting in the last cylce (R6) that are all GB. Also, the GB mom in there is at about day 32. Only 10 more days for her and she is outta the way. I cut off some of her big fans today because they were seriously stopping the light.
Anyways, that scissor hash always fucks me up real good, so i'm gunna go chill out.
