Is anyone else down south ready for the warm weather? I want to try my hand at a few outdoor plants this season. In my area, i've heard it's good to wait until good friday before anything grows outdoors. I suppose i will start a few bagseed babbies and see what i can do.

Yep cant wait for spring 4 sure.I'd get them started inside now so when u put them out they will be stronger just in case we have cold snap. Our weather is so screwy now it's crazy. But atleast wait till good friday. We should be past the chance of any freezing temp's by then. GOOD LUCK

Have you had any luck with this in the past?

Nope wish I had some auto flower. because the amount of sun the plant will get if I put them out in a month would be like 12-14 hours. So I won't have a problem with hermi's.

Hi all
Wanted to show two pic's and to say thanks to all CSA'ers.
I missed any pic's threw the grow but now got a cheap camera
The pic is an Amnesia Haze That i hand pollinated with a SD IBL i had to let go so seed's could finish.

It's perfect time to put some plants outside now. It has nice for the past couple of days. I'm just trying to get some germinated. My problem is the wet paper towel keeps getting to cold. Plus all the seedlings keep dieing on me because I don't have the right soil right now. Need to get some.

oh yes, the time is coming for a outdoor crop! I always love to put mine down on good friday, just like any other garden! :) I'd like to run some confirmed female clones outdoors, I got a couple sativa's that look like they would love this SE climate. We'll see if they are ready by mid april! hopefully

Hopefully some of the bagseed i germinated can handle the weather. Gonna check up on them once a week and kill off the males.

I put my tomatoes outside about 3 weeks ago and they are acting like they are nuts. They have been growing daily. These were bred by LSU.

Must be the creole tomatoes....eh, randude?
The creole's are really vigorous, and if their planted in the ground, you'll definately have to stake and tie em up. They tend grow more like a vine than a bush.
I had 2 creole plants a couple of years ago in an earth box that grew well over my head....I had to build a ramshakle support with 1x2's and use an 8ft step ladder to tend them.
Some others that do really well IMO are the "celebrity" and the "better bush" varietys....Tasty!

I am new to the deep south and surprized to read what you said. Is it true?
It's best to wait until, you have gone past the AVERAGE last frost date, for your area. (if, planting in the ground?)

That's around April 20th; around here....(4/20)...420?.. what a surprise...:chin:

Well from I am seeing the last frost should have been a long time ago.
Is it really the photo period that is keeping it from budding?
It won't bud until the summer solstice...unless, you can control the light another way
....like bringing in the pots, daily.

I prefer outside in large pots.
