Need bong help

I even have my carb dimension/specs recorded and suffice it to say I'd be utilizing the old finger-roll release on the old handcannon. Like a car exhaust or a hand over the mouth of a deep cough - I'm looking for a tad bit of back-pressure from my carb (but I'll take control there, and refuse to turn it over to some ignorant pull-out). I've had some spare time to think about and investigate all of this as you may have guessed, lol. Good to see you Motaco. One day ima put some Haze in that bong of yours.

(Minds_I - did you ever do any kind of chemistry when training to become an engineer? Just wondering. It's cool to assume that all of the constituents of pot smoke might be all filtered out equally, but that is not the case.

So it's not as black and white as it seems. If it turned out to be something like you lose 10% of the THC from a bowl, but 50% of the tar - that could be a good thing and not too bad a sacrifice. But who knows - could be a marketing gimmick - but it has some science behind it.

If you'd like to know more Activated carbon and Chemisorption.

Hello all,

As to your questions about my education...yes, I have had chemistry. I do know what a mass spectrometer is.

The filtering the smoke of its constituant parts for the sake of a "cleaner hit" is counter intuitive to getting high....

I go to great lenghts to produce marijuana that has as large of a percentage of THC as possible.

I enjoy burning my buds in a one hit bong with glass slider/downtube. That said, I am not one for sitting around in circles smoking till its all gone...a few hits and on to other things. More hits of a filtered weed to get the same high (unless of course you use a hakko...then its even better) seems a waste of time, energy and money. Like I read somewhere here, I am not Waren Buffit with endless buds.

As to AC, I am well aware of how it functions, but I do thank you for the wiki links.

So to reiterate, excessive filtering your buds is counter intuitive. This is evident by logic...lowering the concentration of the THC in hit necessarily controls the amount delivered.

I will conceed however that a AC must provide a softer hit with regard to harshness.

By the way, it is a common misconception that the smoke expands in your lungs...this quite opposite from the truth. The smoke is an irratent to your brochial (sp) airways causing them to contract..like an asthma attack.

If a less harsh hit is what you are after I would think a vaporizor would turn the trick though I find vapes have the same flavor for different buds...very subtle if at all in my experience. The high is different for me as well in a vape.

Anyway, Marketing is quite germaine. Well as my dad used to tell me..."you get old to soon and smart too late".

Lastly, to quote Scotty: " The more you complicate the plumbing the easier it is to stop up the drain"

This has gotten off topic and rude (i'll admit I added some fuel), I think we can ALL agree...
It all depends on what YOU like. I have some bros who like ripping their 5 chamber PHx's. That's not for me. I personally don't like too much back pressure? In other words, I don't care how smooth it is, I do not want to try and suck a golf ball through a garden hose. I personally like to keep it simple, tube and an ashcather, and I like straight pipes. That's why I like my Illadelph, it's an effortless rip and is a good rip.
We're all arguing about brands and attachments, but what about heady pieces? I think they're beautiful, but I don't need one...
Peace

word O-dizzle.

Each to his own and variety adds to the spice of life. My posh glass wouldn't be so posh to me if I ain't had some shit first. Tis all relative.

I would love to hear more of the carbon filters, I thinki'm prepared to splash the cash on one just cos I have to know. Bigger hits would be kinda groovy if the hight feels the same, fuck it the blind tests will be fun anyway :)

carbon bong anyone else not speaking up for fear of bashing? worth a tinker?

Fiesty thread guys but would be great if it kept going rather than kept going round in circles.

Happens I have one on my modest bong. I've not done a blind test or anything like that but it still knocks me down. It gets full of tar pretty quickly - when I'm daily smoking it'll go for a few days of constant use before it's coated in sticky goo. Don't have any smokeables at the moment so can't take any pictures - other than it being clean and sitting in the bong. But I think it's better shown when it's all dirty so you can see the difference.

I agree with you minds_I - it is counter-intuitive to getting high, but as someone who switched to vaping/bonging after rolling joints with tobacco (it's the norm in the uk sadly - people never see enough green to roll straight unless you grow) I'm one of those people concerned about my lungs. Could be entirely psychosomatic giving you peace of mind thinking that your smoking cleaner smoke, but my persistent hacking cough that I developed after the last 3 years of daily joints has disappeared. (hardly conclusive evidence by any account as I cut out the 'bacco and use the bong in conjunction with my volcano.)

Back to the bongs - I use a regular lighter on mine, but I'm hearing more and more that this is a bit of a no-no for the bong connoisseur. How do those hemp wicks burn, worth trying them out? or maybe I should look for one of those ceramic soldering iron things? I'm curious to see how they work out.

no dude they are just a name......

Tell you what KID.

Go make some money and buy one, and tell me they are just a name. You have NO experience with what you are talking about. I have driven multiple Mercs and owned 3, one was a AMG. I have driven multiple BMWs, including the new and old M3s. I have driven a 997tt, GT-R, F430, Gallardo, etc. What have you driven...You're Camry?

Stick to glass, cause you obviously no nothing about cars...

I suppose you think Lamborghini and Ferrari are just names as well huh. No different than a Chevy Cobalt huh.

I am not going to say where, but I moderate a performance car forum, and know volumes more about cars than you ever will.

You actually think there is a noticeable difference between glass bongs, Yet a Mercedes and BMW are just name brands...

See it's not that I care when people talk about their sub par piece like it the quality of a german roor. It's like a guy who drives a for crown victoria saying his vehicle is no different than a brand new BMW 750Li. ya dig?

Wait! Didn't you just say, "BMWs are just a name", however here you have contradicted yourself... Saying they are better than a Crown Vic. Really Tony....don't ever speak about cars again...

LMAO!!! Tony...you know about hakkos and RooRs. Leave the cars out of it, cause you are clueless about them.

Holly shit can you say sarcasm? I was making a joke when some one sent me a message that roor means nothing just name just because it' so expensive. You get what you pay for and I know it's the same way With car fans.

I know a think or two about cars and have done an HPDE event....

LSA ,6.2 supercharged, Pretty much a detuned ZR1 engine.

What did you drive in it? I have tracked cars, but never competed.

Oh so you have one of the new ones. still stock?

I should rephrase myself I did a High performance racing school. Though I have tracked my nissan maxima. Pretty sure I had the slowest car there but I was 17 when I did it and sure I had more fun than any other guy there.

Yeah, not going to do anything to it, cause it's a DD.

I am looking to get a 2010 GT-R once there are some available with no mark up. 15k over is a joke in this car market.

I'd consider a used one in a few years. I'm going to get something trackable DD in a few years when I get out of college

Looking at a

-Used GTR
-a 335i coupe with bolt ons
- c5 z06 with H/C

something along those lines.

C5? Go with a C6 at least.

You can't beat a GT-R for true rounder. It tracks, travels, has a HUGE trunk for a car that can do a 11.5 quarter, and has a back seat. I was really in to the porsche turbo, until the GT-R came out.

The 335i is awesome, basically a older M3. Which I like more than the new V8 M3s.

You also forgot the part where if you use the launch control it voids your warranty on the transmission. And at the astronomical cost of one of those in addition to the already inflated price of the car itself you now have a really awesome car that a good 90% of the population who helped make it so famous and lust after it, will never afford one. Granted it's stellar bang for the buck but I don't know too many 20-somethings buying these up.

I know how the C6 handles alot better than the c5 but I love the body lines on the c5 a whole lot more.

Idk if I agree on the 335i= older m3 ( though the e46 m3 has such killer body lines) you can make so much more power with the 335i for alot less than you can with the m3.

people with 335i have been hitting 400hp AT THE WHEELS with just full exhaust upgrades, ecu/piggy back upgrade, inter cooler upgrade, and 100 octane. then all you need to do is drop the 2.5k to get an lsd since bmw only offers limited slip differentials with M cars.

I hate the bmw I drive though. My neighbor has a new 5 series, and she's had numerous electrical problems.

So you really have NO clue huh?

The 2010 has a revised version of the launch control. It no longer needs the VDC to be turned off, to be launched. Actually, it can be launched in any mode, when previously, it had to be done in a specific sequence. You really have NO idea what you are talking about. The 2010 GT-R MSRPs for 83k, and I am not a 20 something so it don't mean SHIT to me. However, I am not going to pay a 15k markup in this economic climate, I don't have to, just wait till they are sitting around like all the 09s, that first were selling for 25-30k over. Happens with all hot cars.

You are going to need to bring your A game, to talk cars with me...

I have never been a huge BMW fan. I liked the M5s, and that was about it. The previous body style was my favorite, and Dinan could tune it to about 610 rwhp.

You are probably right about the 335i, I am not into bimmers too much, the e46 is a iconic vehicle though. Beautiful car!

I've only seen one 6 series those it was repainted a really really nice shade of candy red, paint looked so deep!

Why not just pick up the nismo ( i think) edition GTR 600hp vs 480... what other cars are you into?

LP 560-4, LP 650-4, Audi R8, F430 Scuderia, GT-R SpecV, F355, 997tt, CLK 63 BS, E55 AMG, CTSV, ZR1, etc.

As far as the R35 GT-R goes, 485 hp is as high as they go. SpecV has the same HP numbers.

Nismo has a R34 developing 600 bhp called the Z-tune, but as far as the R35, the only 600 hp ones I have seen are after market project cars.
