id go with the ps3 version.and pc when that eventually comes out. free multiplayer..also the cops and robbers is going to be the best imo.. cops crouching setting up ambushes and blasting thru your front window with your teamates blasting out the back..gta 4 mp is going to rock.. it would be cool if they had a zombie survival mode, then it would be perfect.

I pre-ordered this game 2 weeks ago (the first time I've ever pre-ordered a game) and a week later my 360 died with the red ring of death..
Tis away for repair but I won't have it back in time for GTA's release - gutted!

Things I would like to see:
More realistic car collisions. Meaning, if I tap the car in front of me, I don't want my windshield to crack, fly off to the left, and have my hood get all jacked up. That's retarded.
More realistic movement. I want to be able to jump in the air. Not press square and jump forward. Being able to climb surfaces, not just ladders/fences or whatever.
More things to do outside of missions. The free roaming aspect of the game is my favorite part. Just getting on, jacking a sweet ride and driving around the city evading a few cops is good fun while you're stoned. I liked being able to rob stores in Vice City, however primitive it was, but was disappointed with the following titles in this respect.
More intelligent/realistic cops. I'm tired of driving down a highway at blistering speeds, checking behind me to keep tabs on my pursuers, only to have 40 squad cars rush out from every turn and corner, have a helicopter just open fire on me, or have the FBI run me off the road and then light me up with MP5s. Retarded. An arrest system should be worked out. I realize that the unrealistic properties of the game are what make it so fun in most cases (aka, skydiving off of buildings and landing in the middle of the highway, being able to steal cars without getting in trouble, driving like crazy without getting lit up by blue, etc) but in some cases it just makes it a little boring. If I could get cuffed, put in the car and then driven to the jail, but given options in escaping from the car, like picking your own cuffs without getting noticed, killing the cop arresting you, etc. The cop should just try and fish tail you every chance he gets when chasing you, but he should act like a real cop. And when you get out on foot and he chases you down, he shouldn't just try to kill you.
Say you steal a car, and get out when you see a cop running towards you. He'll just get out his stick and beat the shit out of you until you die, or shoot you. He should try to wrestle you to the ground and put cuffs on you. If they could make that happen, that would be excellent.

All in all, my demands/expectations are a little unrealistic, but that's my ideal GTA.

I'll still buy it though because I love the game. Been playing since I discovered the first top down GTA, fell in love after that. Who doesn't love driving off of any elevated surface and receiving 99 car damage?

What I meant man was you steal a car, BUMP lightly into a cop's car, and they beat you to death.

Getting arrested in GTA means you got knocked over, or thrown out of a car. Once your back hits the ground you magically get transported to jail.

For example, you're running and you clip a terrain or object in front of you and for some reason it makes you fall over. A cop next to you automatically means you get arrested.
What I was saying is add more to the arrest sequences. Make arrests and hospital visits infrequent but significant. Instead of just running up to you and beating you with a knightstick, have the cop try to talk to you or calmly arrest you, and have multiple instances to escape or opportunities to turn the tables around. Jumping out of cars, killing the cop, etc.

It wouldn't be GTA if you couldn't just jump in a car and drive around doing drivebys on old ladies and random pimps around the city and not even get penalized for it, but I would like to see a GTA style game with added realism. Where killing someone sparked investigations, and depending on your execution and finesse you left evidence behind. Killing people only when their are no witnesses, etc. That fear of getting caught adds an element to the game similar to when playing the Hitman series. Sure you can kill anyone you want, but if you walk past a security camera and forget to take the tape, or kill someone with a witness that escapes before you change costume could mean bad news.

All I'm sayin.

Game will be amazing though.

I used to like creating standoffs with the cops. I would find a building with one entrance and start shooting at cops. not long after, the stars would peg out and it was a full force cop onslaught. Quite a few times i held out for 10+ minutes and what got me usually is i would run out of ammo lol

Yeah, I really love San Andreas, it is my favorite. I like how open the map is, and how much there is to do. I think the new one will be bad ass, but it kinda seems like they took a step back in my opinion. I believe they should have made it as big as possible, how cool would it be if you could hijack a Carnival cruise boat and go all the way to the UK, with Interpol chasing you down like a dog. That would be sweet.
But I will still get 4, I can not wait to see NY.

Didn't start no missions or go deep in the game coz i know i'd get hooked and prolly have to buy and mod the shitbox, so i just drove around for a while, shot a couple of guys and beat some ppl up.. :smile:

yeah seriously and whats up with that final fantasy series, same stupid game over what 5 years, and gran turismo, its just cars and racing shit every single time, dont' forget the sequel to every single fighting game ever, its just the same game with things tweaked. Seriously why do they even release sequels to anything ever? might as well just do everything once, right?
