Whos got the best Afghan?

Ok my favourites was Nirvana Afghani purely for the smell. The stone was sedate but cruisy and comfy good for guitar. Short squat plants around 7-8 weeks. Purples and greens. The greens were better all round.
Sensi’s Afghan#1 I grew out 3 females of which 2 wreaked of pine/skunk. Buds were more like golf balls with a fair bit of internode spacing. The other looked more sativa in structure and leaf but the buds joined up more. To this day no other plant I’ve seen has produced buds so dense and so much resin. An oz looked like a quarter in volume. The smell well you really had to squeeze it to get much but was like sultanas/dried blackberries, plum nothing astringent. Anyway looked like pure fire scary even... Smoke it though and it was sedate like valium. I’d have both strains back in a heart beat.

Lastly did DNA around the same time again 3 pheno’s They should have called it ashtray x dogsarse. The effect was similar though.

all this 10 years ago.

I wonder if DD and Soul got the Kandahar from Bohdi. Soul gave me some 88ghash cut x kandahar pretty sure DD did them. DD had them listed recently.

Also, Useless.Gardens has harvest shots and lots of experience with WOS AK looks dope.

@afghan_kush_black_honey on Instagram lives in Afghanistan and collects seeds there. @afpakhashish is also collecting in the POK area. The most interesting thus far was the collection from Kundoz village. Those were the real funk.

Afghani Sativa Land Race

Afghani Sativa Land Race

When I was visiting friends in Vancouver a couple of years ago, we were walking by a dispensary that had a bud on display in their window. It was labeled as Afghani Cheese Skunk Sativa Land Race.
I stopped dead in my tracks, moseyed on in and paid a ridiculous price for it. I didn't care, I had to have it no matter what.

It "allegedly" was lab tested at 29% THC. I was never shown the actual results to my face, but after sampling, I can assure everyone that 29% was definitely in the ball park and believable. It was some excellent weed. It had a skunky purple faint cheese flavor when smoked, and would over power you if over indulged.

The colita in the pic weighed 14 grams. And guess what ? I found a seed in it, which I still have :yay: . One day soon, I plan to germinate it. I'm crossing my fingers it germs, and doesn't turn out to be some hellacious hermy freak.

Yeah skunk was one of the first renown commercial hybrid ever, from what I've read. People often talk of pre-soviet as desirable the genetics changed there or something, i presume.

I wonder how its different now. if sacred seeds Afghani #1 were not homogenized by now, i may be interested in growing seeds out of the original myself sometime.

Re: Whos got the best Afghan?

I am 6 weeks into flower on a seed crop of Underground Seed Co's Black Afghani from 1980's Kandahar genetics. By the looks and smells so far, this is looking like the best! I am very impressed by these.

I was gifted 38 seeds sourced direct from Afghanistan, of those seeds 37 were very similar but 1 grew with single blade leaf and was almost runt like for the first month of growing. She ended up being possibly the greatest find I've had in any seeds let alone landrace. Im currently testing this cut crossed with my ChemValley Cooks (Forum GSC x SFV OG/ChemD BX).

My Black Afghanis from USC (Kandahar landrace from 1980s) are about 1-2 weeks from harvest and I can't believe my eyes they are so gorgeous. I got to sample a little bit of it early due to a little bud rot and needing to remove the tops of two main colas and having some good material left to dry and smoke. It was the bee's knees! I felt really physically good and relaxed and not tired or heavy limbed or any grogg. It also had a trippy effect almost like a mild psilisybin. It felt like the colors, taste and smell of the plant permeated my consciousness. So, that was interesting. I have some pics but can't post them because I'm too new. So far I'm glad I was able to get my hand on these.

Hey truecannabliss, those look great and share a strong resemblance to the Kandahar plants that I just grew. Do you happen to have any locality info on yours? I hear that the helmand province is also similar with the black and purple colors and interesting color patterns on the leaves. I wonder if there is a clear distiction between the desert lowland afghanis and the highland hindu kush afghanis?
