The Rainbowcakes are about ready to come out. They've mostly recovered from too much nitrogen early on
I'm pretty happy to have some nice forest fruits smelling buds :D

Looking good as usual sticky. How is the self watering mechanism working out for you?
I've had some trouble with poor quality nutrients, too much N and lacking in some other ingredients as you can see on these leaf tips, so the only self watering I have is hydro for now which I like through winter but have had some problems in summer. Once I fill the jars I'll have another go at the soil runs with self watering :)

I saw the leaf tips but.... one post I read a while back the guy said he likes to see just a touch of leaf tip burn. That shows you are maxed out on nutes, and not really over much at all. I thought an interesting concept. You aren’t far overboard looks like.

I see what you're saying but in this instance they reformulated the nutes I've been using for decades. I used to use the flower only version from start to finish and I could run it at 1.5 to 2.5 ec start to finish for most Indica hybrids. It looked milky then and needed a shake before use. Now it looks like piss and is very high in N and burns if I go over 1.4ec. I think you are supposed to buy all their additives and amend as you go to bring the ec up, but I prefer not to have the complication of not knowing the ratio after one ingredient gets used up or whatever. I find using flowering nutes helps rooting and plant structure from the get go if it's made right. The KISS method :p
I've just started using the Mills Basis AB alone and I'm seeing improvements already :)
I was using Flairform GreenDream -1 which was reformulated in 2021. They recommend using a PK additive toward the end but I think it is PK deficient at the beginning. Either way I've switched and will see how it goes :)

Chopped the Rainbowcake just now. It has a very strong sweet smell that is almost sickly, like cheap perfume! This drops off to something quite nice as it dries. I guess about 10+ oz. 3hrs + chopping
I found over 40 seeds on her but just on the branch base nodes where plants first show sex, not in the actual buds so it must have caught a small amount of LTPeak C99 pollen before the buds started to form.
I'll know for sure when I pop them. Fems will mean Rainbowcake pure and regs will mean C99 cross. My money's on the cross because this line is extremely stable!
I also found some tiny white bugs on top of the water in the res. Like a little white caterpillar about 2m/m long with two tiny feelers. Almost not visible without a headset (or very young eyes). The roots in the res were dead so the roots in the buckets of pumice were doing all the work.
@Brother Nature I think you might like a few of these seeds. If you work them to an F2 and beyond you could probably find something amazing. There is yield and there is frosty power and they both have a fruity aroma :)

A little diary update...

In the nursery are 9x reg Corinto Purples and the rest are Golfballs
The Corintos are picking up after potting up and the DWC Golfballs are looking Jurassic
Nursery.JPG

The 1m x 1m DWC tent has 3x LT Peak C99 rear and left and assorted clones in the center and a Rainbowcake
DWC.JPG

The 1200x1200 with the Golfball in the Wilma system has gone nuts in 7 days!! See the pic in the above post. Needs a prune urgently
GBWilma.JPG

The main area has 4x Golfballs and 2x Sour Ds rear left and 1x C99 front right. I have to bud them to clear some space for other projects :) and because... buds! :p
Main.JPG

Also I purchased an air pump for all the DWC and hydro res's that pumps out through a 1/2" hose with garden sprinkler style outlets. It will probably run up to ~20 outlets. Each one has an airstone and a large custom stainless steel washer for a weight

Hi sticky. Those corinto leaves look wider than one would hope. The leaf in the lower right corner looks like what happened in my tent early on. I saw a post recently might be due to high humidity and need for more air flow. Glad they are perking up in the new pots.

Hey blondie, I've not really been one to look at leaf width when the plants are young but I see what you're saying. It's fairly cool here for us currently as we're in the middle of winter. Not super cold but mostly 5-15°c with average humidity.
Now that the CMH light is set up when I reach my arm into the tent it's just like being in the sun with the radiant heat and it's a lot warmer all round. Might have to swap it out for LED in summer, we'll see.
I'm not worried by the leaf width at all just the overall health. I think if the roots are thriving the rest will follow :)

Well, they are perking up a little. Do you think I should feed them a little more or up-pot again into some soil that's a little richer? I know that helped with my KA5H but I don't want to kill them :p

You uppotted into good quality soil I assume? I would think you should be good for a while now with new soil and space for roots to grow. If they are perking up I think it would be good to let them be for now. Maybe @yesum will have some input .

I'm now using an organic potting mix that's made from green-waste. I might try adding a little compost and worm castings to beef it up. Here in NZ potting mix/soil standards are almost non-existent. No N-P-K levels on the bags or any real information unless you pay moonbeams for specialist soils which are hard to find anyway

The Golfballs in the Wilma hydro are pumping! I pruned last week HARD but you wouldn't know it!
I've only been checking the EC and adding Mills Basis and rainwater. It's growing well so I haven't bothered with the pH

The 9 regular Corinto Purples are still alive :p

I also have 3x Peak C99s from LT going from clone off the seed mothers in DWC. I hope they don't get root rot if the weather warms up.

C99.JPG

The main area is going ok for now. I just stuffed all the homeless plants in there on 11/13 including the big leaved Golfballs in DWC. Does anyone know how much hydrogen peroxide to add per liter to prevent root rot?
