Orange Grove guerrilla grow

Stopped by the plot tonight to give the girls some much needed water and feed. They were drooping from thirst and some of the lower fan leaves on the big plant had been sacrificed.

I was also delighted to see the plant that I had been treating with the CS is kicking out bananas! :woohoo: Hopefully those will fill up with pollen soon and I will have feminized seeds for next year!

I'll try and stop out soon during daylight to get some pictures.

Please post some pictures of your banana induced female!

Never seen the outdoor done but was planning it myself.

Sorry to keep everyone on hold for the reversed plant pics, it has been raining a lot for the last few days. I will make it out sometime this week and try to get closeups.

These are a few of the Orange Grove leaves I pressed... Put them between wax paper and gave them an ironing, then placed them in between computer paper, and put them in a book and stacked a bunch of heavy things on top for a week. Placed them on fresh paper and covered them in packing tape (cheap, I know.) Eventually I want to do a proper job with new leaves and laminate them. Also try to find leaves that are more perfect and haven't been chewed on by bugs.

Here he/she is! :woohoo::jump::dance013:

First off, sorry about the quality of the pics... Trying to take close ups in the dark is not the easiest of tasks and the fog kept condensing on the lens making photography rough. Didn't stop out there in daylight to get better picks, sorry about that. With harvest in the near future I want to keep a light footprint.

Those pollen sacs are popping open all over the place! :)

Northern lights in the first pic, followed by the remainder Orange groves....

My largest Og in the last picture is looking mighty beat. I've had plants drop most of the fan leaves like this before, but only when they are begging to be pulled. Not to mention, are a few weeks deeper into the season after a few nights of chilly temps or frost. Think she's trying to tell me something?

I moved the Northern lights up beside the reversed Orange grove and rubbed the buds together for some girl on girl action! Not trying to fumble with a paintbrush in the dark and this method works great with the males. We'll have to see the results! Pics from front and behind. :woohoo:

Getting some sweeter notes off the Nl now. She may turn out nicer than expected :)

Agreed. Just need to get back out with my harvest shears and a bigger bag :) An early harvest is a pleasant surprise, but one I wasn't expecting given they started to flower a bit late.

Big plant got chopped last night. Have it hanging to dry and probably will begin trimming tonight. There is a bit of mold I can see on the tip of the main cola and several of the lower branches had to be tossed. I'll probably end up chopping the other 2 non-seeded plants this week to avoid bud rot. I plan to try and let the seeded plants go longer so the seeds can ripen out.

the plants look great i hope you didnt loose too much to mold

Looking good JST. How about that og- ive only had that sort of thing happen in swamp tubes... Always figured it was about leaching of N and other nutes in my tubes. On the plus side it makes for easy peasy trimming... Are those nanners bursting naturally? Sometimes i need to pluck them when there good and mature and then i stick them in an icing sugar shaker, dry them for a day or two crush an shake shake shake to apply. Makes for a LOT of seeds though but it can definitely be applied in the dark.

I think you're right about the leeching of the nutrients causing the leaf drop off. I'm almost certain it's Nitrogen deficiency as the leaves gradually turn yellow on their way up the plant from bottom to top as they either die or just drop off. I feel that the problem for me is most likely related to pH and nute lock as the water I give them is very alkaline, even when acid is added. This is last years recycled soil too, so that is also a factor. I've also noticed these copper colored stripes I've never seen before. Not entirely sure what it is yet, possibly pathogen related. You can see them on the leaves in the earlier photos when they were smaller.

No complaints on less trimming, it's the most boring part of growing. I remember the first time doing it I was like "this is so cool, I'm trimming my own buds!) and after a few O's I was like "yeah, this sucks. No wonder people hire others to do this."

The pollen sacs managed to explode on their own, the male Og's were great pollen producers and from what I can see, the ladies aren't producing too bad either. What I did was pinched the unopened ones then flicked the buds to kick up the pollen. With the males in the past I've cut off branches and used the actual buds as a paint brush dusting them on. Kind of fun to do actually.

Got to enjoy the Autumn weather this afternoon and started to do a little trimming. Looks like about a 1/3 of the plant will be lost to mold. Same as last year. Had to cut some out of this top cola while trimming. Really makes a compelling argument to start growing inside. Tossed a small bud in a pill bottle with a silica gel packet to do a speed dry. Will report back with that...

Also, I finally picked up a pocket microscope. It's pretty hard trying to take pictures through it though. It's difficult to see but you can tell this plant was over ripe... I'd say 50% amber trichs 50% burst ones. Those other 2 sensi plants need to come down now.

That's exactly what I'm growing it for, insomnia. This strain does a nice job of just that...laying you totally out. So far the odor is very mild. Smells of skittles with no skunk/dank smell to it.
