It's certainly a first step, I would not go over 1000 sqft this year though they are actively filing criminal charges now and calling the water board ... now that the ordnance is out.

Looks like there will be a residency requirement of two years ... also the new urgency ordnance will not be done till everyone plants in late july ... The meeting of the Board of Supervisors didn't go well at all. They are upholding prohibition.
25 on 20 or more acres with 300 ft setback
16 on 10-20 acres 200 ft setbacks
12 pm 5-10
6 on 2-5 if you zoned RA
zones R1-R3 will not be allowed to grow. They gave them 90 days to comply.
(On a Legal Parcel improved with a permanent, occupied, legally permitted residence.) Yet California is full of farmers who grow on parcels that do not have permitted residences on them all throughout the central valley??
2017 fines.....
a.
First citation in a 12-month period: $100 per day/per violation that nuisance remains
unabated;
b.
Second citation in a 12-month period:
remains unabated;
$500 per day/per violation that nuisance
c.
Any violation thereafter in a 12-month period:

For anyone looking to move forward with future business, today is the last day to get your business entity and sellers permit to qualify under AUMA if it passes.

Is everyone a member of the Nevada County Cannabis Alliance? If not we need your support. We are trying to drive up our membership. If we can reach high numbers we can gain more power. We are a trade union focused on cottage cultivation. And yes we need your money! $500 is our asking membership donation level. If you've been enjoying cultivating for the last X amount of years is it too much to ask that you throw down NOW so we can keep doing what we do? Currently we are working on a draft for the next ordinance measure. We want to be the ones driving the debate not the sheriff. Other counties are watching Nevada County and asking us how we defeated measure W. Come join the fight.

Also we have meetings every third Wednesday of the month at the Holbrooke Hotel in Grass Valley, CA at 6 pm. Members are free and other people just coming to check it out are asked to chip in $20. I will wear a red ball cap at the meetings if you want to come chat or contact me through the board. Our meetings are updates on progress and networking events. Please come check it out.

Freedom Grower, care to share your view of the future of cannabis cultivation in Nevada County and how that should evolve from where we are at now?
We are likely scammed until royal is out of office or until we do a ballot initiative ...
So we are likely to see black-market expansion and fines for recreational and personal grows ... until 2018 ... other counties are on the legal rush and we are likely going to be left in the dust
The interm ordinance is a scam ... and the committee is defiantly going to be a scam ...
We need a ballot initiative that defaults to the state regs but also requires them to have a state / water permit before operating ... to many bad actors ... only limitations should be on size of gardens ... or residency 1,3 ,5 years? ... Tax rate to go to schools / homeless?
Other Counties are licensing grows that have 0 chance of getting a state permit ... Just to get some tax $$$ ... capitalism is working hard to stop monopolies but the local greed is abundant allowing some monopolies to form and local governments to fill their coffers in the interm.
I spent a good amount to get in compliance with the 2012 ordinance and the MMRSA ... the county knows this ... best case is they let me grow something still for my personal and patients on my 15+ acres outdoors and am not forced to hide indoors again ...
