3rd plant has some nice colas, but not nearly as much volume as these ladies. Difference in yield is dramatic between 5 and 7 gallons. LOL, my test proved that I'm a dumb ass for not using a bigger pot on the third plant!
Makes me glad I went and bought a big one for the sativa I'm running. It's presently demonstrating why stakes and mesh are a good idea. Buds getting a little top heavy.
Thanks, Bueno Time. Tried a little bud from a bottom branch a couple of weeks ago. Air dried it over night and even a bit damp it smoked very smooth and provided a fine buzz. Hoping for good things when it's ready.
I'm gonna be champing at the bit for the next week or so waiting for a real taste of these Grape Ox. Have yet to chat with anyone who has grown it or tried it. Really new strain I suppose.
Dry trimmed the last of the 3 Grape Ox this morning. Ended up about 3 oz each on the big plants and a little under 2 oz on the smaller one.
Considering the size of the plants, and first go round in soil only, I was very satisfied with yield. Had hoped for more than 3 females from the 7 seeds I sprouted, but that is just luck of the draw.
Buds smell awesome and taste wonderful, very sweet and smooth. Burn completely down. I already have some clones warming up for round two and made lots of seeds for future use and trade.
Big jar is from the two big plants (already gave some away and smoked a bit though) and little jar is from the seeded plant.
This thread finishing as quietly as it started, but that never stopped me from yakking before...
Been smoking through the seeded buds first. Even seeded, it is still very potent, but kind of amazing how little smokeable flower material remains in a throughly seeded bud.
The remainder from the unseeded is building a very sharp fiery aroma now.
As compared to my 90s experiences growing hydro, organic soil is the only way to go. Flavor and burn are far superior. If you check early in the thread you will see the very simple mix I used that should be within even the most novice grower's abilities and budget.
LOL, the ruler was a from a local political campaign a few years back with some minor modifications. Works great for measuring other things too, but that's a whole 'nuther website
Waiting is the hardest part, especially when you're paying for it.
Want to chop my old sativa down too! Almost 13 weeks of flower and I think it's gotta be damn close. Sun leaves look like the aspens around here are going to in a couple more weeks.
no, I believe it. at least from what I've read when I was reading about that topic. can't exactly recall as I just finished the last inch of that blunt from last night. but I think it would be worth a taking a looksee.
I think I may have found my next grow's strains! One is known for her terpenes and high trich count. the other is berry flavored one that yields well and flowers quick. lastly, this one doesn't have a lot of info but has a very alluring name and interesting smell. I'll have to share later what I actually choose because if I get them now, then I can grow them up and take cuttings for he next grow. $170 for clones SUCKS when you could pay $30 and have time to grow em up bigger. I've been reading about mother plants lately and watching this soil documentary.
