dodsnark: hhahahaha yeah, talk about a cheap DIY method... i wasn't even trying to put a bubbler together when i bought that rubbermaid tote for $3.79 at home depot. i was just going to use it to store my water (i do a brita water filter pitcher to get nasties out, and stick an air stone and submersible water heater. pretty cheap accessories but holy shit do the girls notice a difference when the water is well-oxygenated and on the warmer side. maybe i'll get an RO machine eventually, but for now it is a wonderfully cheap solution to watering with good water.) anyway, then i saw my float and grow tray and figured i'd just put the styrofoam piece in the same container i was bubbling, rather than using the little white tray that came with the styrofoam. my only missing link was a little bit of light for the clones. i looked in my cupboard and had a little 2' shop light, and some duct tape. lol wallah: a water prepper and cloner at same time. when i want water, i have a 1/2" vinyl tubing and just syphon some out of the bubbler into a pitcher. :thumbs up: thanks for the post, good to see you around

dr. dog: yes sir. hps photos are a little different than floro pics. lol but i've got a little experience taking some cool pics. i'll be doing a black background photo shoot tomorrow night. looking forward to getting some popcorn shots up of the blueberry and bagseeds. some of the bubba Chunk and Cherry Haze are starting to get some pom-pom's too. can't friggin wait for that cherry haze. so nice.

first of all, if you use coco in your mix and haven't tried these generic bricks ($3.10 at my hydro store in bumfuck, nowhere) yet, give them a shot. i was spending $40 a 20 lb bag of Bcuzz, which though good as hell, was just not worth it. these little mofo bricks pimp up! lol i use about 5 bricks per 30 lb bag of happy frog (pretty sure on the poundage, but i am ripped at the moment ) fills my rubbermade tote perfect with the whole bag of HF. (in case you wondering, then wormcastings on top for veg and weeks 1-4 in bloom, bat guano on top in weeks 2-6 bloom. )

about 3/4 gallon of water in a five gallon bucket (there is some coco left over from the previous brick too)

and you have nice, moist shredded coco for cheap as hell. the girls will appreciate somewhere between 10-30% or more if you like. anyway. on to flower pics!

and now, the bagseed. these are the beans I started at the very beginning while waiting for my mail order seeds. they were donated by an older generation friend who said he had them, wasn't sure if it was from dirt mcgirt weed, or something good. i figured it would be worth keeping me busy til getting the quality genetics.

things are just starting to get interesting. after this initial run, i will either be stopping altogether or switching to a smaller unit. i know an electrician and duct work fella, and he is going to set up a nice tucked away place where i can keep a 8' x 3' 8'tall space to split up and do my thing perpetually, without bothering a soul. fingers crossed.

my carbon filter really takes care of everything, that is the blower does. i caught a pretty good whiff today when i was taking care of the transplanting. oh yeah -- the bagseeds and blueberry are now in 5 gallon bags, so by week 10 look the fuck out! lol should get a qp a piece, i'm hoping. they were veg'd seven weeks or close to it.

also tranpslanted a couple skun hazes and one bk x dc from 1 to 3 gal bags. gave everybody a dose of wormcastings and bat guano, watered and filled the clone bubbler.

sanchez: hell yeah, my friend. save a lot of money. and the worm castings/bat guano thing was the result of trying all sorts of liquid additives and the usual slew of stuff. got tired of it and just went to putting powder on top of the dirt. water with plain water, add nothing or a little molasses or whatever. simple yet damn effective. i wouldn't skimp on the soil though. happy frog, or fox farm ocean forest, something on the high end side with microcorrihaze (sp? lol) and some organic food to balance out the other little stuff. be all set to kill it. thanks for the post.

DJXXPLATINUM: Sunleaves Float & Grow I would just buy the insert. save you $5, if you go the same route as me. i've been pretty happy with it. store the water a foot and a half or so off the ground, on a little stand or something, so when you siphon into your pitcher you will be above the pitcher if you know what i'm sayin. hope all is well brother, thanks for the post!

i've had a few requests/karma for this post, so here it is for those of you wondering about a quick way to resize pics:

much easier to view when full size. after you drag pics over from your album, and click "preview post," copy and cut everything (ctrl + a, then ctrl + x) in the box, paste it in a blank microsoft word document (ctrl + v) and do the following:

1. Press Ctrl + F
2. Click on the "Replace" tab.
3. replace all: "url" with "img" (type them in corresponding boxes then click the "replace all" button)
4. and replace all: "album." with "picture." - be sure to include the period (".") or it will replace an unwanted item.
5. copy and cut everything (ctrl + a, then ctrl + x) and paste (ctrl + v) back into the icmag box where you type your post. hit preview and all should be visible and normal size.

that will make your images appear as photos instead of links.

*edit: for some reason you may also have to look at your code and remove "thumb" if present... just fyi in case you need that too.

Thanks 4 the comeback! I appreciate the tip re: happy frog/ocean forest. Anything else you're adding to the mix? I was thinking a little extra perlite couldn't hurt, and maybe a little dolomite lime?
Other than that I can't think of anything else I'd want to add besides compost.
