We haven't seen 25 years of science and technology and development of the genetics. We've seen a lot of marketing bullshit with hundreds of strains of very similar genetics being given stupid names to sell to kids in what is now a very commercialised market. That's all.

You talk about these new strains as though they're better, combining the effects of the old school long flowering hazes with some better potency and yield, but you are very wrong.

I've just got back from amsterdam, and to get weed shipped over directly from Cali to the UK now is nothing new, and all I'm seeing is the saturation of the market with lots of hybrids of very similar profiles, a lot of which are not top quality.

I went to a few coffee shops in the dam to see if I could find some proper Silver haze...

The real silver haze tastes like Pepper and spices and rich incense and is just a beautiful smell and taste.

And, it seems, it's gone...
There were no Hazes which stood out. I tried a few silver hazes to see if anything was even close... Not a single one was..

and why would it be?

I was sat in the shop talking to an older fella about it. These places are there to make money... people who grow weed, what's their main intention? to provide you, the connoisseur, with the best herb possible? Priority number one is return, and pesticides and PGRs are an every day thing for most commercial growers, and to think they will grow a strain for 26 weeks so you can experience a soaring sativa high, is stupid. Especially in today's hyper competitive market.

So what you end up with is a race for the next on trend strain, even grow to grow it changes.. and all tailored to a certain demographic... names like Gelato/biscuits/cookies/ice cream/cake/strawberries.... See a pattern here?

All aimed at the same people the junk food industry has been knocking down for decades now. And it works. Easy.

And what you get for all this "work" - for those who know nothing about the origins of weed - is crosses of short flowering indicas which have always had that fruity terp profile long before they were named after a type of dessert.

And that's the problem with today's market; people are not being exposed to the truly different strains and their tastes and effects.

If you think OG kush is the most potent weed you will ever smoke, or the best experiencewait til the day you try your first landrace sativa. Problem is you might, in all your years smoking, never once come across it. What a shame.

The days of imported haze which was actual haze are gone, because there's no market for it, because the commercial growing trade is absolutely jam packed nowadays.

Even in non legal countries like the UK there's someone growing on nearly every block on every city estate, and that's not counting the Chinese/ Turks, Romanians and Albanians who are knee deep in major commercial grows which are driving the price down all the time.

That's what's happened over 20 years. If you call it development, up to you. I call it regression
Good read mate, and have to agree with you 👍

It's a good thing I found this thread as I've just purchased a pack despite its ridiculous price. But I was thinking this weekend, that eventhough I'm not too much into western hybrids, i should at least try this one once in my lifetime. But what if I actually like it ? So maybe the first grow will be a repro so I don't have to pay 170 € again ! I can't believe I've actually paid that amount of money for seeds. Those sensi beans better rock my world !

How long for the cure btw ?

At sensi prices it seems to make sense to clone them like mad… there are likely to be some winners in there
All the best

I always liked Jack since the first time we met way back in the day!
the Jack Herer strain was launched in 1994 during a ceremony in The Cannabis Castle.

With all this talk of MNS, it is strange that "someone" has not yet arrived to defend poor Shanti .... :D
Save your money, most things mns and sensiseeds are not the great strains of the past ...
These "seedbanks" have kept the names and glory of the past but in fact Jack and ssh are not the same as when they came out ...

I forgot, ssh and Jack are made from skunk , northern lights 5 and haze, but they are not the same obviously ....
Too bad I bought a pack then  !

Its not for you personaly I think generally people were say bad things about Sensi's without reason...there are better seeds for grow now than Sensi regs...like Karma Genetics for modern trendy cultivars and higher price while sale.

I chated with owner of Sensi seed bank he told me that 99% of their sale today are fem seeds.
And he still have old school regs in stock just for history.

My experiences (with sensi, mns and others) go in a different direction, this doesn't mean that I'm right and you're wrong or vice versa, we simply have had different experiences.
I think the only advice I could give is: cultivate them and have your own experiences, only in this way can you discover it...

Its not right to buy Jack Herer seeds expecting buds like OG kush and say Sensi is bad.
In that way you or someone other is just ingnorant and thats all.
If I remember good you are growing on balcony in this conditions its hard tu judge something properly.
I like to begin with myself when I judge something else.

So true ! Strains used to be called Northern Lights, Haze, Kali Mist, Shiva Skunk, Khyber Afghani etc, all names suggesting exotism, mysticism, something otherworldly, sacred, tripped out from far away places. Now it's all about desserts for 5 years old. I mean Girl Scout Cookies ! That name always had a pedophilic twang to me. Who on earth would want to smoke cannabis with such a ridiculous - and slightly creepy- name ? Pacifier Kush is probably the next big hit.

I had it before but lost it,It is golden big calyx, around 13 weeks flower, very skiny and not strong plant, most finicky girl you will grow...strach is 5-6 times.Buds and plant itself are very tiney and they are not for commercial production calyx on calyx with very small and tick hairs...people will crave for it...but to long flowering and so small yild, but thats strongest and best shit I smoked.

High will rocket lunch you from first toke,to the border where euphoria, many toughts and happynes meet with feeling of ''did I smoked to much'' and it last four hours as time pass you feel more and more of NL/skunk and things become stony and tripy like little dose of shrooms and few heineken beers XD.
You instantly know that you are high as fuck, joint can be very hard to smoke at once, most tokers will put it aside at half.....

Taste and smell is mostly Haze on Pine, wildflower, black papper, green tea,,metalic, eucaliptus, menthol that all together smell on rich camphor,cardamom,sandawlood-pepper,pine and reosemary and with just a bit of afghan/skunk sweetnes....with curing more sweetiness came out....that make taste just perfect....

Its one of weeds when you look at yourself in mirror you think that mirror is watching you.
I hope you find some beauties. Good Luck and pulling up a chair.
