Made some big jim chili…maybe not the hottest for this thread but it was good. Had to serve a large group so couldn’t be too hot but I did add a few cayennes.

I generally remove the first few flower sets to allow the early energy to be put into establishing a larger root system and more vegetative growth.

That "brandywine" isn't worth the soil it'll be grown in. ;)

Track down seeds for Sudduth's Brandywine. Maybe try Victory Seeds. It's the original. It's production varies year to year with climate pretty drastically but the tomatoes it makes are some of the best in the world.

i too grew brandywine... got my seeds from seedsavers... finally was able to pick a couple towards the end of aug, they were pretty large n tasty... but lousy production, n took forever to rippen... most of the other tomatoes , we started to harvest in early july.... took these another 6weeks to ripen... but as said, they were tasty

Sudduth's is 'believed' to be the original Brandywine.... but any legitimate open pollinated Brandywine is just fine. :ying:

tossed some Bhuts and SA's in some promix with a bit of cilantro. Need to grab some jalapeño.

What are the SE Asian peppers worth trying?

So far the jalapeno seems to be doing ok, but not so good with the reapers...

I'll come back to those another time...
