What's in your compost? A lot of wood maybe? Scrappy

You know I havent noticed it being wood chippey all the times I handled it, but I will take closer look now that you mention it.

The compost is from stein gardens and is about 10 bucks a bag so it is pretty good. Well at least I thought it was......ummmm

Oh shit i mssed the TENT part, its probably the TENT OFFGASSING itself.

Man I really consider that as a viable reason. I posted that question in the past and some one told me if your tent is silver lined then it does not release any type of gas. He said the PVC lined tents are the ones you have to watch out for.

Funny though, because the tent I had great results in using a single 600w light, is PVC lined. I currently still use it as my primary veg tent and plants are 100% healthy in it. The first on sight of the problem shows its first symptoms around the 3rd week of flower.

Man I really hope it isnt this damn tent. Not only was it super expensive, I dont have another option. I cant take it down, I needs it concealment. Not even a 560cfm fan running at full bore venting directly out of the tent, could remove all toxic fumes before they harms my precious little babies?

And just to clarify myself a little bit, those plants in the pics or in 3g air pots with pure coco. Being feed synthetic nutes @ these rates per 5g of RO/DI.

1tbs of AN grow
2tbs of AN micro
4tbs of AN bloom
2tsp of FF beastie blooms
1.5tbs of cal/mag

pH 6.1-6.3
ppm 760-800

I really cant tell you where Boss, that is where the pthalate gas is coming from. But I would bet my last dollar that your plants are being posioned from something. It doesnt take much. In my case it was around 3 feet of 1/2" hose that started it. By the time I found out the problem I probably had around 6 to 10 feet of it but still, thats not thaaaaaaaaaaaaat much plastic to kill a 4x4 grow area.

With all of those nutes in your mix. Did you let your mix sit and cook for about three weeks? Soil can get hot and actually steam when you turn it with a abundance of organic nutrients. The plants you put in coco. were they started in your soil mix? I have been growing outdoors for 35 years when I decided I needed a winter hobby. Burned the hell out of my first go by just mixing and planting. Now I start a new batch of soil when I start flowering whats in my room. That way all of the nutrients are broken down and the new veg batch just takes off.

The plants in coco have been in coco the whole ride. The coco was a response to the problem when I was pure organic soil. The problem did not go away.

I let the soil sit for 3 weeks from the get go, but I made 100 gallons of it. I used about 7 gallons a week, so by the time I go down to the last serving, it had sat well over 3 months.

All plants showed the same symptoms.

Snoopy I really think your on the right page here.

Im trying to retrace me steps as to what I added to the tent. The thing about it is everything I added was in response to this problem. SO everything I added was in hopes to cure the problem which means nothing I added could be causing the problem, right? I have to focus on what I had in there before the begin of time.

The only things in the tent from day one, are:

carbon filter
6" ducting
light hoods
two plastic fans mounted on the pulls
and the tent it self which the plants are all housed in

the way things are looking, I highly doubt its any in the listed above except the tent.

I just dont see how though, its is silver mylar lined, the polls are steal.

Maybe the fans? They are some 18" wall mountable fans I bought on ebay.

But I agree- I really think there is some type of poisoning going around these parts and I need me a culprit!

Are you using a oil less pump for your reservoir? Some pumps use toxic oil to insulate themselves. Even if you have been using the same pump for years. If a seal or gasket starts leaking it could be fatal.

Im using small, 32w 233gpm submersible electric pumps.

I dont think the're sophisticated enough to have anything like that.

Here is a picture from 12/22/2010 with a complete organic soil. The problem is identical to my coco plants.

Swapped from complete organic to complete synthetic and the problem persisted.

Geez I really hope it is not my tent.

Wait a second, if you are using pumps, is there any hoses or tubing involved?

yeah but all the tubing, drip emitters, drip line, has been added, the problem was around before it. Long before it. I thought I had a watering frequency problem so I installed a top drip irrigation system with supplies from my hydro shop. They would know if their material f'ed stuff up by now. Complaints would be out the a$$

Ive found water chloride test kits but not air sampling kits. Ive been reading up on PVC for a while here. Some PVC designed for outdoor use have UV protectants either in the formula or a coating. It would make a little sense to me to include the inhibitors in a grow tent used with HID lights. The lights would make non protected PVC gas off faster than protected. Might be the difference in your two tents. Could have been a batch problem from the supplier to the manufacturer of the tent. I would contact the tent manufacturer and see if they have had problems with some of their tents. Will they be honest?

Just been checking out fabric UV protectant and sealer sprays. May be what the doctor ordered. Some are water based and non toxic. Spray dry and use. And not expensive. Hope you work this out.

I'm guilty of not reading the whole thread..
But don't go back and forth
Organics to inorganic may work 1 time with less long term effects
But the other way around?
The plant (if it even has time to adjust) gets nutes made available to them via microbeasts in organics
Then switching to salt. The plant has to get used to getting rdy made meals poured directly in to it's roots. (loosing relationship with the herd). I'm sure that's pretty harsh too. *I.e. *Heavy bursts of npk vs constantly (but slowly) available minerals in organics)
So there is probably a direct as well as indirect, long term problems cause by switching

I know nothing of ozone or any of that stuff I should know. I lost interest in the room itself when I got lost in the soil

When I switch from organic to coco I am not transplanting any plants and switching them to either medium. I harvest plants every week so I put plants into my bloom tent every week. Each plant is either in coco or organic soil. Never swapt out half way through to either medium.

Sorry for the confusion.

Well I have come to my last solution. Im going out and buying 200 sq. ft. of panda film. I am going to take my bloom tent down but use the frame to zip tie the panda film too. I have reason to believe me plants or being effect by an environmental factor which is out of my control other then removing the plants from that environment. Thanks Icmag.
