Its not a movie per-say, but recently the history channel ran a series call World war II HD. It followed the journals of various service men and a female nurse, in Pacific and Europe. Almost all the footage was rare color stuff.
It takes a bit to get me to shed tears for things happening on the screen, but lots of footage was shown of refugees. One seen shown a little girl, maybe 2-3 years, she was filthy from hiding in a hole while the island was shelled the night before, she was shivering in fear, a soldier is helping her drink from his canteen.
This scene made tears well up uncontrollably every time I saw it, it captured the moment perfectly.
