I may be wrong, but it's a recessive trait so the pollen will be useless.

It's not worthless as it gets you the genes if you don't have the Freakshow seeds.

Caveat is, it will take a bunch of work, ie couple gens of growing male&female plants/collecting pollen&making seeds/growing out seeds/repeat, to start seeing the freak traits in your plants.

Freakshow x normal plant does result in normal looking plants from all seeds grown out from that initial cross.

Would be ironic to see ABC x Freakshow (or Freakshow x ABC) resulting in a totally normal looking plant.

From what I've heard, it took years to get a male. All fern leaf phenos were female. Don't know if that's still true. We'll know this year.

I wouldn't be spending money on it just yet. I already have people asking for it at crazy prices. Hell, I don't even know if it's viable pollen. Could be sterile for all I know.

The pollen is viable I made seeds already and yes they do grow normal leaf you need to make f2 or backross to see the recessive traits . recessive only means both parents need the trait think of it as breeding autos or colored eyes in humans both parents need the recessive trait infertility is different also a little info for anyone looking for it in USA search Irvine seed co discount code grow25 today only I think 25%off

All it means it won't show up in the F1. But you'll see some in the F2 if you grow enough plants. ;)

Or find a female with some of those genes in her ;)
I have SSH x Love potion plant that has very deep serrations, been considering buying some Freakshow pollen to hit with for fun but I have way too many breeding projects already. Also the pollen source is 7east which seems questionable since they claimed to have made a stabilized rare dankness #1 x Freakshow cross that has 100% Freakshow leaves and was supposedly created within 3 months of the original Freakshow release. my thoughts are that they just f2'd/s1'd the Freakshow and claimed it was a cross so they could sell it without seeming illegitimate. Who knows.

Sounds reasonable, if they started the seeds around the time of the official release, that is the only solution. If course, they may have secured a plant or seeds long before the humboldt release, then it should be possible to at least make an f2 batch. Stable f3 or f4 seems such a long process but who knows when they started.

More like fern they look to me like Japanese maple leaf mutations that have been bred on some clone-based ornamental cultivars:

Good luck with fixing that trait on Cannabis hybrids tho. I think commercial breeders may finally realize what it really takes to do their job properly haha.

I was thinking probably a Freakshow x abc will give normal leaf in the first generation f2 is where you will find the mutation I guess I will find out in a few months

I am also certain it will result in normal leaves in f1, and I find it quite ironic and amusing. Yeah, it will be cool to see how your cross turns out in a few months!

curious to hear back about that experiment.

lots of possibilities for how this fern leaf trait inherits, and so far I've seen no one that tried it out and reported for sure how it inherits(or maybe I just missed it). just assumptions/hypotheseses

assuming it inherits like a single gene recessive, just like the webbed leaf from duckfoot, is a valid assumption, but it's just that, an assumption. easy to confirm or disprove with a crossing though.

but it could just as well be an interaction of a few seperate genes resulting in that fern leaf phenotype, in that case you'd find it in a lower ratio(lower than 1 in 4) in the f2.

or maybe it's a more quantitative trait, just an extreme form of the normal serrations, in that case the f1 would already show some signs of it(more pronounced serrations), but it would be much more work to make crosses with it and get the full on fernleaf back.

but if it's just a simple single gene, recessive trait kind of situation, it's very easy, you could make a cross and have it stable on the fern leaf trait in the f3.
