im learning lessons everyday! thats one of the many reasons i love growing this amazing plant. this is my life blood and everything wonderful. please take a moment out of your day to truly appreciate cannabis.

here is the first shot of the canopy when i came down. i admittedely didnt even see them yesterday. long day at work and a long afternoon drinking with freinds. wowzers

its not perfect at all, but the photo doesnt truly show the levelness of the canopy. everything is within a few inches of its self. not worried about it as i will stack plants to get the most out of my lighting

amazed at the growth. they have really taken off. ill never get used to this! querkles are considerablly shorter. also, i feel like they arent drinking as fast as when the light was on 24. looking great, green and reaching for the sun. a few of the chem99 have some tip burn but not getting worse.

i stuck 2tbsp/gall of roots organic grow in water and am going to bubble for a few hours before feeding. there is also 1tsp/gall of blackstrap

um. i would love for them all to be female...realistically, with the space that i have i dont think i will be able to do more than 6. i have eight in there now...i think i could even get by with 4-5. i believe they will all be showing by mid next week. by this time next week, i will be rocking out only what will make it to the finish line. that is exiciting to think abouut.

yes, the chems are stretching like the dickens. i should have popped the querkle beans 2weeks before the chems. the chems have some pretty tight node spacing as well but they are just much more vigorous.

your advice was awesome.. they were in serious need of a shot to the heart. you persuaded me to hit em hard and they loved it. i am liking the pro mix very much but using an insane amount of nutes. i believe i like the ammended soil approach better but things are lookin good so can i really complains? haha

thanks guys...getting ready to go feed em a little bit.

i read recently that the soilless mixes dont favor as distinct a "wet/dry" cycle as much as soil. should i be really drying them out before watering or giving them a feeding when there is still moisture in the medium? mine are on the verge of drying out...not sure when the best time it to water/feed

try to think about the root zone as the above ground atmosphere, the girls want an environment that isn't too dynamic...temps, air-flow, light, timing, etc.......they like the same below ground, consistancy.....letting the plants get dry and dehydrated is very stressful for them, and hinders their plant processes. you want to create a stable environment....i watch the plants to determine when to water......when the get wet, they will droop for a half a day, then look normal for a while, then, if they are very healthy, they will "spike", or look like they are praying with there leaves pointing slightly upward, (this only happens with very happy plants), they are actually telling you they could use some water......if they don't get it at this time they will begin to go into survival mode, and keep what little water they have down into the root zone, and they wilt.....very stressful, you obviously want to avoid this at all costs, when wilt happens, all systems shut down, except survival mode......so short answer, avoid extremes!

Don't let them dry out too much and feed 'em when they're moist.

right, this is a good point, if they get too dry, always give them water first, and hydrate them, before feeding them! think of being really dehydrated, the last thing your body craves is food.....the body, like plants, need lots of water to digest nutrients.

hahah you guys are killin me...just check out the garden. things are getting stuffed to the brim. they have ha three full night periods and i am still unsure about a few of them...

i am hoping i know by mid next week when i put the 600 in. we need to make room. i have made so many amatuer mistakes. handling them too rough and letting the space heater burn one up...

they are just getting water and mollasses tomorrow night..i need them to get hungry again...they are well fed

soooo

i believe i have five confirmed females...pretty sure three are dudes but all the males are yet to be determined. things are bound to reveal themselves soon.

def need to make space so sexing them out and eliminating is coming at the right time.

wowzers, the chem99s are REALLY stretching. its been impossible to maintain tempature out there. not too worried about it as i plan to stack plants to make canopy even. the chem99 also just look fucking fantastic. querkles have much better smells. very musky, oaky, yeasty smell...love it. gonna slip the 600 in on wednesday and blast em with some red light

temps are reading about 68-70f with lights on and about 58-60f with lights off...def not ideal but its impossible to keep the ambient temps warmer...its been unseasonabley cold recently. also, i need a thing to plug into my fan to run at half speed and trap a little heat in

could be a total bummer.

after much deliberation and close examination...i have TWO confirmed females and the rest are pretty much up in the air. there have been five dark periods. is it even possible for some two have not shown this early? do obvious females show first? the querkle which have been lagging this whole time in growth seems to slower to show sex? i dont have a magnifying glass (its broke) so this has all been done with the naked eye.

anyways, kinda bummed out....someone give me some good news? is it possible the females havent shown themselves?

Absolutely - ur only 5 days in u said? Give them another week & you won't have any doubts to their sexiness ;-)

Personally, I like to wait until the plant starts throwing pre flowers in veg to move them into 12/12. But obviously if space is a factor you can't always let em veg that long! Not sure if there's any weight to it, but I feel like I've read that a plant isn't "fully matured" & ready to flower until it starts kicking out those preflowers. I guess the real advantage is knowing what is what before the lights are flipped, and they definitely spring into flower quicker, at least from my experience.

Looks great, keep it up brotha!
