^ I need to look into long-soak extractions, has been an interest of mine for awhile

the only experience I have is doing one McGuyver style in a las vegas hotel punched a hole in my mason jar of nugs with a dental pick and stuck that into the ice bucket, casually walked down the hallway and shot tane into the jar, covered the hole with my finger and let it spray onto a glass plate back in the room



this one was extracted with an o'kief single tube

not sure what the strain is, some old crop that didn't go too well for a buddy of mine.

Of course not, these ICMag photos were taken a few days later with another sample
obtained by exactly the same as previous chip technology from dried buds of tan color not green.
Above chip sample (~1g) was melted from two ingots of two runs,
15min and 20min soak in butane in thermos, evap, ethanol, freeze, filter, evap.

You've mistaken, you may click my nick and open my only one album "Absolute Amber" on TokeCity in order to verify this.
Of course, the chips are very similar like twins, they were manufactured by the same AA method from the same grade buds.

I'm not sure of the correct application of the term "absolute" to this chips as derived from the dried flowers instead of fresh,
and ethanol was evaporated on a steam bath, and not under vacuum.

I wish I had easy access to 100% ethyl, suppose I could drive down to Mexico and get some everclear

I do have relatively easy access to 99% isopropyl but I'm not sure how effective it is as a washing solution

jump...any ideas on efficacy of isopropyl vs. ethyl for washing amber? I've had some good results using acetone as a 2nd wash as well.

Usually I'm too lazy tho and just purge without any secondary solvents

sorry, no ideas, never compared them, I have only ethanol expirience with small amounts to evape.
I've read from Gunnaknow posts that ethanol, acetone and isopropyl work the same way.

it allows us to obtain optical purity, transparent corkscrew would look funny.

you apply heat to the oil and whip air into the oil till it becomes budder

i've never used a secondary solvent either. i don't see how it would improve a product that is so pure already.

The affinity of butane to alcohol is greater than butane to THC IIRC, so the use of a secondary solvent ensures complete removal of residual butane.

It's standard procedure in pharm for purifying medications for IV use

The oil is stable enough that at room temperature is rock hard. It becomes malleable at body temp
