Feminized Lowryder 2

$63.99 on Seedbay and $66.32 on Seed Boutique for 5 feminized Lowryder 2 seeds!!!

Am I the only one who thinks that's a little outrageous? A benefit I saw in the original LR and it's stable autoflowering crosses was the fact that you could easily do a seed crop, and have your own seeds which you can then do an all-female SOG style run, once you eliminate the males. One could easily do another seed crop if they are getting low on seeds, and always have their own Lowryder IBL.

That is what I think most people did. They bought one pack, and then made their own. No need to buy any more. It made a lot of sense to do a seed crop, and then have hundreds of seeds in which to select females from, rather than just 10. That must have hurt sales.

So, Lowryder 2 was released, and most people agree it is much better than the original. In fact I planned on purchasing a pack. I was going to first do a seed crop, and then a sinsemilla SOG. I mean, you can't clone them, so with these autoflowering plants, it doesn't make sense to not do a seed crop, if you want to keep growing them, without paying $$$ for 10 or so seeds.

But then I find out that now it's only being sold in feminized 5 packs! Is this to prevent people from making their own seeds? I mean, yes they are now guaranteed female, but still almost 70 dollars for 5 low yielding plants that can't be cloned? Now, every time you want to grow more you have to buy more!

I wish I would have gotten my LR2 seeds before they were feminized... Now I'll never get to experience it, as I refuse to pay 70 dollars for 5 one-time-only plants.

Speaking of them being feminized, I'm wondering what technique was used? Has anyone grown these out yet? Any hermies?

Everyone seems to be selling feminized seeds now... I don't see any good in it. I'm just upset that this variety that I wanted to try has now "sold out".

You could reverse the sex of one of the females to produce pollen and then pollenate the other females to produce as many feminized seeds as you want. Do a search on IC for colloidal silver generator or silver thiosulphate solution.

I know of the many methods used to produce female seeds. I was wondering what method the Joint Doctor used specifically. Hermaphrodites are a common problem with these "100% female seeds". Like I said, I don't see any good in any of it, I believe it will hurt the future gene pool.

I have the same complaint, one of the main interests I've always had in autoflowering strains was the ability to run a fully seeded crop once indoors and then have enough seeds to last you a few years outdoors, but with them being feminized it complicates things.

I dont know..if i could self them and make a bunch of fem seeds.

That would make my northern outdoor grows that much easier imo. No pulling out the males etc. If they dont herm on me obviously.

But that's just whats available now. Im sure there will be plenty of non femmed autoflowering seeds available soon. By mdanzig atleast..


Btw whats the deal with misfits fans and autoflowering midget plants. I am a hardcore misfits/samhain/danzig fan myself and i find myself strangely drawn! lol

Well, I currently have one Power Stout, and will be ordering some Blue Streak when they become available, but that's besides the point. I still would like to try to original Lowryder/Lowryder 2, and produce my own IBL, but it seems like I can't now.

I wouldn't mind as much if you at least got 10 seeds for the price. At least then you could do a somewhat decent SOG. But only 5 one-time plants for almost $70? That's what I think is crazy.

No offense to JD or Mdanzig, but they both aren't going to be able to compete in the near future. They both have a couple great strains, but a couple vs a bunch = .....well, you get it.

i think the seeds are beyond a rip off. you get 5 small non cloneable plants for $70 and the amount of bud you get off them is very little. sounds like the crooked sterile seeds they are trying to genetically engineer to screw over farmers. I've grown powerstout and didn't think it was worth the money/time for a plant that got me one days worth of smoke. let alone this crap.

This just seems stupid you could end up with more bud if you used the $70 to buy it on the street then if you grow these 5 plants. It makes me very angry as you can tell.

Yeah, I've got one Power Stout now. I believe it is the mutant/nano pheno. It is 3 weeks old, and not a male yet, so I'm assuming it will be a female. It is not over 3", and has extremely wide/round leaves, but on some sets, the middle leaflet is all deformed and stunted. It still looks extremely healthy though. But like you said, I will probably only get a days worth of smoke, if that.

But I don't believe this is MDanzig's fault or anything. I had a lot of seeds, but only one germinated, and the seed that germinated was a mutated looking seed, yet was the only one to sprout. I heard they can be hard to germinate, and I have a mother plant now, so I'm not really bothered by only having one Power Stout. Unfortunately it had to be the mutant/nano though... I will post pictures when the grow is complete, and I have already finished smoking it.

But I was really interested in making my own LR2 IBL, and having enough seeds to last me a while, and do sensi SOG's, but now I can't, thanks to the current trend of feminized seeds and greed.
