yeh hempie i consider hydroponic my comments are about soil use.
Coco is a hydro medium. Lots of folks using coco in air/smart pots.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Hempy buckets with coco blow away airpots, smartpots, or any other kind of pot. Not even close. I gave my airpots away, as Hempys yield at least twice as much, if not three times, if done right, ie., watered daily to run off to inject fresh oxygen to the mix.[...]
So if somebody is growing with soil and harvesting 650g/m2 he will harvest at least 1300g/m2 when using hempy buckets?
just got rid of a male plant. heres some pics of the roots. vegged for 2 weeks in a 4inch square pot then transplanted into a 6ltr airpot were it had another 2 weeks veg and then 2 weeks of 12/12
lol Yet a MJ plant planted in earth out door will out yield a indoor plant i just don;t get it hahahahaSo if somebody is growing with soil and harvesting 650g/m2 he will harvest at least 1300g/m2 when using hempy buckets?
dude that is nothing to brag about

Do a side by side with them and you will see for yourself. Nothing simpler or more productive. And they are MUCH cheaper. 2 gallons is all you need for 8 to 13 zip plants with decent veg time, although they do get a bit top heavy in two gallon buckets so be careful not to let them tip over.

Has anyone tried running a cotton rope throught the soil and letting it wick up the water with these pots?
I did a side by side grow with both 3 g smart pots an 3 g grow bags an with my grow the bag did better. They both were treated exactly the same
Sorry, didn't read thread yet.
I just got some airpots and of course my precious tea was wasted through holes. I'm a strong believer in air pruning, and want to make this work. Should I just spiral water from middle to inch away from sides?! What if you just dip the whole pot, and then water? I rely on my microbes staying moist and active. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
Are your pots assembled with the correct side up? The "top" has a couple of rows without holes so that it will hold the water while it soaks in, but it's easy to assemble them with the holes on top. When I hand water with mine (normally they run on blumats), the water will very rarely run out the sides until the the plants have hit saturation unless I get really carried away.
