*Edit* I realize already that it's New Malawi Killer... If possible could the mods/Dubi edit the title?
Alright guys, it's freaking awesome to be back growing some more Ace gear after a little downtime. Life gets busy and it sucks having responsibilities sometimes; I've missed you guys.
I'm having an internal debate here about how I want to do this grow. I've considered doing a SCROG but my gut tells me that vegging long enough to fill the screen will result in massive uncontrollable monsters -- my last sativa grow (Purple Haze x Honduras) produced 6' plants in 1.7g of coco with a short veg time. Literally had to top several weeks into flower to prevent the plants from touching the top of the tent. I'm expecting a significant amount of stretch from the A5 in this cross; I know a few fellas around here have already grown this out so I'll need to go do some digging and research. Right now I'm leaning towards a quick topping then throwing them right into flower.
I've learned a few things in the last big sativa grow:
1. I'll be using larger containers. I got large plants from small pots watered/fed daily but I believe these plants will benefit from the larger pots since they continue growing so rapidly quite a few weeks into flower. Also the tiny pots made for a very top heavy situation where even looking at the plants caused them to lean.
2. I'll be establishing bamboo supports from the beginning and providing more training. These long lanky sativas really start bending when they pack on the buds.
3. Considering the larger container size I'm planning on using I plan to do little to no veg on these gals.
