Mendo Purps x Pre 98 bubba makes up the Oregon Obama. One of my best and favorite strains. From what I was told, the creator called it Obama because when flowered long enough it turns black...lol so its no homage really more of a dig if you think about it.
Its a low yeilder, does not grow any bud further down the stem than the top, so to maximize yeild either grow it in sea of green, or scrog with bigger plants. Trim off all the lower bullshit and the tops will swell.

I dig The O veggie pics Merkaba...the cabbage leaves are sweet. I feel ya on the struggling to get her to yield tip...I'm on my first run with her and at 30 days in she don't look like she's gonna yield much, but we'll see. If she turns out nice I'll be back here in a month with my first O pics.

What a lot of folks forget...we, as a country, only had TWO real choices...bad or evil...my boi, who's responsible for sprouting & selecting the Portland Obama Kush cut, also made another selection out of those same seeds...the Portland George W. Kush is still around the greater P-town area but held very tight, obviously we know who won.

Glad that someone with real knowledge on the strain could stop in. Damn man people are so mad at Obama and it's like you don't remember what bush did this county? Anyway,we must run in close circles, I have the Obama and the bush kushcut. Had them both for a long whwhile now, Bush kush leans towards the bubba side, not as purple as the Obama and has a much different funk to her. Regardless of name, still great strains!!
Very close circles I'm sure man...I'm not positive but I think the George W. Kush might 'possibly' be Purple Urkle x Bubba Kush...all the seeds that homeboi sprouted came out of a big bag of trim from Humboldt...but I know all the possible hybrid beans that coulda been in that bag.
