A 'clearing out my fridge' grow

sounds like you are on the right track, air cooling is nice though for lights, specially in a room that has more light then average. but just straightening your duct as much as possible should increase your exhaust quite a bit. although bends do help with reducing the noise, you do lose power. this is why i always go fully over power so i can run it at 30% to 50% even at lights on in summer this is mainly for the noise reduction, but also to give me spare exhaust power for trimming.

i also think a lot can be achieved by mixing the air well in the room. temps on the ground are always lower then at canopy level, so lots of oscillating fans will help.

sounds like your on top of it, agreed with gaius 'get rid of the bends'...just remember those girls are in coco and can take a beating from that heat ;) lol...30 slices for a 6inch from where hehe ..be back to see progress

cheers gm & john,

@ John they are not in coco this time bro, it's soil/ compost- House & garden batmix, they look the same though ay :) I wonder if the same logic applies though... heat wise.

temps are now 28-28.5C room, & between 27-28 canopy :jump: I have added the extra 6" rvk L1 extractor running on a dimmer for the time being... at about 60% of full speed. It was pretty hot yesterday so I think they will be fine now, plus I can always up the power to 2nd exhaust. I've added another thermometer at the back end of tent. The readings are the same in most parts of the tent so it seems with a bit more tweaking/ oscillating fan placement temps will lower a lil mo'.

You might be able to see in the first pic, I have placed a lil Mylar on one of my thermometers- over the probe, this one reads 1C lower than the one without Mylar over probe... I read that the radiant heat can throw thermometer temps off not sure of what to make of the findings, but the canopy temps are close to where I want em either way...

The plants still haven't had any food since being transplanted into the compost, that's about 30 days now not having to mix up any nutes apart from root excelurator, no pH'ing of water either  the soil will adjust the pH itself!

Forgot how simple growing in soil was! They will probably start getting feed Canna Terra bloom at 14 days 12/12, I'm getting some Advanced nutes Big Bud today... Will use that from now to day 14 bloom then 2 weeks later move onto the Plagron Green sensation I have, this is said to be very much like Atami's bloombastic- it has all the same ingredients except for one.

You can just make out a few of the seedlings in the tent pic to the front, still no sign of sex. They look pretty small compared to clones :D

Hello Shhh,

Finally some feedback on those, believe it or not but these seeds are actually from 2003 so 7 years old right now.
They where the seeds that I had left after evaluation was completed, and since there where just a few thousand left I decided to give them away as freebees at/during the first London Hemp-fair in 2004, hence the name "London Memories".
I've never seen or heard anything from those who got them though, so it's very nice to see you've given them a chance after all.
I'm pretty confident that you will not regret this.

Regards,
Gerrit (Magus Genetics)

Hi all...

U & me both laughing moon ;) lol, thanks for taking an interest...

What's good frankie, u just gave me a laugh with the message mate :D the space was free for a few days but has since been taken up again by more beans! hahhaaa :joint:
Thanks for the good vibes bro... The lights seem a little high in the pics, they are about 2ft (60cm) away right now, they plants have grown slowly (compost) not what I am compared to in coco/hydro. So I was encouraging a bit of a stretch for the 1st week... I will drop them to about 1.25ft if canopy temps permit tomorrow. Then they will also get a blast of Advanced nutes big bud to set them on their way ;)

High Gerrit, nice of you to fill in the blanks :joint: I knew they were old but 7 years! Wow!! 10/10 germinated, and they are the largest/ quickest growing out of the seedlings, except for 1 AK47. Good work so far mate :) I was given them by a friend of mine whom attended and bought them then had them in his fridge, for what seems like 3 years lol! They spent a further 4 yrs with me :D in 2 different fridges... Didn't really pop beans back then, ran clones from mates... So these beans have been hibernating away for a long time, glad that you feel I will find something nice in there. Stick about so I can thank you when I do ;)

Am I right in thinking they are a cross of sensi star & warlock?

hiya ssshh, should be fine in the coco hehe sorry fella lol will be sweet as in the compost ...looking cracking m8 and your ontop of your game...how did you fair today with it being 27 outside mine was on 31-32 im glad im flushing hehehe...still on the sidelines..great grow and details..keep up the great work!

Hi Shhh,

I'll stick around for sure, even when you are disappointed and give me an ear full lol.
They are modest yielders, although the actual weight will be better than the volume suggests.
But the aroma and taste is pretty exceptional, I think you will agree on that (in a few months) even if they are not matching your taste.
They are indeed a cross of Sensi Star (F3) and Warlock.

still looking really healthy in there, things are gonna get interesting very soon by the looks of it. i like the even way your cheese is growing. but the whole garden looks the picture of health, so no surprise there.

Ay up peeps...

Thought you would never see that lil bit about the compost John :D lmao!
I am trying hard to keep em happy, glad it looks that way :) Temps were 29C max @ canopy and similar for the room itself, I think that's acceptable for em.

I'll stick around for sure, even when you are disappointed and give me an ear full lol.

@ Gerrit, lol... good point mate :D heheee.... Cheers for the additional info. I remember reading that they are the same as your motivation strain is this correct?

@GM thanks man, I have gave it my best shot so far. The compost has probably alot to do with em looking real nice. As I haven't been given the opportunity to over/under fert them :D lol... They just do their own thang and the microlife gets the required nutes ready for them and the roots do all the rest. Does take dialing in food for new strains prob out of the equation allowing me to focus on their environment instead.

Obviously the down side to using compost in having to get rid of it after! Lucky I can mix most into the garden as by the time I have finished flushing it, I am sure there will be little chems left in there to effect anything.

Think I'll be back to slabs next, although I like being able to move the plants about and have a good close up look at them without feeling like I am in Barbados :D (doing it under lights)

No bud porn from the ladies yet, but fear not here is a little bud smorgasbord to keep yas interested ;)

Yes that is correct, the current stock of Motavation is produced recently of course, but they are still full siblings to the ones you are growing, or in other words, the only difference is the age of the seeds.

now that's a nice selection of smoke man, how is the gh white widow? was she grown the same way? i really need to get my act together and secure the WW clone that has been floating around here for the last 15 years again. specially now i have a nice little veg box.

anyway, just wanted to drop in. keep on keepin' on :joint:

OK... that's what I remembered reading it somewhere Gerrit.

Cheers GM, it's from a mate of mine, was grown in coco. The GH widow is very nice mate, it's what I remember getting years back in terms of smell (baby sick :D) and appearance~ It has that classic bubble look to the buds if you get my drift, the calyxes are swollen and bud fairly dense outline of the bud is shaped like a child's drawing of a cloud.

You definitely need to get that clone back bro, it was a looker and I imagine that is the original WW from wayz back. GHsco has a bad rep but they definitely have some nice strains at the minute.

yeah i think it is the old original WW.

so what's worthwhile in the gh seedco collection at the moment? i haven't been following all the strain news. what would you recommend of theirs then? not that i really need to be buying any seeds right now, but something really worthy, that's not to be missed is another story.

Without a shadow of doubt Super Lemon Haze... now I haven't tried it yet you understand! :D Heheee.... But I have grown both there Super silver haze & their Lemon skunk~ the parents of SLH and they were both very very nice, the lemon skunk actually borders on exceptional IMHO... I don't know any strain that tastes or smells like that. I have strawberry cheesel seeds, Hazeolope seeds & some a cross of the triangle cut of 'the white' and renee (highend) from legends, but you can be sure the next set of seeds I grow out will be super lemon haze mate! From all accounts it's a modern classic.

(Hope that cheque is in the post Arjan ;) :D lmao!!)

Got a few pics from today~ day 9 of bloom...

These cheese are really branching outward! Thought they would go more up than out but that's not the case. I think most are circa 1.5-1.75ft now so they will be about 2-2.25ft after the stretch is over... I'll be giving them a good haircut down below ;) they'll need it to stop impeding into each others space. That and a good re-arranging of the pots according to size & width of plants should see them well.

Still no nutes used! It's really strange just feeding plain water not even pH'd lol! They seem to be loving it though and I hope you'll agree from the pics... Couldn't find the same plant I been taking pics of after the slight reshuffle though!

The seedlings have been slightly neglected, they have been watered and foliar feed well, but I still have them in small pots at this stage, yield is gonna end up shitty from them but at least I will know what's worth revegging! It's a blessing in disguise too as these cheese plants have started to get very branchy as you can see. I can stick the seed plants up the aisle in the middle when the trays are raised in a few days time.

The floro for veg meant they stayed pretty short, they're now starting to spread their wings slowly but surely under the big lights... Lesson learned... Need a stronger veg light for beans!

Anyway, good news is they are showing sex now nearly 1 month to the day after they popeed up out of the soil (about 6 days 12/12 for them as they slightly behind the cheese cuttings).

It's only the AK47's that have shown sex, 2 girls to 2 boys so far... Still waiting on one more from the AK's... I think The LM's will be next to show, they are some very vigorous seedlings!

Seedlings~

One of the lil studs smells of pure bannana I shit you not! It's a more Indica looking plants than it's brother so I think I will hit a couple of cheese girls and the OG Kush S1's with some of the AK jizz from each Pornstar plant, lol... I have hereby given them the titles.

AK Bro's

Mr Marcus :D

&

Lexington Steele Lmao!

They are pornstars after all! So I had to name em aptly.
Look at the room full of ladies they will be choosing from :) All of them are gaggin for it btw, lmao! But... only a select few will get it ;)

I have started a lil trial with 18 of these plants... 9 are getting a mix of Panela which is a Raw Sugar Cane extract and Molasses with their water the other 9 are getting Advanced Nutrients Bud Candy. Both set will receive their respective mixes until week 6 bloom when advanced nutrients suggests to stop using Bud Candy... For fairness I will stop the Panela/ Molasses mix too.

I know this is far from lab type experimenting... but I will gather enough from the results to male a decision about using ANY sugar additives/ molasses etc in the future... After all I hate sticky hands :D

I wanna see just how bad I got screwed for paying €54/ $65 for the Bud Candy :D lol! It has amongst the multitude of ingredients listed on the back both Raw Cane Sugar and Molasses. These are two of the best sugar/ carb sources available so I went for those 2, plus both molasses & Panela (which contain Riboflavin amongst other goodies) have been used by many pot growers whom profess they RAWK!

So, I started today... Mixed up 20ml's/ 4 teaspoons full of molasses into 500ml which made the EC in that 500ml's so high it wouldn't read :D I figured I should be putting a similar amount EC wise of cane sugar in so stuck bits into the warm water until I had the a similar EC. These 2 mixes were then added to 12.5L's of plain water which took the EC up from 0.5 to 0.8! I then feed water to 9 plants (1.5L each).

With the bud candy I just added 2ml per L for a total of 27ml's into 13.5L of plain water.
Feed that to the other 9 plants... Will be easy to notice if any of this additives do anything as there are still 50+ plants not receiving any bud candy or molasses/panela mix.

Interesting experiment shhh.I'll keep an eye on this.I used bloombastic as carbo-additive last run,now I'm using a cheaper sugar-complex the same from Atami to see if I notice any substatial differences ;)
